Premium Member Life Is a Song

Chorus of ecstatic themes, lyrical refrain of dreams, life is a song,
Of valued relationships, earnest friendships, that long to belong,
Of courtships, love, and passion; igniting romantic flame of heart,
Of memories nostalgic, sensuous mellifluous melodies impart.

A passage on rough seas, vying abode upon shores of morrow,
Through storms of yesteryears, defying hurricanes of sorrow,
Traversing to joy of springs, rising from decay of wintry woes,
Aspiring to future of sunny days, exiting past of gloomy shadows.

An odyssey ethereal, harmonizing life’s verses, in stanzas of time,
A symphony melodious, extolling serenity of journey sublime;
In ballroom of glamor, life is an exotic ballet~ an enthralling dance,
Grooving doting realms of love, sponsoring concert of romance.

Sonorous is resonance of life, serenading bequest of benevolence,
Reverberating in goodwill vibes, defying grimace of malevolence,
Tranquil in hymns lauding reverence, heartbeats cadent compose,
Humming chords of empathy, teachings compassionate chose.

Celebrating life; applause and laughter abound, in gleeful sound,
When emanating from hearts and minds, tolls of felicity resound,
When treasured albums of love and joy~ prompt us to sing-along
Proclaiming in rhapsodic beats, rising to crescendo: life is a song.

Premium Member A Ghost's Testimony Co-Written With Jack Horne

*NOTE: Jack and I wonder how many of you have heard of the Zona Shue case –
an American murder victim who had revenge in Virginia in the late 1800s.
Zona was killed by her husband, Edward Shue, who then took elaborate steps to
cover his crime. In an attempt to disguise Zona’s broken neck, Edward dressed her
corpse in a scarf and high necked dress, stuffed her coffin with pillows (to support
her vertebrae) and refused to allow even the doctor near the body.

However, Zona appeared to her mother and revealed the truth. Following
exhumation and an autopsy, Edward was found guilty of murder. It was the only
case in American history where information provided by a ghostly apparition was
admitted as evidence for consideration by jurors.

     Jack and I are co-sponsoring a contest on ghost poems. Our co-write "A Ghost's
Testimony" below will give you an idea what we're seeking in entries.

"A Ghost's Testimony"

"She must have fallen down the stairs:
A tragic accident," he said.
"I've washed her body, laid her out -
Oh, Doctor Knapp, my Zona's dead!"

"No accident! Shue broke my neck.
Mother, please hear my ghostly plea.
       Take him to court and make him pay;
It's murder in the first degree."

“I’ve dressed her in her high necked frock…
Thought pillows by her neck looked fine…
She’d want to wear this scarf,” he wept.
“But no one touch the corpse - she’s mine!”

"Thanks, Mom, for bringing this to court.
The autopsy was not done right!
With malice Shue cut my life short.
Exhume my body; shed some light."

“Her mother wants to see me hang,
But she can’t prove my guilt,” he fumed.
“She claims the body sheet turned red,
And wants to have my wife exhumed.”

       "The judge disagreed and allowed
       My spirit world testimony.
       Shue, my killer, was not so proud;
A death in jail for this phony!"

How do you define love?
I mean what is it really,

How can I feel so much love for so many
people here that I barely know
...because I do.

You have all been so kind and accepting of me.

Many of you know how I feel.
That I know I am not a poet.

I am not fishing for a compliment when I say this.
I know how kind you all are.
People have been more than complimentary
of my work here.
It is how I feel and I do not want to get
long winded as to why.
 It is what it is.

You have an amazing community here
don't let any one trample over it.
Keep supporting one another
Keep your loving ways.

No matter your religious beliefs
there is a light here that shines bright.
So I won't impose my beliefs but I think
I can safely say without offending
anyone this community is blessed.

Forgive those who stray, many of us here
are bruised some worse than others. We
make errors. Again I love the people here.
All the people here.

I have not been able to comment on others poetry
as much as I have wanted to of late.

I am especially sorry to my friends whose poetry
I have not frequented lately. How rude of me.
Everyone deserves their wonderful poetry read.
No excuses just I am sorry.

I want to thank all the people who placed me
in their contests and also thank those who
didn't. I believe in my heart of hearts people
always judged fairly. Sponsoring contests
is difficult everyone second guesses you.
In retrospect I learned and I grew from every
experience. Thank You.

So my loving friends, I am not here to say goodbye.
I am here to say au revoir!
I will be taking a small break from Poetry Soup.

I hope to return soon. To learn my limits poetically
and to stay within them. Enter less contests,
read more, comment more and post less.

I don't know how I can thank you all for your
unconditional kindness.
So many of you have touched my heart,
made me cry.
Sometimes sad, sometimes happy tears.

I am sorry because it is hard for me not
to love you all so much and I know it
must sound insincere but it is me
this is my heart, this is who I am
I love you because of your poetry,
because of your comments,
because you supported me even in my blindness
held my hand and showed me a path I could walk on.
How do you thank someone for that.

With All My Love Always,
Armand.

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

An Incomplete Love Story

This is entirely a fiction poem, just an example for the contest I am sponsoring

I can write the saddest of all poems tonight
Just like everyday it was quite an ordinay night
The moon was shining and the stars were bright
There I met her for perhaps the last time in our lives

There were tears in her eyes and I exactly knew why
Our story was going to end incomplete
no matter how much we tried
We both knew that such a love will never happen again
And there I promised that even till the last day of my life
I will only love her and if not her
then I shall never have another wife
Ahh I can write the saddest of all poems tonight

People say that in order to get our incomplete love
We are born again and again,
maybe we can't have each other in this life
But if we born again, shall you be mine?
Ahh, I can write the saddest of all poems tonight

Then we had our last kiss
A kiss of love which was true
A kiss that I didn't want to be through
A kiss so unsure
A kiss so gentle to endure
And it appeared that if we might not stopped
The Earth would have exploded
It was a kiss of couple who had lost their love's fight
Yeah, I can write the saddest of all poems tonight

Then her time for departure came
How could I had let her go
There were so many dreams
And in every dream there was her

Today people asked me that if we loved
each other then why we didn't marry
The fault was not hers neither I was the one to blame
Our parents couldn't do this, for them it was a shame
That their children marry to a person with a different religious claim

The problem was of religion and fate
One was a Jew where as the other preached Islam

Don't let them see us
tremble! – it is what
they want. Don't let
them drink our tears of
sorrow...it will prompt
them to create more
heartbreak tomorrow. let
them hear, loud and clear,
of our definitive resolve –
we will not be divided
and scattered – these
Marxist, racist scum,
will also pay, here on earth,
long before they reach the
fires of hell....

of Marxist, soulless DA's and Judges –
The squad, Pelosi's Luciferic Compatibles –
Time to Exorcise such swine, from their

our America Justice system, the very
same pens, they have manically emptied,
spilling criminal content back onto
the streets of our society, to

America's Lament

Slipping gently towards entropy,
Ownership with an apostrophe.
Braid the loose frays of sanity
Till something true finally answers me.

Troops are marching over many lands,
Tagged cornflower blue--a worldwide brand.
Don't speak out or you will be banned,
Towers implode just as they've planned.

Constantine merged Rome's faiths to one
Keeping time and step with Pagans.
Moloch laughs at our dull compassion
While Illuminati goals corrupt conception.

With a punitive eye beneath the skin
Mankind’s been declared the pathogen.
So an age of ignorance was ushered in
With aims to squelch the soul within.

Rotating parties deflect shared shame
Allowing complacency to be blamed.
Splintered populations can be tamed,
And bombs tend to leave bodies maimed.

Thieves steel gold and filch the free press,
Bobble heads working to keep up stress,
Businessmen sponsoring all this mess.
"We've got some pills if you feel depressed..."

We inherently trust their authority
As they outlaw nutrients due to toxicity.
In an effort to organize bioactivity
They count on our enduring apathy.

We protest lies, so they've built some pens.
Peace simply means they'll take our weapons.
"So go buy a widescreen for your den
To watch us start your wars again."

Even the name Bilderberg is a joke.
As they like it they’ve managed to fleece us broke,
Locking humanity into the yoke.
They sold the world lies before they ever spoke.

Crypto-eugenics is a fatal threat,
Academia functioning as a stooge pet.
Look into those eyes; they've got no regret
To kill us all off like they're clearing a debt.

Global control would only serve them well,
Micro chipped souls have no secrets to sell.
Salivate each time you hear their bell
Or they'll call themselves gods chasing you through hell.

Our oppressive puppet liars, they will not quit,
So don't waste breath saying, 'I'll submit.'
Words of our liberty are just and legit,
And truthful self-rule is a righteous fit.

When bureaucrats state dissent is treachery
In truth they've already sold their loyalty,
They still threaten our sovereignty.
Reclaim our human right to be free!

Simple Thank You

Congratulations for the win.
Its great honour sharing this august dias with thee.
Be it even a honourable mention, still a win.
Thank all participants who are the driving force
to such contests.

I am filled with much glee.
just an infant, in this site.
Firstly, I thank my childhood friend,
she stood firm like a rock, besides me.
Encouraging me to post my doodling,
 and share it with society.
Since I kept these doodlings to myself,
stored in my smart phone's memory.

Thank you all great poets.
Who gave such good reviews.
That motivates me by fueling my thoughts,
to meaningful words, creating those imagery.

I thank poetess Linda, for sponsoring this contest.
Which gave me an opportunity to present my doodlings,
encouraging me to further my poetic expedition.

Finally I thank the inventor of qwerty pad.
Since I hated pen and paper.

Redemption - the Game

Ever played our favorite game?
Not monopoly or oligopoly
You know, the other one
So what, they all end the same

The one with all the money
Always wins the game
My game is redemption
That's not how you play it

First you count how many souls
You saved along the way
You count up all your blessing cards
You save them to the end

You add up your donations
All gratuities and sponsoring
All pledges big or small
All helping hero biscuits

You count up your kids
And count up all theirs
You count up any other life
You helped in any way

So guess who wins the game
Guess who goes to heaven
You might be the one
Try to spin a seven

Bad Santa, Bad Santa

Santa Claus took from the NON-for Profit
" people who wish to marry fund"

Santa who doesn't eat Venision
heard that the "rights of Modern Men"
were sponsoring a Four Meat supper
to raise money for the
" People who wish to marry fund"
he asked one question, " are they serving Venision?"
the fella said yeah, and taters and yams, and those
sweet, sweet taters. " Oh yeah said Santa,

"not sear the deer". "Things their mothers have done, don't they
know better" " "They have a treasurer who drinks don't they"
"the fella said they sure do boss!" "they sure do!" Santa told him
that summa (beep) is gonna look foolish when

then he got on his sleigh and flow away.
when he returned,(two days later)
he just smiled and said "Christmas is saved!"
and everyone went back to work cheering for Ole Santa!
When asked, "what did you leave the fella for Christmas?"
He told him, " I left the (beep) absolutely nothing"
"I farted in his face when I walked by him sleeping"

Premium Member In Sponsoring a Contest

In sponsoring a contest, one should know
the basics of the poetry that he
is judging! If the form has got a flow
such as iambic, that’s what we should see!
Of course, there’s more to poetry than that.
Free verse we know is different from rhyme!
One ought to judge the forms that he’s good AT,
and with each entry that he gets, take time
to analyze those elements which should
be mentioned as what he is looking for
so entrants know what he considers “good:”
the message? Imagery? Succinctness? More?
If judging, I’d be clear with rules, and I’d
be nice to poets I could tell had tried!

Sweetest Starling

Sweetest starling, stand astounding.
Sleeping soundly, seasons passing,
Stay the startling sounds. Outstanding
Music sung, silence surpassing.

Sweetest starling, sight is sparkling.
Saturn stunned and Venus spiteful!
Scarify the sinful darklings,
Stillness of your style insightful.

Sweetest starling, swift as sunlight.
Sprawling, spreading luminousness.
Scraping stratosphere and space height,
Sponsoring salubriousness.

Sweetest starling, swaying sadness.
Stripèd sails, they soar sublimely,
Seizing sovranty with broadness,
Sealing it so secretively.

Sweetest starling, seeming stronger,
Kiss me soft and set out flying.
Though supposed to strive for longer,
Sweetest starling's slowly dying.

Lessons from God's Word

Birth? I do not recall the time or place.
The first thing I recall remembering -
Mom was having a home permanent done
and I was banished outside to the yard.
I'm Ruth, I learned rejection had foul smells.

My grandfather was a circuit-riding preacher;
my second home has always been the church.
There I was introduced to Jesus, the Christ
His Father, God and His book, the Bible.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

I went to college to be a teacher
and got to practice at Glendale Chapel
telling precious children - Jesus loves them,
reading the Bible and finding His words
like this one, as you go, tell folks about Me.

I found that teachers never quit learning
so in my twenties at Calvary,
University Church and Lewis Lane,
I played piano and sang in the choir -
Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised.

I learned to do ministry at Graceland
after I married and had two children.
Visiting folks in homes and hospitals,
jails, and schools, discovering The Lord’s command,
Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

At Wesley Chapel, I had wealth to share -
supporting missions, sponsoring youth camps,
At Sellersburg, we helped furnish back packs,
and made dishcloths to prompt folks to pray.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation

Life’s long lessons include another lesson:
by good works man can never gain salvation.
No, it’s Christ's’ life, death and resurrection
which brings eternal life to believers.
For by grace are your saved and that not of yourselves.
