Stumped

Have you ever wanted something
So bad, that in thinking about it,
you feel this huge well of tears rising up?
But you push it down,
pull the plug from the drain…
since you need to be where you are,
but you don’t really want to be there,
just tired.

Need trumping want.

It’s a bit confusing, actually…
because you, in effect,
become that need,
not necessarily wanted, just needed.

But isn’t being needed,
something we all want?

Or I could be wrong…
not everybody wants to be needed-

Since it can equate to a lifetime
of just giving too much of yourself,
that you run the risk of losing that self,
that you don’t even know
what you want anymore

Maybe it would also help
if every once in a while,
we acknowledge that
being wanted is something
that we also need?

Just to keep us sane, I suppose.

To be needed is too different
from being wanted.

One word is for survival,
while the other is for satisfaction.

So which would you choose to be?

**this is pretty rough,
just went on a sort of crazy frame of mind here
--as for my title, hmm was just really stumped what to title it?
I guess it also works ;)

Stumped On the Stump

It’s in the dictionary: disambiguate.
It reminds me of Bush’s misrememberate,
a word that always makes me hyperventilate
and sometimes even makes me discombobulate.
They’re words for those who want to circumambulate
proven facts. Politicians overcompensate

with sesquipedalians to overcompensate
for ideas they’d rather not disambiguate.
They also tiptoe as they circumambulate,
or say, “Oh, I guess I must misremeberate.
That liberal press just makes me discombobulate
and more than once it’s made me hyperventilate.”

It is not abnormal to hyperventilate
when one’s stumped and trying to overcompensate
while working so hard not to discombobulate,
worried that someone’s going to disambiguate
his harangue. Then he’ll claim to misrememberate,
or convolute the truth and circumambulate

it if he can. If he can’t circumambulate
embarrassing stuff, he might hyperventilate,
which sometimes causes him to misrememberate
the lies he’s spewed. So then he’ll overcompensate
and slip in some truth that might disambiguate
the ambiguity and discombobulate

his campaign. Then his hopes to discombobulate
the electorate and to circumambulate
the truth will be dashed. If folks disambiguate
his thoughts, all he can do is hyperventilate,
although, he doesn’t want to overcompensate
and say he’s been known to misrememberate.

The admission that he might misrememberate
could lead voters to think he’ll discombobulate
under pressure. He’d rather overcompensate
by making up stuff that will circumambulate
the simple truth and make you hyperventilate
and just too distracted to disambiguate.

Politicians overcompensate, misrememberate.
If you disambiguate, they’ll circumambulate,
discombobulate and then hyperventilate.

Why would someone fall in love with a stump

I submit that there may be such a chump

      It seems so very bizarre

But I suppose that there are

Some blokes as gullible as Forrest Gump

Perplexed cross-eyed peeper, encountered grim reaper.
Unsnapped devil’s raincoat, castrated cork afloat.

There was an old klump by the name of Trump
He lost the elections and was bowled at the stumps
Though the self opinionated never suffer self doubt
I don’t think he still has a clue of what he brought
about
Not wanting to concede the opinionated lump.

Positively Stumped (By Mac}

I think,
I know,

I will just go with the flow,

I'm positive,
I'm skeptical,

That your flaws are impeccable,

I'm cautious,
I'm sure,

Love is a crystal clear blur,

I'm ready,
I'm nervous,

We're imperfectly PERFECT!

It's nirvana,
It's hell,

Only time can tell..

Should my feet fall
I would not be able to walk
that possibility would leave me stumped

If I were stumped
I would surely fall
unless I relied on my roots

Stumped

I think I will take a walk
Trying to rid this writers block
Maybe I will stop and watch a hawk
Or some seagulls flying in their flock

Perhaps admire an old couples love
And the kids playing catch with their baseball gloves
While the colorful kites fly above
These images I hope to make use of

As I transform my word into write
I'll try not to be trite maybe not with all my might
My writing maybe bright or full of fright
I will never give up till I think its right but that's alright

Premium Member The Question That Stumped Einstein

One day while working in his lab, Einstein was teaching his student
The student was in awe of the brilliance of the genius
The youngster had an idea he thought to be prudent
Trying to outwit Einstein, one might say...to be ingenuous

The youngster made a bet, declaring to pay five dollars if he couldn't figure out the answer to Einstein's question
But if Einstein couldn't answer his question, he would pay him five hundred dollars

"Bet on" replied Einstein

So, Einstein asks the youngster a question he couldn't possibly answer
The youngster reaches in his pocket and gives him five dollars

That was a question that only a great mind as yours would be able to answer

But let me ask you... what has three legs, runs up a mountain...and comes down with five legs?

Einstein is puzzled and could not answer the question- so he reaches in his pocket and gives the youngster five hundred dollars

After giving him the money Einstein asks the youngster- "so what is the answer to the question"

Smiling happily, the youngster reaches in his pocket and gives Einstein another five dollars

Stumped

Towering over the forest
Stands a sacred tree
Capable of telling the blest
What was and is to be

To every question an answer
Every problem a solution
Even the cure to cancer
Of the prevention of pollution

One day in the forest I found him
And wondered what to ask
I knew not to question on a whim
But towards untapped knowledge to grasp

I asked him a question that stumped me
That stood out from all the rest
I asked how love came to be
Was it ordained on our behalf?

He simply sat quietly
Content with it a mystery.
