I believe
in a true love
That if
we embrace all
be in love always
change our words
and then
change that truth
into
love, maybe
our children
then their grand children
and their great grandchildren
tell...
we'll be loving you
As usual I have a lot to say, but for your sake I’ll try to be brief.
I know, I bring at least a smile to all your faces when I walk into
the room after all no one has ever accused me of not being able to
make an entrance, but at least I make the effort to enter.
When I speak, I know it is difficult for you to understand me.
I see the faces of confusion in the room and I sense your impatience.
You may be surprised to learn that over the years,
I have acquired a knack for recognizing these things in people.
I don’t mind you poking fun at me when I talk too long.
As you know, I do get a little carried away sometimes,
but at least I have something to say and the courage to say it.
I don’t blame you for getting tired of hearing me.
I get tired of hearing myself sometimes,
but unlike you I don’t have the option of turning away.
Some people look at me and see a handicapped person,
others may see me as being physically challenged.
Frankly, I’m not convinced of either description.
Yes, every day does pose new hurdles for me,
but with an unyielding desire to make a contribution to
and play my small role in the greater society
I think I challenge the day.
My mere presents makes each of you
aware of your own boundless potential
by constantly posing the question:
“Why can’t I....?”

Stevland Morris is the real name of Stevie Wonder
Though blind soon after birth it didn’t push him under
Exceptionally talented performer from a tender age
Virtuoso musician and singer when he's on a stage
‘Little Stevie Wonder’ at the age of just thirteen
Achieved a number one hit on the music scene
Now he has a star on the Hollywood Hall of Fame
Detroit honored him with an Avenue of his name
Many songs Stevie’s written over last fifty years
‘Overjoyed’ is a favorite, its lyrics bring me tears
Recording on Tamla Mowtown he’s a multi talented man
Right from my early years I’ve been a massive fan
I’ve seen him in concert twice he really was amazing
Stevie Wonder is incredible, his music I am praising!

The sky is crying…
Like a gentle southern rain,
Falling, pouring, pounding out a beat
In rhythm with the memories,
The tunes of forever that we played,
History’s not winning, though….
The sky is crying…
Like the storms across the night,
Silencing the stars and moon with yearnings
Trembling echoes who blow away the
Hopes, the dreams, the pent up feelings
Bleeding like forever calling…
The sky is crying…
Like a burning bridge in the distance,
Reminding with a sigh that wherever I turn
There are passions burning, fading
Beneath clear, soft showers, drizzling
Storms releasing forever…
The sky is crying…
There is silence in every direction
My faith is yearning, quivering beneath
The presence of a memory, a burden
Left to make me believe – to remember
Forever is still waiting…
Somewhere, the sky is crying tears of joy
Because, despite the pain, there has been
More to gain in the shuddering remains…
Forever, I pray… still changes the rain
To the clearest sunny day – still, I will never
Turn you awayyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Stevie, we were free,
Stevie, you and me,
On that golden day,
Was it '68?
The decade's last few days,
The whole wild world was crazed,
But where we were was peace,
For you and me at least.
If I stop for a moment,
I dream groves and country paths,
Green's Albatross is playing
In this our past,
Whole empires were falling,
The old ways were fading fast,
Things never last,
But you and I
Found pleasant peace at last.
We weren't friends for long,
These things aren't too strong,
We were far from home,
Together less alone,
We drifted far apart,
Hardened up our hearts,
We had so far to fall,
Four years took their toll.
We walked and talked
For many hours,
Safe under Blue Berkshire Skies.
Stevie, we were free
Like we'd never been,
On that halcyon day,
Stevie B and me.
The decade's last few days,
The whole wild world was crazed,
But where we were was peace
For you and me at least.
(This is a song lyric written in 2003, reflecting back on my school days.)
I am a huge Stevie Nicks fan, this is a little tribute...
She is dancing in the moonlight
on the edge of the crystal waters
for the light is bright that shines upon her face
her eyes light up like a burning flame
and her hair blows freely with the spirit of the wind
she starts to sing, her voice as soft as velvet
so graceful she truly is a star
wearing boots lace & feathers,
she is an enchanting poet,
so much beauty her story telling will leave you spell bound
she is edgy wicked & eccentric she is the ever so lovely & gracious
Miss Stevie Nicks..
In this white-washed room, time moves slow,
Monitors beepin’ soft and low,
I got tubes and dreams, but one thing’s clear—
The only medicine I need is your voice in my ear.
Nurses come and go like the wind through the door,
But I’m anchored in a hope I can’t ignore—
I’m just waitin’ for your call, baby,
To lift me higher than this hospital wall.
One sweet sound, that’s all I need,
To set this heavy heart of mine free.
Oh, I’m just waitin’, just waitin’—
Waitin’ for your call.
Ain’t no sunlight in these sterile tiles,
But I picture your face and it brings me smiles.
Like Stevie said, “I just called to say”—
But this time, I’m hopin’ you’ll call me today.
If you knew how your voice could heal,
Like Sunday choir or a lover’s zeal—
You’d pick up the phone, babe, make it ring,
Turn this ICU into a soul-song swing.
I’m just waitin’ for your call, darlin’,
Your words could break down every wall.
One “hello,” and my heart takes flight,
Through these IV drips and the long, long night.
Yeah, I’m just waitin’—waitin’ for your call.
Maybe it’s just a whisper,
Maybe a laugh through your tears—
But I’ll be here, my love,
Till your voice fills my ears...
I’m just waitin’... yeah... just waitin’...
Waitin’ for your call.
You know when someone says I love you 'As' the sun? ~ it means that you're always loved—poetess "As" by Stevie Wonder
I Choose Love
I believe in a true Love so true and real
By embracing all and then Love always
If we change words into truth then
Into Love so that maybe
Our children and grand
Children and their
Grand children
Tell that I'll
be Lovin
You
"Limerick - Syllables 12,12,8,8,12" ~By Poet~
Stevie Wonder.
Blinded after birth by a hospital blunder.
At three he played music with pots and pans.
Self taught piano, at nine he played to young fans.
Stevie Wonder decided to bet Tiger Woods
To play golf at a golf club in their neighborhoods
Tiger, he chose where they would play.
Stevie would choose the time of day.
Stevie chose midnight. He won and went home with the goods.
At 13 he was the youngest solo artist ever to top the charts.
Being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, warmed hearts.
He won a Grammy for "That's What Friends Are For"
Stevie Wonder, an incredible performer has fans galore.
Blindness never stopped legendary musician, Stevie Wonder;
Made his presence felt in the 70's like rumbling thunder
Recorded hit song "Isn't she lovely?" about baby daughter.
His half-a-century or so career couldn't be any hotter.

Poetic form: Name
Stevie told the truth because he was four
He did not know anything of deception or lies
His sister Monique was embarrassed,
she had said something mean about her friend
which Stevie had innocently repeated
Monique called Stevie a liar, and punished him
In front of her friend, retaining a friendship
But losing her little brother’s trust forever
Showing Stevie what lack of integrity looks like
His first taste of unkindness and unfairness
The birth of an indomitable only instigates forces to envy
he comes to the world complete but flawed by a blonder
the journey will be long, his sail will be wavy
but his glue to success, he's letting no asunder
obstacles only makes the climbing more classy by the Ivy
the thorns are overcomed to reach beyond and yonder.
A car crash of the 70s and his fate is inflicted with scurvy
possessing the billboard's apex, that's his first rejoinder
three consecutive albums of the year, this is not a movie
even with sight depleted, he's a 25-time commander
his "happy birthday" song that makes a sadist groovy
lets martin the junior-king grateful and honoured from under.
Accolades and trophies make the cabinet full and heavy
rock and roll, rhythm and blues, his prowess is on the calendar
who said disability is a hindrance not to make one savvy?
Those who ultimately lose are the ones who surrender
now an epitome of peace and freedom, that's our beloved Stevie
achieving against all odds to make the people always wonder.
