Cotton candy castles

When you look closely at an idea,
it has no weight.
The holes seem to weigh
more than the thought itself
The idea can never happen.
It can never be real.
It is too preposterous,
too stupid.
The light is shined into
the cavity of a brain, and
the ideas melt away like
bits of spun sugar melting
in your mouth. Small, Insignificant
Fluff never to be seen again.
You try to save the fluff.
Keep it from the light.
But no matter how
the idea hides, it cannot
escape the scrutiny of the
world. The idea flees
from the light, and
collides with another
idea fleeing the same fate.
The holes from one idea
fill in the holes of the other.
The idea grows
Bigger, and collides
with more ideas. Their
holes gaining more and
more weight until
they are what the world calls
concrete.
Now the idea is something
to be reckoned with.
The idea could change the
world. It could bring an
alternate eternity
into life. The idea could
do ANYTHING.
It continues to grow
little spun fibers of
fluff gathering speed,
gathering power, gathering
weight.
Until the weight is too
much to hold the holes
together, and the idea
is scattered, like fluff
in the wind. The weight
of the wholes, is more than
the weight of the idea.

Premium Member Contrary Kisses

Snow fell in dollops, in kite like laziness
too wet to stay white except in the margins.
The contrary air kisses each flake
melting each heart of ice.
Bittersweet the temperature falls.
Teardrops cling to greedy braches
reminiscent of hand stitched jewels
on a queen's gown.
The matted margin of lingering grass
crisps like spun sugar
snow flakes on the lash of night.

Premium Member Summer Rain

summer rain

cotton candy clouds
whispy trails like spun sugar ~
  sly mists mask the skies

muggy breathless air
leaves hang limp upon their boughs ~
  mute the summer song

heat in mirages
 shimmering waves sweltering ~
  sweet star jasmine blooms

winds like banshees rise
 hypnotic dust shadows spin ~
  crickets take cover

monsoon clouds rumble
 dark humid fury gathers ~
  lightning waits to strike

thunder bumpers swell
 full of humid heaviness ~
  fevered fireballs flair

muggy raindrops fall
 scent of rain on sidewalks
  drought runs for its life.

Premium Member A Carnival Night of First Love

On a warm summer evening
we are pinned together on the octopus ride,
twirling with excited pleasure.
Even the breeze we swirl through
cannot cool us down,
for the passion of new love
consumes us.

We browse along the Midway,
and he buys for me spun sugar on a stick.
Later we sit buckled in on the seat
of a huge lit-up ferris wheel.
It circles round and round as we swing our legs
while surveying the bustling gleeful folk below.
I shiver with a fever
of anticipation.

At the pinnacle of our last go-around
on this gigantic wheel,
the ride hovers there in the cooling night air.
The stars above us seem to be dancing with delight.
He leans over and his lips meet mine.
I taste the sweetness of cotton candy
and melt into our first kiss,
never wanting again to come back down
to earth.

I wake up to clear blue skies
I stretch, I'm feeling fine
Got this carefree attitude
Nothin' on my mind
my friends are coming over
Everything is right
Its gonna be a perfect day
A piece of paradise

I don't know how, You talked me onto
A coaster, goin' upside-down
As I let the breeze blow across my face
It turns around my frown

The rhythm of a drummers beat
Makes me want to take a chance
Make me want to move my feet
Forget my cares and dance

As carnival lights flash into the sky
And the stars shine up above
I look into the glowing eyes
Of all the people I love

This is the moment of paradise
Cotton candy clouds
And perfect blue skies
I let myself float away
On the summer breeze
And catch a spun sugar second
Of pure happiness
As the world swirls around us
I let this moment freeze
Painting the perfect picture
Of paradise

Premium Member Nature Will Go On No Matter What It Will Evolve

Immortal land awakes through dusk and dawn
Beneath ceiling spun sugar and midnight blue.
Wind's breath trill of tiny song accrues through
ardent woodlands, rivers, and natures gentle fawns.

Tears of life stream with allure and glamor
Dreams grow draping over nature's life in each
Branches newly bereft of leaves, tips reach
Gilded sunrise bonding souls and laughter

Ocean's emotion echoes deep shifting realm
Its grace untouchable in its deepest depth
As it attains its greatest heavens breadth
ancient secrets adhered on coral helm

Come To My Table

I’ll serve you a plate of delicacies
To fulfil all of your weird fantasies.

A bowl of soup with a floating fish eye
A side of fried crickets piled to the sky.

There will be escargot in golden shells
Not the kind once found in mossy wells.

Octopus tentacles brought to the table
Plenty of squid if you think you’re able.

For desert, a green spun sugar tower
A hundred-year egg, an edible flower.

But ,if that does not to you seem a treat
There’s a McDonalds right down the street!

What To Remember Instead of Casablanca

You must remember this, the way the young French waiter
pronounced her name, Sarah Vog-gan
singing "April in Paris, chestnuts in blossom,
This is a feeling, No one can ever reprieve..." And how
on a small balcony in Paris where God spends His
summers, a baguette blessed with supper wine is holy.
How Green is the property of street-lined sycamores,
bursting giants of June. And, Blue, the divine province
of Bleu de Paris, a sky gold-kissed in a sly embrace until
no one misses the sun behind summer's spun-sugar
clouds. And, pray you then, think of those mysterious
shape-shifters in the Ebouie' fountain when bereft
of seas, rivers, crystalline mountain streams,
the softly heard roaring of their leonine songsters
took us to a place where the salmon leap,
their hearts bursting for home.

The Chocolate Pear Shop

BAKED ALASKA GRINNED THROUGH THE SNOWY WINDOW,
CREPE-SUZETTE NICELY SAT ITSELF ON A FANCY PLATE BELOW,
NEW YORK CHEESECAKE WAS FIT AND STRAIGHT FROM QUEENS,
STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING CLUNG ITSELF WHATEVER THAT MEANS.

THE LADY CHEF WITH THE COOKING CAP WRESTLED WITH SPUN SUGAR,
WHICH WRAPPED ITSELF AROUND HER GENEROUS BOSOM THUS FAR;
ORANGE PUDDING WAS SET IN ITS WAYS, GELATINE HAD GOOD DAYS,
STRAWBERRY GATEAU EASED ITS WAY BETWEEN LIPS MOST WAYS.

IT WAS CLOSED ON A SUNDAE BUT OPEN AGAIN ON MONDAY,
YOU COULD SEE THE LADY WITH THE CAP CHASING PANCAKES AWAY,
THE CREAM IS BETTER HERE - NONE OF THAT SLOPPY THIN STUFF,
YOU KNEW AFTER ALL THE 'SLIP AND SLIDE' - YOU'D HAD ENOUGH.

CHOCOLATE RAN DOWN THE SIDE OF FRUIT, STAND AND STARE,
THE COATING WAS ENOUGH - I'VE ALWAYS LIKED A NICE PEAR.

1983 Forever

Autumn sky is company,
in leaf filled tornados I am free.
In all these hues,
It's the blues I see.

Your voice,
a rustle in the wind,
a rumour,
a murmur,
the hole in my heart,
blood that escapes my veins.

I long for a home,
a bird forever on the wing,
never a song to sing.

These windows are my prison.
I force the tree's spiteful limbs
into witches' fingers.
Tree fingers,
hoping to cast a liberty spell,
but spells fall not on the dead of heart.

I am futile,
I am spun sugar,
brittle,

a
lone
ingredient,

that which has no place in the mouth of your existence.

Christmas Confections

Visions of candy canes, swirling red and white stripes,
Pirouette through our dreams spinning Christmas delights;
Sugar sticks and sugar plums tweak our imaginations
When bright store windows show off marshmallow creations ~
 				~ ~ ~
Truffles and toffee nestled near gumdrops red and green
Spun sugar delights fit for a queen;
Peppermint bark, only seen once a year,
Graces gingerbread houses when in villages they appear ~
				~ ~ ~
Raspberry candies filled with gooey, sweet centers
Hold hands with ribbon candy - childhood remembers;
Creations of fudge draw our attentions
Chocolate and maple, vanilla nut confections ~
				~ ~ ~
Sugar and cinnamon coats nuts of every variety
When coal lumps of licorice invite stocking anxiety;
Pralines, nonpareils, cocoa snowballs, chocolate mints
Sour stars and lollipops leave a holiday footprint ~

The gypsy moth’s nest
clung like cotton candy, spun sugar;
wet and weighty to the pendulous boughs,
of white birch and maple
a deadly adornment shrouding the forest
in an air of decay.

A miasma of atmosphere
Muffled the morn;
dampening the resolve
mystifying the mundane
multiplying the cloying scent
of fallen leafs;
solidifying the webs of moth and man
unifying the monochrome scene.
