Rhyming Doubles On My Muse's Stern Command

He who Lives, to green woods explore
and bathe in glowing moonlit streams
shall find his Love, begging for more
than pale ghosts in late midnight dreams!

She who his hot passion bestirs
in its fires, warms her eager heart
asks not for gold, diamonds or furs
instead, he a sweeter path chart!

He that her hand truly adores
in her light and grace, truly shine
oft wades along paradise shores
where sincere poets oft opine!

She that in his stead, falls to pray
accepts life's wrath and its dread
as for his sins she must then pay
sorrows born, when to death he fled!

He who lives, to green woods explore
and bathe in glowing moonlit streams
shall find his love, begging for more
than pale ghosts in late midnight dreams!

I Then In Silver Silence Fell

My muse cried in my night dream,
to you, I gift a lyric sweet
so your honor you may redeem
and thus your hide, I will not beat!

I wept, you are oft my sad woe
in humble pride, I write my tales
caring not which way each spell flows
thus with freedom, my true ship sails.

My muse, to this cry was bemused
but with anger great, she then rose
tis' I that you truly abused
after I your worthless hide chose!

I then in silver silence fell
and in my morrows, saw so true
I had her under my dark spell
and thus my freedom could renew!

My muse cried in my night dream,
to you, I gift a lyric sweet
so your honor you may redeem
and thus your hide, I will not beat!

Rhyming doubles, on my muse's stern command..

Note:
Sometimes you just gotta cut loose and let the
captive rhymes dance and outward flow....
as in verses from a past youth's meandering
and lighthearted compositions....
As in the in the dark abyss of *Dark verse* one can not be embrace its blackness for too long.

Premium Member Nature's Stern Warning

Extreme temperatures
Melting of glaciers
Rising sea level
Wildfires
Forests' obliteration
Draughts
Drying up of lakes and rivers
Desertification
Hurricanes
Storms
Floodings, and
Landslides
Is the vocabulary, Mother Nature uses, to
Pen ts stern warning to Man:

" Oh, you thoughtless being, mind your ways and revere,
my eternal laws of harmonious cooperation and coexistence
otherwise, unable would I be to provide for your subsistence."

For more than two weeks the temperatures in Greece have been around
40 Celcius. Sometimes, like today it is 45.
During this period wildfires are raging across the country. It comes a day that
our firefighters are trying to contain more than eighty fires.

Premium Member She Was Stern There

She was stern there looking at me
Not quite a pout, almost angry
Her hair, wild, is loose all about
She keeps it stringy and spread out
Her eyes burning with fire, deadly

Heart bleeds seeming a mystery
Red between lips is what I see
Protruded out with a fine pout
She was stern there

Her nose flares as if she won’t be
Won’t hold my love, she sits sternly
Fiercely she carries some dire doubt
Without my love she’s in a drought
One thing’s sure, there’s no guarantee
She was stern there

We Had a Democratic System and Judges Stern But Just

So, I’m the last survivor of a breed that ruled the world!
Brrr! It’s getting mighty cold.
I suppose we can’t complain though. Our innings was quite long.
Brrrr! It’s getting mighty cold.
When I was just a nipper not long hatched from the egg,
Brrrrr! It’s getting mighty cold,
My dinosaurus granddad told us stories of an age,
When everything was beautiful and fair.
We had a democratic system,
We had judges stern but just.
No one knew what hunger was,
We just ate ferns and moss.
O happy salad days!
Brrrrrr! It’s getting mighty cold.
I suppose we got too dozy in our leafy paradise
And didn’t see the rot was setting in.,
When a bad-egg dinosaurus by the name of Tyrannosaurus
Decided violent revolution was a more preferable solution
To the problems of the state than was steady evolution.
Brrrrrrr! It’s getting mighty cold.
He taught that eating lettuce was a very foolish practice,
That eating meat was what we ought to do.
“In the case of scarcity, don’t think t a perversity
To eat a weaker brother. Let the weak go to the wall!
Brrrrrrrr! It’s getting mighty cold.
The ensuing decimation with each succeeding generation
Of our species led in time to a general deterioration,
Then a cataclysmic annihilation until the time has come
That I’m the only one left to tell the tale.
Brrrrrrrrr! It’s getting mighty cold.
Those frisky little suckers that constantly make fun of us
Doubtless think they’ll have it all their way – and so they may!
The sun denies to none of heydays at least one.
But after that? Brrrrrrrrrr! It’s getting mighty cold!

Premium Member I Am Going To Be Stern With Me Today

I am going to be sternly in charge of myself today; I will put up with no antics or nonsense.
We are going to clean this desk top today, without any wailing or screaming or pouting at all.
We are going to dig through the pile of debris in the corner and make sure there is not a mouse village.
We are going to fill that water glass to the brim and drink water until we float away. Water is healthy, right?
We are going to stop writing poetry, and stop fooling around. We are going to clean out that dirty microwave.
It will be sparkling clean, so we can allow others to use it. We will no longer be ashamed of it.
I open the door and peek in, wondering if I should start with it.
Maybe I should call my husband and have him bring me a new one.
This one is really disgusting.
We have no rags here.
The kitchen sink at school is broken.
I cleaned this desk-top on Friday and it is still a big mess.
Why perpetually clean this?
I lift one thing in the corner, and a mouse trots out.
Do I really want to see another mouse fountain?
I already saw that once in my garage.
This is what it was like.
I was cleaning and I kept hearing a crickle crackle crickle crackle.
I turned and stared at a garbage bag I had not looked in for a number of years.
I still have no idea what else was in there.
A mouse ran out, then two, then five, then gobs of mice ran out, like an overflowing fountain.
When they were finished running I threw the bag away without looking in it to see what was there.
I truly did not want to know. Remembering this, I decided not to clean today. Maybe tomorrow.

Premium Member Butterfly Elf Man Looks So Stern

Butterfly elf man had a reputation for being a softie
Even though he looked stern, borderline determined even.
Not that it’s a bad thing, but he did not look whimsical or frolicking.
He looked serious, yet still, butterflies flocked to him.
Is he almost mean? Someone wondered aloud.
The butterflies tittered and twittered at this.
They knew he had to keep a rough expression because he was soft.
If people knew how soft, they would trick and swindle him.
Out of his treasures, his wealth, his whatnots and whatevers.
He did not dare wink or blink when other humans approached.
Keeping a stern look that fooled everyone except butterflies.

The Revenue From Trasgressors

My name is The Law.
My face is stern
Toward transgressors,
But I can use
The fines they pay
Dropping into the coffers!

Premium Member Howard Stern

Sung to the tune of Charlie Brown by The Coasters

He has a face made for radio.
He's a tall freaky geek with a Pinocchio nose.
Howard Stern. Howard Stern.
He'll never learn, that Howard Stern.
He's gonna get nailed by the FCC.
"Why is everybody trying to crucify me?"
Topless lesbian guests are in his studio.
Where will it end? How far will he go?
Howard Stern. Howard Stern.
He'll never learn, that Howard Stern.
He's gonna get nailed by the FCC.
"Why is everybody trying to crucify me?"
Who has the biggest potty mouth?
Who makes prank calls to the White House?
Who again seems to be on his way out?
"Who me?"
"Yes you!"
"Ah geez."
Who gets fired from every job he gets
and despite it all never has any regrets?
Howard Stern. Howard Stern.
He'll never learn, that Howard Stern.
He's gonna get nailed by the FCC.
"Why is everybody trying to crucify me?"
You either love him or he's someone you despise.
In any event, his ratings rise and rise.
Howard Stern. Howard Stern.
He'll never learn, that Howard Stern.
He's gonna get nailed by the FCC.
"Why does everybody wanna crucify me?"

Premium Member The Howard Stern of Poetry

There's a side to me that many don't often see.
I can at times also be the Howard Stern of poetry.
So be forewarned whoever may give me a read.
If you are one who offends easily from crap that's just silly.
You may get offended now and then from the works of yours truly.
I can at times be at my stupidest when I attempt to be funny,
but I don't ever mean to offend anybody.
So should I offend anybody, this is my advanced apology.
That wasn't my intention. Please forgive me.
Apology not accepted? Then go to hell buddy.
Get the hell out of here. Disappear. Stay the hell away from me?
OR NOT?
Because I respond to "hate mail" most humorously.
I often find myself laughing in stiches from other's stupidity
and that's why I'm the Howard Stern of Poetry
because I really don't give a crap what others think about me,
except of course if they happen to be very close Friends and Family.
They are the only ones who sincere opinion of me, matter to me.

When things seem to go right
Struggle to feel clear grace

Premium Member shirley versus stern face

Shirley sallied forth with another amusing quip
Does she never take life seriously? Asked stern face
I chose to ignore him, preferring Shirley every day
She is always joking, stern face said to another woman.
She did not reply either.
Shirley enters the lunchroom with fairy dust and magic sparkles
Stern Face brings in gravel and disgust.

Premium Member Look That's Stern I Hold On

I look so stern
Because I'm close to the heart
Here in my mothers arms
I hold on
Such a serious look
I do impart
Yet I too do hold on
I hold on
Cheek to breast
Ear to heart
I listen as I clench and hold
I hold on
A mother's love
Never ends as long as she holds
Spirit to flesh
Flesh to flesh
Nurturing comes
From the tender fingers, hands and arms
The body and soul of mother
I hold...
I hold on
