An Incomplete Love Story

This is entirely a fiction poem, just an example for the contest I am sponsoring

I can write the saddest of all poems tonight Just like everyday it was quite an ordinay night The moon was shining and the stars were bright There I met her for perhaps the last time in our lives There were tears in her eyes and I exactly knew why Our story was going to end incomplete no matter how much we tried We both knew that such a love will never happen again And there I promised that even till the last day of my life I will only love her and if not her then I shall never have another wife Ahh I can write the saddest of all poems tonight People say that in order to get our incomplete love We are born again and again, maybe we can't have each other in this life But if we born again, shall you be mine? Ahh, I can write the saddest of all poems tonight Then we had our last kiss A kiss of love which was true A kiss that I didn't want to be through A kiss so unsure A kiss so gentle to endure And it appeared that if we might not stopped The Earth would have exploded It was a kiss of couple who had lost their love's fight Yeah, I can write the saddest of all poems tonight Then her time for departure came How could I had let her go There were so many dreams And in every dream there was her Today people asked me that if we loved each other then why we didn't marry The fault was not hers neither I was the one to blame Our parents couldn't do this, for them it was a shame That their children marry to a person with a different religious claim The problem was of religion and fate One was a Jew where as the other preached Islam

A sad poem indeed and the situation is not entirely uncommon and even though it is "fiction" here I'm sure many people can relate to it.

True love conquers all, and has a way of working miracles if its meant to be. A wondrous poem which I truly enjoyed Faraz. Nice example for a contest....Maria hugs

You entertain a multitude of bittersweet emotions that flitter and flutter away in the back of your mind. The imagery of this piece is well suited to the emotions solicited from the author, a battle between love and religion with dire reverberations. A poem offering poetic reflections on the essence of being human and sharing a feeling of love intrinsic to our species...and yet a social taboo. Emile.

A sad poem, for sure, when two people who love each other can't be together for whatever reasons.

Tragic like Romeo and Juliet, this kind of thing, Faraz. I enjoyed this one and how you had it be Jew with Muslim. I wonder if many of them ever come together in peace. You inspire me to want to try this challenge!

Yes. This type of tragic end is not uncommon 'cause of difference in religion, race or so-called family status. But to overcome is the true progress. I will put an almost similar story. Blessing.

Nature and genes have given us many features of our personality but certainly not religion ... This man made wall is a potential danger ... Your lovely poem I enjoyed so much ... Thank you for liking my Dancing Hall haiku ...

Hi Faraz, This is a good example for your contest. I will see what I can come up with. I believe in "Love". Because it is more powerful than ones traditions, race and beliefs. One should be free to love if they are lucky enough to find their one true love:-)Alexis

One life at a time my friend, Faraz and one girl at a time! If you keep being romantic like this the girl you dream to be with will be yours now and forever!

It is indeed a sad one. Myself my wife is Chinese and our son married an East Indian girl. We all mixed well together at the wedding celebration. Boundaries are a thing of the mind and minds can change.
