He possessed a razor sharp mind
Slicing through problems
With a surgeon like precision
All the while dancing at the edge of sanity
One brilliant moment at a time
The blade of his brilliance
Flashed forward
Relativity speaking
Embraced by pop culture
Recognized, coveted for his mass appeal
Eyes piercing beyond the speed of light
He was born into and was a great mystery
Lining our minds, one question at a time
Curiosity's companion
Gravitational accomplice
Weighing infinities limitations
Searching the stars
Collecting what he lacked on earth
Content in his solitude
Personal grooming not of great concern
For he truly was incoruptably himself
His razor sharp mind
Chose not to cut his hair

“Not Squared-Away”
Crawling and sliding through slimy debris
Knees scraped raw on the gritty hanger bay
We’re sailors on the carrier Coral Sea
Crossing the equator this bright April day
Our shellback ordeal-just good-natured hazing
A navy tradition; great nautical fun
Like pagons, it’s old King Neptune we’re praising
Great Zeus, let this filthy business be done!
Now shellbacks! We’ve made it unscathed, more or less
We toss our soiled clothes out to the ocean breeze
But I find myself in one hell of a mess
For I left my wallet in my dungarees!
Now drifting away is my navy ID
A grave offense if it’s lost or misplaced
It will no doubt be captain’s mast for me
Where I’ll be demoted! Denounced! Disgraced!
I stand at attention, rigid and straight
The captain shouts: You are not squared-away!
Sweating bullets, I ponder my dire fate
I’ll surely be thrown in the brig today
A lost ID at sea is close to a crime
A gross dereliction, stupid but rare
On just bread and water I will do my time
As I topple down the steps to despair
In solemn dread I now report to the chief
With a churning stomach and anguished mind
But now all fear lifts and I sigh in relief
As he snaps: Get to work; were falling behind

EARTH:
Blossomed and beaten, then nurtured and tilled,
Burnished and buckled, soon blackened and chilled.
Partisan, personal, some conquered and fought for,
Torn down and built up, all bartered, yet paid more.
WIND:
From every corner they blow, shrill cadence and call,
The moist warmth of spring, the crisp cuddle of fall.
They will ravish the birds, they will ravage machines,
Wild whimsies of women who are caught in between.
FIRE:
He crackles orange glee what our passion remembers,
Popping scarlet orbs swiftly from footprints in embers.
All forms he has known from a cave mans' first shout,
He is quite lovely to look at, but truly deadly left out.
WATER:
Surging and crashing, cresting angry steel gray,
Receding and cleansing, churning vivid green spray.
Now becalming bright topaz, her skin liquid jewel,
She beckons the sailor and beguiles the brave fool.
All stood before time as steadfast witnesses would.
God creates, not abates. We can not. But HE could.
I live in a place called Canada
where it's always hot or cold
Our bodies adjust accordingly to the freeze or burn of toes.
We have four season's unlike the rest,
and id say its quiet a scene,
But when you're here you cherish the sites
for there's so much to do and see.
We speak Enlgish- We speak French , and not one is all the same
But we do our best in hopes to include all equally just the same.
Up here in norther Canada we do all we can do
but when it's minus fifty eight we're also inside too.
Sometimes it's hot and sometimes it's not, in upper Canada
That's why we try to stay outside- when our weather is just right.
Canada can be the place to be
If its meant for you.
You'll stay with us and all the rest
All just because you want too.
Einsteins Grant, is what he said
Then stuck his tongue out loud
And he laughed and laughed and laughed
In my head...
EMC squared
Is a dare so to speak
Little riddle in the middle
Of a layer...
So I peaked
At how many days are really in a week
And at how many hours a soul takes to leap
Into just one portal
With two bare feet
E M C square
5+13+3= 21 squared Is 441
5+1+3+3=12 squared Is 144
And together they are 585
emc
543 and
cme
345 are
888 and twice are 1776 x 12 = 21312 'bacab'
twelve because 5+4+3 = 12
and so does 3+4+5 = 12 x 1776 = 21312 'bacab'
oh and look by Chance... 1776 / 24 = 74
...and these numbers by far
Are in a plane sight for sure.
you can't diss me if i don't think i'm dissable...
you can't shun me if i don't think i'm shunnable...
you can't yank my chain if i don't think i'm yankable...
and...
you can't love me if i don't think i'm lovable.
The End
Distance Squared
The speed of light
is exactly how fast
my heart sends;
every prayer,
every good thought,
every perfect wish!
The bright candle between us,
it is the sun itself.
The solar wind fills the sails
of my forever ship,
longing to journey to you.
Mermaid,
sunfish,
nova
eclipse,
the moon is full,
and I am lost in space.
FREE SPIRIT’S
walk down the road, wherever it leads
as free spirits, we sing to the trees
as free spirits, we do as we please
ease ourselves through many gaps
always alert, there are no perhaps
could cost us dearly, manmade traps
laps at the dew drops, many a deer
polluted earth, all living in fear
climate warming the heat doth us sear

Another new form created by Jane Dougherty ‘Three Squared’, self-explanatory this one, three stanzas, tercet, eah line 9 syllables long and mono rhymed as in AAA, BBB, CCC.
Iam a wheel, a circle in my geometry;
Looking for a placement, a place to be in my reality;
My anatomy is Blended;
I'm trying not to be offended;
I'm adhered and squared;
Trying to find my true circle;
SQUARED ENCIRCLED-
Somewhere offended;
Mystified and misdirected;
I am a circle and I'm searching,
For my corners;
I'm a circle in the world of dishonor;
Help me O' Father find my ? square
No longer confused and flustered;
SQUARED ENCIRCLED

I Equals MC Squared
It's the secret you told
never young never old
to her eyes when she wanted to see
and the deepest of you
was a thing that she knew
though you hid, it was all meant to be.
In the plan of all things
for all beggers and kings
in a manner of speaking it's free
but the price is so high
that you sell never buy
and she needs to know how it could be.
There's a song you have heard
and she sings every word
you must sing them along in her key
and her voice soft and clear
is the sound you will hear
through the rest of your life willingly.
If you touched her you'd die
or melt into the sky
so you hide everything that you know
from her eyes that have seen
all that it's ever been
when she looked then you let it all show.
She's the dream in the night
and the dream in daylight
and the dream is where ever you go
like a mist in your mind
and you never can find
any end to the dream that you know.
So you hide in your shell
every word that you tell
every time that she looks there to see
and she wonders at you
what you never can do
how you cling to what never can be.

It was the best
of the New York Times.
It was the worst
of the New York Times.
But honey,
I can't meet the president.
I forgot to charge
My toothbrush.
Must we offend
with halitosis
In these abundant times?
She didn't answer,
Because she only exists
in my imagination,
And doesn't need
further explanation.

finding different, loving, lasting ploys

Why… this power!
So strong
So so strong
Like rocket ship in launch
Blasting up
In mid air it goes
Leaving behind the earth
With a mighty force
Ripping up the surface
So terrible
So so terrible
I am taken off course
Out of myself
That has strength
Look at me
A child so frightened
As if not seen ships in launch before
Frazzled, be-dazzled
Oh this power is strong
So so strong
I have forgotten the science behind a launch
Yet the same Physics
Leaves me in helpless wonder
The same atoms breaking
Ever consuming everything
So so everything
There is no stopping this force
It is beyond its own
My so seemed vulnerabilities
Frailty threading through my bone
Turned defenseless
I fall
I so so fall
waiting for
the ball to drop
thinking thoughts
most folks forgot or
didn't even think about
it's only
nine A M and
my balls are already
waiting to be dropped
but my baby says no no not
so to hold
and to keep i
