Best Spurring Poems

Premium Member Of Passions I Own

Sensing and yearning allure of daydreams
My musings amble in meadows of themes,
Sometimes wowing ebullience of dawning,
Sometimes luxuriating in moonlit evening
Gazing lambent skies of stellar twinkling,
Inviting me to echo my inner most feelings;

Of whispers romantic when love is courting,
Of giggling streams and blossoming springs,
Of resplendent autumn’s falling gilded leaves,
Of fate unkind, bawling, in throes of grief,
Of pristine joy beaming from mother’s eyes
Jubilant in delight of child’s innocent smile;
Of ebb and flow to life in seasons undulating
Spurring me to attribute form and meaning.

So, I write verses stemming from core of soul
Striving to capture essence of elusive words,
Exploring assonance, even in rhymeless prose,
Attempting to inspire spirit of wordless woes
As thoughts-poetic heart’s rhythms compose;

Of chromatic sunsets and scintillating dawns,
Of starless nights hosting tenebrous bygones,
Of tales strumming romance, of fables forlorn,
Of ideas enthroned, of paradigms bemoaned,
Of boundless expressions, of passions I own.

Premium Member On the Crest of a Wave

Navigating vast oceans of life, negotiating its lows and highs,
Some blissful of pure joy, some burdened in griefs and sighs,
Riding aspirations eternal, rowing vigor of happiness I ride,
Undulating on tides of love, with your smile gracing my side.

On the crest of a wave, surging with gale, O, fondly we sail,
Reveling life’s sweetest moments, dreams amorous unveil,
Sketching themes periwinkle, tinting blush of rosy twilight,
Whispering secrets passionate, pleading to romantic night.

As stars above twinkle, in harmony with melodies of skies,
Hearts sensuous bloom desires, inflaming enamored eyes,
Spurring moods of romance, Venus and the Moon revive,
Flirting with colorful nebulae, where passions stellar thrive.

Anticipation builds, propelling us with exuberance of seas,
As lands in yonder delight, where zephyrs of hope breeze,
Foretelling of an ebullient morning, inscribing motifs of glee,
Glistening skyline golden, where promises auspicious spree.

Approaching our destination, we foresee realms of morrow,
Devoid of hurricanes of yore, devoid of miseries of sorrow,
Having parted stormy coastline battered in travails of throes,
Exiting cheerless shadows, vying winsome, sunlit meadows.

Premium Member When Butterflies Dance to Moon's Song

Curving, swirling, in moonlit stance, butterflies merrily dance,
Undulating tenor of nocturnal music, beneath stellar expanse,
When celestial orchestra plays, occult notes of galactic tune,
As titillations of love croon, mystical lyrics of melodious moon;

Echoing doting rhythms, twinkling revelry of luminous stars,
In realms magical, scintillating thrones of Venus and Mars,
As longings of soul blossom, spurring reveries of romance,
Where I decode latent missives, glinting your esoteric glance;

Enamored in tones ambrosial, humming riffs of moon song,
Cherishing sweet promise of love, reverberating lifelong,
Exalting fantasies of awe, emanating from ethereal heart,
Edifying ecstasies of morrow, as shadows of bygones depart;

Enlivening themes longed for, in womb of romantic night,
As we embrace paradise of passion, desires ecstatic ignite,
Lauding refulgent beams of moon, glistening fervid space,
When ardent images of grace, memories beloved retrace;

Waltzing in airglow above, thrilling on wings of butterflies,
Attuning to sound of music, resounding in lambent skies,
Choreographing a ballet love, rowing aura of galactic stream,
Enchanting sensuous theme vying shores of utopian dream.

Premium Member Inner Sanctum

Privileged is the right of ingress, bearing your beloved name,
To chambers of your heart, where burns a sacred flame,
Of inner sanctum divine, in sanctity of a heavenly place,
Strumming beats esoteric, vying ataraxis of ethereal grace.

Reserved for you and I, is a secret temple, tolling solace,
Where love and life embrace, in a sanctuary pure, flawless;
Where the bells echo, beckoning will of empathetic mind,
Affirming proclivity for affinity, aligned with motives kind.

When solitary thoughts linger on a grievous path of life,
When hurdles, detours of past, manifest anguish of strife,
When hurricanes and storms churn in destructive tides,
To shores of peace and tranquility, inner sanctum guides.

When life drives rudderless, perturbed in dubious plight,
Harmony of sapience and prudence transmit inner light,
Spurring verse of wisdom, as missives enlightened chime,
Defying apathy and ignorance, honoring virtues sublime.

Only you and I can soothe, troubled tears of grieved sigh,
Only you and I can fill voids, when vacuously life goes awry,
As dialogue of reason and intellect inner sanctum revives
Empowering thoughts so inspired, where sagacity thrives.

Premium Member Golden Leaves of Autumn Delight

Golden leaves of autumn delight
Where season flaunts hints of romance
Blazing passions of smitten sight
As themes chromatic swirl and dance.

Charming dreams of romantic eyes
Golden leaves of autumn delight
As twilight blushes on mauve skies
Lauding missives of zealous night.

While amber notions waltz in flight
Spurring thrill of flaxen meadows,
Golden leaves of autumn delight
As tunes of love heartbeats compose.

Crimson motifs gelid winds blow
Twirling, whirling, as they alight,
Where gilded canvas glints on snow
Golden leaves of autumn delight.

Fading Porch Light

Fading porch light lures with pale glow
a circling moth, dull-beige and bare.
As starlight ties vast sky in bows,
I shy away from ruthless glare.

Night holds secrets I’ll never know
of bold ventures and starry-eyes
of love; cast alone in shadows,
I cry. The fading porch light dies.

Unwelcomed guest, the moth again
boasts of heights, flitting and spurring
my desperate cries - through open
window, lifting higher, whirring.

Moth seeks light on wings now broken
forever gone, my dreams unspoken…

Premium Member A Nightingale Sings of Dawn's Glory

Cobwebs of thoughts dangle in forlorn corner
Spun by emotions that surrendered long ago
Still hanging out, anguished, in grip of throes
Engrossed in silence while gazing night skies
Admiring how they once painted astral designs
Brush stroking delight by sheer hint of eyes
Until the silken threads of lives ripped apart,
Each filament eagerly tearing webs of hearts.

Regrets of passion buzzed roiling wistful lives
When placid frontiers encountered stormy tides
Sailing smooth surfs that callously turned wild
On oceans unfamiliar to the benevolent minds
Beckoned by allure of prairies shamrock green
Thinking out there grew a garden of paradise~~
Abundance of blossoms their lives couldn’t have,
Squandering foolishly bond of love they had.

Yet, the darkened nights they traversed all alone
Heard repertoire of enchanting mirthful tone
Wooing love, having crossed thousands of miles,
Reminding them~ you don’t just abandon life,
Trilling tunes of affection in imploring oratory
Teaching humans secrets of romantic allegory
When the dawning on horizon gleams lapis lazuli
And a doting nightingale sings of dawn’s glory.

Promise of hopeful day glimmered their insights
Spurring their spirits to revisit places of delight,
Those they painted once by sheer hint of eyes,
Reassembling the filaments torn apart by time
Proceeding soon mindfully to rebuild their nest
Excited once again to hear chirps of hatchlings
When the dawning on horizon gleams lapis lazuli
And a doting nightingale sings of dawn’s glory.

Premium Member Cul-De-Sac

Stars were twinkling high, glinting moonlit sky,
As missives of love on scarlet winds buoyed
Indulging passionate desires, enamoring pleas
Of elated longings, strumming pulse of glee,
Spurring romance, blooming heart’s dream,
As you arrived cheering fervid night of spring.

Oh, how I missed a beat, lauding your beauty,
When you enticed me, smiling affectionately,
Alluring with a glance that dazzled in promise
Of our magical evening enchanting, esoteric,
As together we propelled to world of fantasy
Beyond realm ordinary, scripting fabled story.

Alas! as we approached a paradise heavenly,
How playfully you blew a kiss, abandoning me,
On auriferous cul-de-sac of forbidden street
When you entered a glittering palace for fairies;
Leaving me in awe of a world ornate, unique,
A land of mythical vitality, of utopian ecstasy.

Beyond hope, beyond reach, as you vanished,
No path I could see past the forbidden street,
Trapping me where I idolized your heartbeats;
Perplexed, yet cognizant, here I would rather be,
Hypnotized in your reality of a flirtatious night,
Exploring reveries beyond cul-de-sac of my life.

Premium Member Hysterical Blindness

Sure as spring-ebullient cedes to summer’s escapades
In vagaries of time a budding flower parches and fades
And the sweet sound of hatchlings abandons its nest
And autumn’s gilded leaves perish in throes of decay
And dethroned from its apex, sun-glorious as well sets.

Much alike nature, as life unleashes unsettling events
For some, its turbulence triggers hysterical blindness
And esteem that waxed to full-moon begins to wane
Akin to a sunny day that darkens and suddenly rains
Or flame of desires extinguishes in lovelorn marriage.

Purpose and meaning no longer wield a special clout
As soul of vigor confused harbors despondent doubt
And sense of self deteriorates into endless distraught
Till a beloved hand of compassion lovingly reaches out
Reconsolidating its ego, letting spent passions sprout;

Spurring momentous days, seizing thrilled moments,
Un-remembering yesterday, rejoicing bliss of present
Knowing tomorrow’s fate isn’t as assured as today’s,
Cognizant of transience and impermanence of being,
For now is real as can be, for tomorrow may be elusive.

Premium Member Stepping Through Time

A gauzy haze rises from the flickering gas light,
                      revealing the face of a blushing coquette.
             Stepping through time in voluminous dress, bustled and bowed,
                                       a petite silhouette.
              She offers her hand to the handsome uniformed, callow cadet.

                        She moves with eloquence, poise and grace;
     He, smitten by her charming demeanor, peaceful, porcelain, angelic face.
                      Flustered at first, heart pounding accepting his advances,
                           a gentle kiss and lingering embraces.

            The afternoon brought festivities of equestrian competition.
         Young cadets, eager to advance, entered to raise their rank and position;
        His prowess boasted by the charm of his lady admirer's recognition.

She arrives in a brimmed bonnet, settling in her seat, vying for clear view;
                          Awaiting her chivalrous cavalier,
             preparing, taking position, for the race to ensue.

                          A shot is fired, she sees him from afar,
                  waving his silk flag of gold, green and blue.

           Gallant and proud, spurring his steady steed without yield.
  Thunderous hooves in a cloud of dust, neck and neck as he rounds the field;
        Pursing only, the love of his lady, and winning the coveted, golden shield.

Premium Member Splendor of Nature

Glinting glimpse of amber delight, golden dawn arrives
Enchanted by the symphonious chorus of robins’ voice
As yellow daffodils swing, lilting winds in ruby sunrise
When scented whiffs of pink hyacinth muse your smile
Awakening you from rosy dreams gleaming in your eyes;
Oh, the splendor of spring floats on wings of butterflies!

Hiding in foliage of tall verdant pine, bluebirds twitter joy
While merrily on red-maple tree sparrows dance nearby
As purple peonies, white daisies, on green-edges beautify
And standing tall in blazing colors ornamental tulips vie
Hypnotizing your sight, in awe of beautiful garden paradise;
Oh, the splendor of spring floats on wings of butterflies!

Refracting sun rays, tiny gems glint emerald green grass
While roses red, swaying merrily, adorn our side-walks
Spurring crimson-crested cardinal’s euphoric air dance
As flaunting graceful ambiance, a distinctive blue-jay flies
Circling lily of the valley, where buzzing bees fantasize;
Oh, the splendor of spring floats on wings of butterflies!

As the uplifting sunbeams upon morning’s horizon rise
Amid symphony of colors sensual impulses romanticize
Mesmerizing lyrics of love as rhythms of hearts harmonize
Hoisting tenor of passions high, blushing sapphire skies
Enamored in grandeur of nature’s wondrous enterprise;
Oh, the splendor of spring floats on wings of butterflies!

Premium Member Waking To Snowfall

I woke this morning to the sound of sleet tapping on my windows but after several minutes there had been a hush. I looked out and saw a soft blanket of snow. Not in itself cause for wonder, but in New Orleans it's very unusual. It was only a couple of inches, but it was the impetus for this write.

          *                   *

They twirled in the swirling wind
     No costume worn, ever twinned
each a beauty that transcends ~
     each crystal from the sky descends

I danced among them like a child
     filled with wonder, I was beguiled
until I realized and sorrowfully felt
    my touch was spurring them to melt

From my window I watched, enthralled
     as feathery fliers they lay sprawled
safe from the heated warmth of me
     a flock of snowflakes, a Winter flurry

Premium Member Cross Over To Tomorrow

When I recall the tenebrous, gruesome shadows
Shrouding our lives conjuring deaths and sorrows,
In my vantage-point, I envision a massive bridge
Standing there resolutely over turbulent waters
Beckoning me avidly to cross over to tomorrow
Promising the other side is now within my reach
And travails of the yore will soon be behind me.

Yet, I feel fear gripped in jaws of deadly throes
And sense saddened tears fretting abyss of woes
So I summon courage, spurring resolve to cope,
Drawing assurances in embrace of my beloved
Entrusting-- in despair too-- grow seeds of hope
Believing in the promise of scientists, medicines,
And heroes who sacrifice in service of humanity.

Beyond that bridge are the pristine green prairies
Cheerfully inviting me to joy of winsome spring
Where glee of vibrant season burbles in streams
Washing away remnants of yesteryears’ misery
Frozen in gelid winters when lives were stilled,
As I continue trekking to dreams of my dawning
Aiming to arrive there clasping strength of family.

Advent of Spring 2

ADVENT OF SPRING

It was as though a sign had been received.
The master plan, held back, now causing stirring
As if nature’s endocrines had been released
Flooding all the world with catalytic spurring

Pre-dawn the Song Thrush first perceived the moment
Her triple prelude showed she could recapture
(As day broke, light in softer glow bestowment)
Her first symphony of blissful, careless rapture

On this cosmic stage light rose imparting sheen
And sun lent equinoctial warmth to nourish
The hedgerows that had barely hinted green
Were now transformed to full fresh verdant flourish
A delicate jade mist veils sylvan canopy
Sweet Spring is clothing Nature in full panoply
