There you were - dancing,
unaware of the intense rain.
Despite grey clouds grimacing,
your radiant glamour enticed emotions.

Emeralds and sapphires shimmered
through those luminous eyes.
First glimpse of your warm smile,
saw suppressed symphonies resonate
with each beat of my heart.

Not all poetry is for everyone's eyes,
so we read each other in silence.
Unwritten ink dyed our skin,
as the pen lost control,
carving our names within
timeless beloved ballads.
Two souls scribbling secret sonnets,
easing restless chambers of our minds.

Naturally beautiful like nature,
our evergreen love blossomed.
As we wandered within utopia's oasis,
our feet kissed sun blessed paths,
leading to passionate pastures.

There is no transcript,
to our epic love story,
it will forever remain an
unpublished manuscript.

Opal Stars, Velvet Dreams

~
My thirst now deep ~ I long to quench
to sip this periwinkle wine
In goblets cut of harvest moons
impassioned pleas now cast of time

Tender kisses ~ sonnets placed
on fevered lips near rainbow streams
In golden castles made of sand
I've knelt beside you in my dreams

As whispered winds ~ I've called to you
before the dew of morning beads
and sunlight forms the northern star,
in measured breaths of tempted needs

In rustled leaves ~ I've heard your voice
beneath the dark where crickets play
That echoed through my aching heart
harmonic to the light of day

From mountain top ~ my vision soars
‘cross fertile valleys emerald green
In search of perfect precious love
amidst this beauty I have seen

Beyond the shades ~ of here and now
I've felt your breath beneath my skin
I've tasted sweet your tender smile
and felt the longing deep within

For in this mist ~ of moistened glow
the heart reflects on distant wing
In melodies of long ago,
desires silent evenings bring

With opal stars ~ I write your name
in shimmered streaks across the night
Where darkened velvet curtains fall
on windswept dreams of sweet delight

And now we stand ~ together pure
a' glow this jasmine moon above
Two fires of a single flame
among the rhyme of written love

Wishes fly ~ on silver whims
far beyond each silent cloud
As evening finds us lost again
in precious love forever vowed
~

Premium Member Along Dawn's Amber Shores

Dawn slowly awakened to supplant the moon
Empty, the canopy where stars had been strewn
In repose, Luna slept after wandering velvet skies
and spider webs shimmered in the flight of sunrise
Dew drops evaporated upon the fragrant tuberose
as a playful breeze billowed my sheer nightclothes

Seagulls swooped and scurried along amber shores
A salty crew grappled with the sea on labored oars
Muscles pulled in rhythmic chorus, as if in lyrical rote
as surging waves rocked the hull of their fishing boat
They surpassed each crest and triumphed over swells
The sun's prisms painted the horizon in muted pastels

Inspired by the milieu of ruffled swirls across the sea
sunlight dappled over its surface in sequenced litany
I sipped a second cup as thoughts were being seeded
Poetry spawned inside of me; a birthing to be heeded
For as driftwood hastens down rapids to a new frontier
I needed to ledger my verses, ere they hie to disappear

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

In Endless Moments Waking

In endless moments waking

Alone she sits at twilight
to dream of shimmered lace
While staring at the moonlight
reflecting on her face

The winds of change are brewing
through evergreens they call
To question what she’s doing
believing in it all

Her heart begins to travel
with wishes sent a far
As boundaries unravel
to touch the farthest star

She floats on wishes sharing
so soft upon a wing
While in the dark she’s staring
to futures it may bring

She knows it’s disappearing
for night is soon to end
The daylight she is fearing
a morning comes to send

Until the dawn is breaking
her eyes they cast a glow
In endless moments waking
that only she can know

The Girl With Blue Aruba Eyes

~

She stood amidst the tropic breeze
the girl with blue Aruba eyes
Between the fruiting mango trees
neath pastel sunset shimmered skies

Meandering this summer’s eve
we stroll the shoreline hand in hand
Where lemongrass and grottos weave
and footprints wander in the sand

Alone this twilight paradise
as moonbeams glow on suntanned skin
Melodic turquoise waves entice
a seaside romance to begin

When here on dampened shore we kiss
my heart it beats in whispered sighs
Her beauty is my island bliss
the girl with blue Aruba eyes

~

Since it is winter, I thought I’d take a poetic trip to the tropics
Care to join me

The Edge of Romance

~
Dressed in a shade that the sun couldn’t find,
all on a cool summer’s eve
Seeking a scarf only meant to unwind,
wrapped in an untangled weave
Picking a fabric, the color of love,
stitched with a thread of desire
Taking your hand neath the heavens above,
warm in our flannel attire,
more than enough to inspire
~
Following pathways, the shape of your smile,
skipping like stones on a lake
Counting the ripples in circular style,
drenching the shore in their wake
Picking up pinecones now scattered the floor,
left of an overgrown scene
Acorns and clover and toadstools galore,
woven in soft evergreen,
what could this possibly mean
~
Heartbeat directions now lost to the breeze,
footsteps will know what we planned
Calming, the moments we talk to the trees,
sycamores do understand
Midnight adventures by firefly light,
glistening, leading the way
Wee hour wandering as they take flight,
below a lanterned array,
stars in a shimmered display
~
Find what you will in these words that I share,
tuck them away safe and sound
Breathe in the thoughts as you exhale the air,
now that there’s no one around
Kiss me tonight where the moon shadows dance,
soft on the eve of the morn
Holding me close at the edge of romance,
watching the sunrise adorn,
happy this new day is born
~

The Summer sun shimmered upon the lake.
Sunny-side up, the sky, the brightest soak.
Its reflection - a breathing space intake.
Stay on the path for its easy, light yolk.

The darker side, with two-sail boat, deep sighs.
In awe of ebb and flow, in Spirit’s glide.
In the shadow of God, in morning rise,
before your chores call you - a soothing ride.

Serenity is deep and wide. A smile
of warmth before the Fall. Glass eyes glisten.
Your heart, is calm, in solitude. Do wile
away the day, to soothing splash. Listen…

Lax days, upon the sea and sky, compose.
You hide in God’s glory - swaddled shadows.

Premium Member In the Reflection of the Shadows

One brilliant tranquil day, around a turquoise lake,
Autumn had come in and brightly painted
so prettily the branches of the trees.
Overhead the gulls serenely soared.
Below them, water shimmered -softly rippled. . .
I thought how this was how the world should ever be -
beautiful and radiant, sorrow-free.

All of a sudden came a shift.
A strong wind swept the scene; all was transformed.
Fall’s vibrant colors shimmied,
till released, they spread asunder.
Small ripples changed to waves,
which angrily were lashing at the shore.
The seagull’s laughing cries had disappeared.
And streaming rays of sunlight had
become absorbed by darkness . . .
a dreariness and dreadfulness and cold.

In the reflection of the shadows,
I found my flimsy jacket, flung it on,
and clasped it close to me - then even closer.
Wishing that all mankind could find illumination,
I forlornly contemplated that this
was how the whole world would come to be,
and sooner than we know. . .would so remain.

On the shadowed banks of river they sat together
Adulating setting sun quivering in rippling currents
Where golden filaments shimmered on blue water
Forming and breaking ephemeral circular motions
Undulating amber rays on eve’s buoyant emotions.

Her dimples smiled upon her visage of royal poise
Enticing him to probe her cheerful, enamored eyes
Mesmerizing as yet un-blossomed amatory dreams
As they raved of college, friends, late nights carefree
Exploring coyly maiden impulses of mature themes
Inflaming seductively, untrodden clues of fantasies.

Alas! those memories now~ dulcet still, but empty.

Never he saw her again on her side of the prairies
Strolling nonchalantly, engrossed in birds chirping,
No one standing there now to steal his glances slyly
Hiding behind notions of secrecy, at first meekly,
Though later, quite daringly, wantonly, frequently;
Elevating him unlike anyone else, before, or since.

Her last letter to him was cryptic, yet informative:
A rustic farm house, cow moos amid clucking sounds,
Boy and a girl, flower beds, and a dog named Duffy~
A simple life on landscapes lauding ancestral heritage.

He remembers well~ saying it, genuinely meaning it,
As movingly she indulged in life that could have been,
Awkwardly dropping hints, soon she’ll be married.

Yet, here she is now intimating, she too so loved him~
Validating his belief—though offering a mere fig leaf--
A vain gesture to convince him she honored his dream
Memorializing secret pact, living life in his blueprint:
Boy and a girl, rustic farm house, a dog named Duffy.

A week passed, yet no words drifted in my mind
I feared I'd become numb and poetically blind
so, I gave up, went to bed and turned off the light
but in the very next moment I screamed in fright!

"Procrastinator!" My Muse yelled, in a huff.
"You are made of much stronger stuff!"

I slid beneath the covers; she threw back the quilt.
"Oh no," she fumed, "you'll not fill me with guilt!"
I pleaded and cajoled, but she bought none of it.
She pulled out my desk chair and said, "NOW SIT!"

I obeyed and sat but nothing worthy came to mind.
I felt her staring at my back, 'twas of the evil kind.'
Desperately, I tried to conjure rhymes that would do.
She sighed then she asked, "What's wrong with you?"

I turned my head to look at her so we could confer,
but she shimmered away in a wavy transparent blur.
I called to her, and reached out trying to pull her near
My arms grasped only air, for she had disappeared.

"Come back, please. I'm sorry I've not been writing,
but thoughts you've offered lately are all about fighting."
She reappeared smiling, and before she took flight,
whispered in my ear, "Just pick up your pen and write."

Whisper Hello To the Evening

Whisper hello to the evening

~

Autumn echoes call your name
through valleys painted tangerine
Beneath a slowly setting sun
of twilight promises serene

Feel these winds of deep affection
quivering upon your heart
Whisper hello to the evening
as the daylight does depart

Chasing dreams in silent shadows
neath a moonbeam’s shimmered dance
Soft reflections so alluring
silhouettes in true romance

Sit with me this velvet meadow
while the stars enchant the view
Kiss me soft of endless wonder
know this love I have for you

Composed By Our Love

.

Softly the keys find a resonance pure, softly
adrift o’er a metronome stream, adrift
past the harmonies, three quarter time, past
dreamers and slumbering chords shimmered gleam, where dreamers
all long to caress what is heard, all
feeling vibrato on breezes a’ mist, feeling
the music ‘pon moonbeams of time to capture the
tune a pianist hath kissed, a tune
from the heart beating tempos of joy, from
deep down inside to the edge of the scale, deep
in a place that shall find no return, lost in
a breath of crescendo’s exhale, a
beautiful euphony born of desire, a beautiful
opus descends from above, an opus
of sensual echoes to feast, of
love songs, melodic, composed by our love

I was challenged to write a poem about a piano player using the poetic form Serpentine. It is where each line begins and ends with the same word but each line feeds into the next in order to keep the serpent like movement going. I thought I would pop in and share this with you.

Oh...Hi, it has been a while. : )

Harmony

~

Soft melodies of misted spray
adrift ‘pon glistened air
Cascading waters on display
their touch of moisture’d share

As fern leaf sonnets fill the trees
illumined emerald green
Symphonic spun tranquilities
embrace this peaceful scene

Sweet solitude in whispered song
on crystal stream it flows
O’er polished stone it rolls along
as time so gently slows

This moment, pure serenity
of shimmered heaven’s grace
A world of nature’s harmony
is felt this wondrous place

In Quiet Breaths He Sings Your Name

~

If on this eve of glistened skies
when crystal snowflakes fall
Amidst the hush of tempered sighs
where heartbeat whispers call

Your mind is lost another place
as moonbeams dance above
In wishes that you long to trace
of visions filled with love

Remember as the evening nears
and stars reflect your smile
Within the shimmered light appears
in winter’s mystic style

Another who does feel the same
beyond horizons clear
In quiet breaths he sings your name
in hopes that you will hear

One who longs you by his side
as nighttime breezes sift
In harmonies sent to confide,
melodic thoughts adrift

So listen as these flurries flow
and in your heart believe
There is a man who sings of you
this snowflake glistened eve

Believing

~

Come with me a’ walking
this chilly autumn eve
Along the vast horizon
where two hearts can believe

Following the sunset
winding down the way
Leading to our paradise
in nature’s found display

Shaded by an oak tree
you and I we lie
Contemplating every dream
under an amber sky

Counting constellations,
heavenly the bliss
Sharing in the solitude
a stardust shimmered kiss

Mesmerizing beauty,
enchanted by the sight
Holding you within my arms
this cool November night

Waiting for a twilight song
to flow in from above
As we linger for a while
believing in our love
