Stevie Learns the World Ways

Stevie told the truth because he was four
He did not know anything of deception or lies
His sister Monique was embarrassed,
she had said something mean about her friend
which Stevie had innocently repeated
Monique called Stevie a liar, and punished him
In front of her friend, retaining a friendship
But losing her little brother’s trust forever
Showing Stevie what lack of integrity looks like
His first taste of unkindness and unfairness

Yes, he may forget the incident, but he will never ever forget the lesson, and he will never see his sister exactly the same thereafter.

Innocents remain no more innocents. Pity. Beautiful writes.
