Premium Member When Things Returned To Green

The ruination of the mighty earth
Was started when explosions rocked the sky.
Ten years of darkness followed. . . then a heat,
And that is when the world began to fry!

Soon the oceans crept upon the coastlines.
Stubble lay in fields and great trees died.
No more was there order to the seasons.
Hopelessness prevailed. All nature cried.

But two superior (when darkness reigned)
Were born, a legacy to wizardry,
And 50 years kept hidden from Earth’s blight,
They’d grown alone contained beneath the sea.

Their under-water habitat released
And floated to the surface. What was seen
When they emerged and stepped onto dry land:
Were luscious fruits among lush splendid green!

With altered genes, they’d live perhaps forever.
But not in sin, for they could not perceive
A right from wrong. The garden’s jaded snake
Was stupefied to see Beth-Ann with Eve!

Doubts

Dear members of Poetry Soup, here I present my most awesome poem to date.
It is best appreciated while listening to my mate Andy's recital.
So please open-
http://www.andyevansfiction.com/interviews/andy-reads-a-poem-called.html
and read along.
Here goes:

DOUBTS

When the sanctuary
Of sunlight sinks
And dark shadows
Lay across your thoughts
Spiteful talons
Scrape against your reason
Their dragging
Resonating
In your mind

Out beyond your vision
In the darkness of the hour
Your doubts stir
Shuffling
Muttering
Foul damning words
That pierce you
Slicing through your certainty
Severing the flow
Of your integrity
Chill words
Spoken so close
They breeze past your ear
And settle like ice
On your dignity
Threatening
Menacing
Sounds of movement so near
That doubts brush
Your confidence

In the gloom
These doubts
Analyse
Scrutinise
Your every mistake
Real and imagined
Emphasised
Magnified
Demonised
Your honest intentions
Mercilessly proven
Futile
Trivial
Infantile
Your courage
And Morale
Shattered
Scattered
Lost in the darkness
Surrounded by doubts

Fearful
Deceitful
Doubts twist
Blur reality
Ripping
Façade
From hidden self
Clawing
Screaming
Igniting fear
Pupils dilating
Stupefied
Skinned
Heart racing
Blood
Gore
Torn from your chest
Undesired self
Splayed
Exposed

When the sanctuary
Of sunlight rises
And dark shadows
Are chased from your thoughts
Hopeful hands
Massage your reason
Their comforting
Relaxing
Your mind

Until Tomorrow, Feel Safe In My Warm Embrace

Until tomorrow, feel safe in my warm embrace;
don't feel the rage of those frightening storms...
whisper a passionate wish--- a sentimental phrase.

Stars won't appear to delight, excite and appease;
and with gloominess and clouds to marr our days...
until tomorrow, feel safe in my warm embrace.

We are stupefied by the butterflies's frantic dance;
they swirl with joy, then slowly land on our shoulders...
whisper a passionate wish--- a sentimental phrase.

Shunning faith and obedience is to live without grace;
God has blessed us and given us true happiness...
whisper a passionate wish---a sentimental phrase.

And should unfaithfulness ever bring us disgrace,
let that thought quickly vanish into darkness;
until tomorrow, feel safe in my warm embrace...
whisper a passionate wish---a sentimental phrase.

Premium Member I Saw a Man Stark Naked

I saw a man stark naked there unexpectedly,
who in his masculine fashion, though not apprehensively,
went gliding (or was he striding?)
down the center of the hall.
He did not glimpse me at all
as my gut called out, What gall!
So brazen, so reckless this peculiar entity
appearing as if from nowhere to step in front of me,
not elegant or slim as I’m fond of men to be;
but neither corpulent nor stocky -that cocky buck he
with a smooth protruding rump, rather like a girl’s,
yet by his gait betokened “straight” with nary a frill unfurled.

Frozen to the floor, gawking all the while,
I tried to surmise what could prompt in one
such imprudent, impudent style.
Was he merely meandering in some somnambulism state
as his simple sex is wont to do even while awake?
Or maybe this curious man had behind his head an eye
from which, though facing forward, did enable him to spy
the stupefied stranger staring at his rounded bare behind.
For he seemed to be parading his rear assets just for me,
which I deemed, as I beheld them, excelled in simplicity!
Though nothing was exceptional, I smiled begrudgingly
at a finely curved back with firm legs attached
 in resplendent nudity!

Premium Member Winter Love

when light faded out
and darkness descended
when all over me
the icy chill began to creep
I slammed the windows and doors
tightly shut
and like a child crawled
into my padded bed,

while the winter gale
was still raging outside
you broke upon my thought
as a euphonious melody.
when I longed for your warmth,
you knocked upon my feeble heart

as your voice trailed across to me
louder and louder,
I woke up from my languorous sleep
felt snug, the chillness around me, swept away
and a strange desire,
coursed through my nerves

I could feel the heat
of your tumultuous passion
the soft touch
of your caressing hands
the musky odor
of your fragrant breath
the warmth in your almond eyes

you stood before me
as an embodiment of grace

you opened the windows to let in the light
not leaving me grope in blinding darkness

you took me to the seas
of shore less delight
you enlivened every atom of my being
kindled in me the fire
of amorous desire
swept me off my feet
by the inundating tide of love

I felt my sleeping passions
suddenly set ablaze

Alas, with my senses lulled to sleep
leading me into a state of serene calm
through the door ajar,
you faded out like an evanescent dream
leaving me so stupefied....!

Let’s take this outside
Your turn to be objectified
Necktied offside and brutified
Come step outside
Where you can no longer hide
Now you and me can collide

You’re worse than godzilla’s bride
Torpefied and vilified
Uglified, mean and evil-eyed
Always snide and undignified

Ringside, in your false pride
the eyes of Hitler recognized
Executing his genocide
Feeling justified nationwide

Lately I’ve been preoccupied
With thoughts of homicide
Accident by countryside
broadside you flip side
See you land in the fireside
For all the misery aside
you put me through - testified

Is your meanness really classified
I’m no longer taking it - qualified
I‘m no longer hiding it - quantified
No more excuses - are you satisfied?

Germicide and pesticide
Have you ever tried
To drink a ton of formaldehyde
To soften up your cowhide

Now we can go back inside
Your reign of terror on override
You’re toast and you’re fried
You’re been hogtied and humanified
Stupefied and rectified
Just as prophesized

Premium Member A Little Kindness Never Hurts

In the parched life of desiccated emotions desolate
I didn’t know there was nestled a calm niche of bliss
in the recess of my petrified heart I couldn’t locate
where lay unperceived a beautiful concealed oasis.

The dried tears of a hungry child begging on road,
the stilled eyes of a stupefied mother of a lost child,
the silent sigh of a sick destitute resigned to God….
All these unveiled the obscure oasis for me to find.

From the depth of cool shade of my heart I collect
soulful of serene solace in full measure I can gather,
from the colored horizon of the new dawn I reflect
mindful of hues of rising hope as life’s live treasure.

These I give to those from humane feelings’ reservoir
whosoever need under the fallen sky in times helpless.
In my ears serenading breeze of the oasis whispers….
Rejoice kindling in dim hearts little candles of kindness.

Premium Member Unassailable Purity

Her birth was never trumpeted,
Nor caught any media headlines.
Born to Joachim in very ordinary settings,
Virgin Mary, the simplest of the simple,
Was specially chosen to perform a task divine.
As she grew up, she pledged to keep her body and soul,
Free of all blemish and stains of fleshly desires.

But in her teens, she was betrothed to Joseph,
Perhaps, part of a divine plan.
Did dreams come to nab her sleep, no one knows!

She found joy in prayer and absolute surrender to God.
Once when in silent communion with God,
Hearing the flap of wings overhead, she looked up.
Seeing the flash of blinding light in her dim lit room
She stood in dazzled astonishment,
Not knowing what was about to happen.

Before her, appeared a winged seraph.
A radiant silhouette with such gentleness n’ grace
Its hands raised in benediction,
Saluted Mary and said,
“Blessed art thou amongst women…
……………………………………
The rest she heard in a trance.
Unable to digest what was said,
The girl looked up nonplussed.
Again, it said, “The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee,
And a son shall be born of thee,
Whom you shall call Jesus.”

“How can this be”,
The question lingered but didn’t ask.

In that nanosecond of a new revelation
Did Mary’s world shatter like glassware?
Or did her virgin womb thrill with new life?
Did she swim in the waters of joyful tidings?
Or gyrate in the sweeping swirl of tidal waves?

For a girl already espoused to a man
In whose dreams his comely form had begun
Flitting in and out,
Was it a moment of silent ravishment?
Or of stupefied bewilderment
Did a dagger cut through her heart?
Or did her soul take wing in flight???

Without questioning,
She surrendered to the will of God,
Thereafter, never wavered nor bemused,
But readied herself for the great task.

Forever she remains a symbol of mercy and love.
Her immaculate grace is reflected on her radiant face.
Her lovely visage having greater beauty than any flower,
Emits sweet fragrance that perfumes our souls.
Remaining ever so pure with no trace of sin,
She is acclaimed by Christians all over the world,
As a symbol of unassailable purity and godly grace!

Premium Member Silent Saturday

Jesus was dead
There was no hope
Disciples' dread
How could they cope?
Christ crucified
It was all o'er
Crowd stupefied
Death they deplore
Messiah killed
What more was left?
Dreams unfulfilled
All felt bereft
Laid in the grave
Still Saturday
Some sign they crave
To pave the way
Silent sadness
Could not believe
This mute madness
They could not grieve
They had to wait
For one more day
To witness great
Miracle sway
Patience tested
They did not know
One day rested
Christ would then show
What did they do
On Saturday?
The select few
Had lost their way
Led by Peter
They went fishing
No wait's sweeter
When faith's missing
Let us rejoice
Sunday's coming
Crush Satan's voice
Rout doubts numbing
One day will change
Your lifelong wait
A marvel strange
Resuscitate
Christ rose again
On the day third
Let's say Amen
God proved His Word
No dejection
No need to mope
Resurrection
Needs patient hope

Premium Member On Making a Difference

On Making a Difference

It does not matter how much money I have.
Nor how many medals or trophies I own.
Making a difference in the lives of others is
the way to live, I was shown.

Living as if I were the Hope Diamond under
glass, is no way for me to live, alas!
No need for hundreds to stare at me in stupefied awe!
Getting and not giving is the biggest booby prize of all.

Counting my medals and jewelsas if I were Queen of
the May,
Tells the biggest story of all...a big ego at play.
Winner take all is the opposite of giving.
Demanding people kiss our feet, is the saddest and
emptiest way of living.

Premium Member The Unholy Terror of Little Tom

THE UNHOLY TERROR OF LITTLE TOM

The bashing sounds of thunder echo in reverberation
to the electrifying bolts of lightning that illuminated
every single room from dark to light just seconds earlier.
Sheets of rabid rain torpedo upon a leaky roof.
Broken limbs of trees tossed away by raucous sheets of sleet
ram hard against the battered frame of the small cottage.

Little Tom holds close in a fetal position
immobilized in fear and bowed down as a non person
waiting stupefied quivering and frozen in spaceless
timeless obedience to all his emotions.

The vibrations of the shaken windows
push and pull in harmonic rhythms
accelerating into a persistent succession
of unrelenting pounding pistons
upon the naked wooden structure.

Little Tom awaits in terror for the moment
when the storm gates will crash in
allowing the blizzard to surge the void
and tear obliquely at his tender
weakened shivering flesh.

He ties to hide by pressing deeper into the blackness of the night.
But the sparks of the fireplace dancing in rapid cadence
against the wall reveal the shadow of his huddled form.

Wet and convulsing in unbecoming behavior
Little Tom yells out DADDY, DADDY!
.
His father, lays dormant and unconscious
in a drunken stupor passed out and vacant
on an unmade bed.

Worn and withered forlorn and terrified Little Tom
in one last whimper, cries himself to sleep

Premium Member Ultrasound of An Unborn Child

We saw the ultrasound of your unborn child
Early this morning, still awakening
When at the speed of light
It raced across the internet finding its way
Into our home and hearts.
Your mother began to cry and I
Was stunned and stupefied
At the reality of it all, remembering when
You were one time just so small.
I wondered about all the unseen and inexplicable forces
Conspiring and converging to create this new life
Inside you now. I wonder how
Time could have raced away so rapidly leaving
All those yesterdays turn to dust
While you grew up in front of us.
Thankfully, as the infinitesimally small
Photographic figure in this ultrasound shows, something
Of our hopes, dreams and love grows
Like fruit of the vine and nectar
Of God’s eternal sea of goodness and grace shining
Down on our humanity.
This evening when the sun sinks low
We’ll still be aglow with thoughts of you
No longer one but two
Hearts beating together
In rhyme and rhythm. Your mother and I
Could never be happier for you and this new found
Miracle we’ve been given.

A Message For Humanity

Masticate this thought for me, reader.
Basic stories of characters with settings and plot.
Occasional works of obscure fiction written in flamboyant diction.
Maybe television shows or whatever media your mind chose.
Why does life and fiction have similarities?
We’ve apparently became parodies.
Archetypes, tropes and plot devices according to our script.
Except it seems the audience is all applause and standing ovation.
Supposedly great ratings or bestseller.
You haven’t heard our success? Well, you’re a bottom-dweller.
Oh! You suggest a rewrite? A script change?
You'll be written out that can be arranged.

As Jaque said,
“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players.”
However, a rewrite can add layers.
Yes, dear reader-
You can be the writer!
Evolve a scene to make it brighter!
Sadly, ideas and influence are the base of your personality.
Unjust is this reality but that’s the duality.
Determine which truth is yours to follow.
Even if it’s slightly hollow.
Plot holes will continue to exist, because we can’t resist the perfect screenplay.

The poet of this musing is in the same boat as you.
He didn’t produce this particular piece.
You pondered enough you can cease.
There will be no riddle to guess.
It’ll only become a mess, you’ll be stupefied by the stress.
I used him as a medium to establish a connection;
a ploy of deception call it misdirection.

I am Death!
I’ve been around for centuries,
I’ve guided many souls to the afterlife.
The past is behind…
The present is set…
The future is unclear…
The end is nigh…

Remember:
Your health will deplete or an event will happen down the line-
Never forget that your soul is always mine!

Premium Member The Winter's Lullaby

"The Winter's Lullaby"

Choking noble light held by the hands of Fate

As deceived Persephone enters Hades gate

The burning suns falling through the universe.

Despairing and alone not a coppers worth

A bitter cold blankets Gaia's tears in a frozen sea of glass

While the stupefied intoxicated serpent drowned with a laugh.

Undulating sands barricades into immovable glacier,

Infectious prison walls destroyed the strength of redeeming savior.

Chariot of the flame plunges into the water’s bed

Fate’s tepid scarlet scissor hands sever the music thread

Astaea’s darkened soaked mural melts with eternal dread

Seeing red, alluring sirens sang as the music bled

Unfathomable lamented shrieks surged as the music tore

Obsidian tributaries erodes the forbidden door

Eros scorned wound feeds the ravished horde of succubi

Remote hollow temple bell wailed the closing cry

Captured in the dance of loves and hates tempest cyclone

Drums of madness orchestrates into the perfect tone

The infernal flame explodes from the mouth of Tartarus

Driven oblivion crescendos for the pending chorus

The stentorian cracks of nefarious shots being fired

Frantically gasping for the final breath of faith hope and desire

Tragic petrified tears from soundless screams of the choir

Condemned whisper of the drum crucified on barbed wire

Cold candle rests under the gaze of the vastness

No kiss or love to awake the entombed princess

Crimson emaciated curtains descend upon the floor

Fathomless, eviscerated, veiled; the music is no more
