" Pardon me,
if my soul has been p a i n t e d ,
with a lavender lake of solemnity,
but, I'll f o r e v e r be a soulful siren,
navigating midst neon s e a f o a m s ,
and sculpting an origami of honesty
~ like the archangels of heavenly faith "
When the 'Swans of Sun'
sing in a soft echo,
behind silvery beams
of oceanic clouds,
I always become
a winter's twilight,
that misses those
subtle hues of silky spring,
as bittersweet stars
tremble and fall
upon my misty eyelids,
like ruby jewels,
scattered with
jasmine scents and
falling on glass-tulips.
My story is more than
speckles of glittery stardust,
for, you shall hear
the heartbeats of harp,
breathing within me,
and unfurling upon
lotus layers of harmony,
knitted by an eternal shine.
Perhaps, ice crystals floating
on puddles of sunrays,
too search for a purpose,
and compel life to chase
that rusting light,
escaping from
crackles of lead skies.
I wonder,
is my sakura moon,
a sea of pomegranate promises,
dipped in maple scars?
Perhaps, my muse
is forbidding me,
and my paper kingdom
of sage and saffron,
shall be soaked
in a scarlet sanctuary
of aching phrases ~
arching beyond
aqua ashes of brokenness.
There, my heart is crowned
on a bleeding rose,
as a 'spirit of rosemary runes',
when its tears trace the
luscious lips of petals,
laced with secrets, unseen.
I'll always narrate
these tangible tales
to red robins,
describing how a
dynasty of dreams
kept burning inside
my poetic flames,
carving vermillion silhouettes
across pastel pages,
where healing
will be sketched,
like a rhymeless perfume
and the immortal dove
will rest upon
a pearly crown
of snow-white hibiscus.
Nursery Rhyme
Children's Short story (Rhyme)
Little Ellie, loves her freckles
she counts them every night,
her friends call her 'Ellie speckles'
which fills her with delight!
she traces them with her finger
before she rests her head
in the mirror, she lingers
dallying if the truth be said,
little Ellie, loves her freckles
she bathes them every night,
her friends call her 'Ellie speckles'
which fills her with delight!
this night was like no other,
she froze in utter despair
screaming down to her mother
who came running up the stairs,
little Ellie, loves her freckles
she reads to them, every night
her friends call her 'Ellie speckles'
which fills her with delight!
vanished had Ellie's freckles
She had washed them off again ~
still wanting to be 'Ellie Speckles'
she drew them back with a pen
Soft, pastel-pink, aqua, sepia
Turning sharp, gold, striking
The sky is a willing canvas
Waiting to be kissed
By the palette of colours
Multi-shaded layers dapple the heavens
The pace of life is set to slow
Announced by the sleepy, restful sun
Her dying rays cast playful shadows
Open to interpretation!
Liquid gold outlines the classic oak tree
So near, and yet so far!
The firefly dances with excitement
Her luminous tail aglow
And the songthrush folds down her wings
Relaxing in the still warm air
Soft peach clings to the buildings
While strong apricot dresses the windows
From liquid gold to burnt orange
Now a mauve sheet covers the horizon
The crisp silhouette of the tawny owl
Graces the evening magenta sky
And the crickets begin their shrill song
Heralding the arrival of the long, dark night
Seductive winking stars and the creamy moon
Commence their clandestine romance
Wildlife dare not relax
Predators lurk in the jet black ether!
Gradually, the backdrop loses its ebony
And the scenery takes on an intense cobalt blue
The gentle dawn is slowly approaching
The softest lilac bedecks a fresh morning sky
Irridescent speckles espied through the laurel bush
Dewdrops like glass drape the orchid
Reflecting the fiery citrus blanket above
Before turning warm, cheerful lemon
And powder soft azure blue
This kaleidoscopic carpet starts its journey
On a never-ending cycle of wonder
With love I look at you
And see your eyes transform
To gaze into depths
Which carry a secret storm
A ring as dark as night
Around a golden sky
With speckles of dark stars
That bring my lips a sigh
They hold the world's wonders
A box of sins and hurt
A glimmer of light
That glows just like hope
With love you look at me
And I see into your eyes
Your soul bare and naked
From me you do not hide
Their gentle with a sadness
They shine as you laugh
They hold both parts equal
Experience of life and death
You stay hidden to the world
But you open up to me
And in your eyes my Darling
I see everything there is to see
With soft lashes they appear
Angelic in their own way
I watch as they close
And your anger drifts away
Unclothed I see your soul
In the doorway of your eyes
I could stare into them forever
Lost without a sense of time
A swirling gold wind
Speckles of dust
I thrust my neck in to feel this
I am bewildered, a smothered vine
floating into the ending
but I want to fight
Want to get up and break knuckles and limbs
to spread seeds
and say I mattered
This is the time we’ll remember and I can’t forget
that man on the corner
How we’re all allowed dreams
and those who shatter
are lessons for those who haven’t slept yet
I’m closing eyes to remember the fabric
of the depth of Godliness
The heat in my chest, the badness
And I’m weighing the contents of time to find
where I should be standing
Tightroping on the thin line before it’s enough
and my promises are voided as bluff
I’m mourning
Wailing against the sepulcher of my birth
The tomb of my purpose
And the dead leaves that surround the contents of my body
are ‘raptured’
There is no more time
We’re weeping in the instant we begin again
But they have left us
with our own salvation in our hands
and nowhere to go
No peace to find sleep
Good mourning
With broken wills...and poisoned pills
Darkness groomed with a long black vale
With shimmering shadows...like a rusty rose
Twinkling in twilight with colors pale
Glimmering glows...from head to toes
The blackness runs through veins
Starlit smile...only lasts awhile
Only the shining silence remains
Sparkling speckles of light...is why I write
Dark matter oozing from a black hole
A Black Diamond...like a singing siren
Within the depths of the Soup Bowl.

( To be sang to the tune of, " Steppin' Time "
From the musical Mary Poppins... )
( Rams )
Here's the farmer, tuppin' time!
Here's the farmer, tuppin' time!
How many girls will we meet this time?
Here's the farmer, tuppin' time!
( A Ewe )
Here's the farmer, tuppin' time.
Hey you girls, this Ram is mine!
And I think he's so divine!
Here's the farmer, tuppin' time!
( Another Ewe )
This one's strong and full of might.
He has speckles that are white.
And his " Baaa! " sounds just like mine!
Here's the farmer, tuppin' time!
( Rams )
Will our lambs be Ram or Ewe?
Will our sheep have one or two?
We must wait for nature too...
We must tuppin' til we're through!
( An Independent Ewe )
Well, those Rams can keep their place!
I won't fall for a square face!
" Tuppin's not for me! " I'll say.
If they come near, I'll run away!
( All Sheep x2 )
Here's the farmer, tuppin' time!
Baa ba baa baa baa baa baa!
Here's the farmer, tuppin' time!
Baa ba baa baa baa baa baa!
On the day you wore my heart a flowering Hat
My mind's wall, dripped away liquid
sorrowful Content that
weighted innately
Inherently
My drenched gray feathers were sprayed speckles of sunlit
Orchestrated by your Poetic heart. You
You use your ink in Golding drops,
Wrote on my mind's
wall and it
forever
flowing all over me entireties, now am a fountain of poetic springs Drawn from Your streams
of Love and Hope
And so I say
Merci!

“Whatsoever that be within us that feels, thinks, desires, and animates, is something celestial, divine, and, consequently, imperishable.” Quote by Aristotle
The aurora borealis glowed above us,
Beckoning us to the stars,
where meteoroids and asteroids challenge,
microgravity becomes our new reality.
stardust speckles our skin,
creating an ethereal glow.
I’m lost in your soul's windows,
diving into your solar plexus,
drowning in the Milky Way's whirlpool.
Our bodies sweat, cosmic confetti bursts,
celestial hallucinations haunt my mind,
my engine is ready to combust,
asteroid ashes and space dust swirl.
As our lifetime dissipates,
I stitch my lifelines to your skin,
in shimmering ink,
we await the encore of rebirth,
new bodies formed from cracked constellations,
descending from heaven's opalescent gate.
A three year old dreamy child
lying down beside his dad
at night on the open terrace
eyes wide open gazing at the sky
asked him the following question:
"Dad what are those bright white speckles above?"
"They are stars", dad replied.
"Will they fall down on me?"
"No. They will not".
"They are so bright and shiny. I wish to go up there and play with them".
Dad laughed at his little one's innocence and said:
"My dear, they are huge glowing balls of gases in the universe. Our sun is also a star. There are trillions of stars in the universe".
The child was silent for some time.
He stared gape-mouthed at the
black canvas of the night sky
sprinkled with silvery dots
guided by the glorious full moon
for some time and asked his dad:
"Do they have names?"
"Yes. Some have names we give to them but most of them do not"
"Is there a star in my name?", the child asked with sparkling eyes.
His dad replied:
"If you grow up to shine bright to eliminate the darkness of ignorance..."
"If you share your love impartial to all, just like the stars sharing their energy..."
"If you are steadfast in carrying out your responsibilities to make the world a better place..."
"Then there sure will be a Star in your Name!"
The child gave a bright smile as if
satisfied with his dad's answer.

Second Place
Leaf filtered sunlight
Speckles the water,
Tunnels of branches
Shading the stream
Little waves, lapping,
Knock on the kayak,
Paddle stroke rhythms
Rocking the boat.
Heron is gliding
Serenely greenwards,
Peace of the river
Filling my soul.
As the temperature starts to rise
A surprise I see before my eyes
Lots more tiny golden speckles
the mystery and beauty of freckles.
once at school my friend said I look like
I had been sun bathing under a tea strainer
now I see what she meant, hundreds of them on my arms
the hotter it's getting more are appearing LOL but it's just another blessing from God
Bright speckles of light,
Embellish the night canvas:
Myriad of stars.
Be you, the full moon that lights soul
My state of the mind is hers to flow
Roll in then away she turns dark
Leaving speckles of sparks in light
That ignite the mind to seek her
Cause, she knows she is my body
Cause, she knows that she is my mind
Cause, she knows she in part my soul
Wishful thinking
rests upon soft summer
butterfly wings
warm breeze
swims across my body
taking with it
my
thoughts, dreams,wishes
now they float, high
above the endless
clouds, like seeds
from an empty
dandelion stem
suns rays
wrap me in an invisible
blanket of comfort
tiny, speckles of wet
dew drops from morning
when God kissed the ground
As I lay, feeling
the touch of mother earth
I drift to dream freely
my Native ancestors
dancing and chanting
the songs of my people
the Chickasaw
A sudden itch on my nose
brings me back to the present
and as my sleepy eyes lift
from crescent slivers
to full dark chocolate moons
I watch as a monarch
dance across my face
and kisses my cheek with
its powdery wing
as it travels
above the endless clouds
like the dandelion seeds
