Best Sunbathing Poems
The warmth of the sun holds you in an embrace
Like a lover, gently kissing your neck and your face
Your body relaxed, almost slipping away
Your thoughts, abstract notions, hold reality at bay
Strange drifting shapes inside your closed eyes
The laughter of children, the buzzing of flies
Boy chats up girl, so beautifully tanned
Your love, lies beside you, reaching out for your hand
Breezes send sand grains to sensitive places
Sticky kids run amok with their ice-creamed faces
The splash of the water, the fragrant tan lotion
Your cares, just like flotsam… float off on the ocean
Well done
In sun.

Her skin reflected the Sun
her eyes were blue like the sea
she was sunbathing on beach
how I loved her eyes!
Never did she like tan lines
so have a guess of her dress
salty breeze playing with curves
her lips licked sundrops!
A nice sunbathing sundress
with Sun rays all over her
wish I were lucky rays to
kiss her birthday dress!

***Summer's not quiet here yet, but I live in Florida...***
Summer
Earth awaken as a plethora of whales disembark from distant places
Frigid storms dashed into the skies destined to inhabit empty spaces
Sea captain tell seadogs to hoist skull and bones then fire pirate gun
White wings outspread dazzling albatrosses herald the season begun
Bodies swathed in lotion fervently absorb bronzing rays from the sun
Pushing crusted pails and trowels children tossed pebbly sand for fun
Bathers in the nude deny nervousness while bravado displays finesse
Footprints upon shores pay homage to the gods of true summer bliss

Oh what a glorious
sight it would be,
a sunbathing mermaid
from under the sea.
Caressed by the sun
and the wind in her hair,
taking a breath
without worry or care.
Adorned in her trinkets
and treasures of seas,
she drinks in the fragrance
of earth and the trees.
A sunbathing mermaid
from under the sea…
Oh what a glorious sight
that would be!
sunbathing bareback
mosquito season over
life is good

Brightness of the sun
felt slowly moving by
Fiery red
seen just beneath
each gently closed shut eye
Tiniest of water drops
surface upon a golden
skin terrain
Shimmering like dancing drops
of barely felt cool rain
Soothing sound of waves
an orchestrated song
Repeat inside my head
A lullaby
So gentle
yet fiercely strong
Patiently awaiting
an Invisible, unexpected breeze
To gently flow over me
A cooling yet momentary
reprieve...
