7 Deadly Sins

7 Deadly Sins

When God showed me a vision,
I was wondering if what it is all about,
He was showing me the greatness, and fullness of life,
Where I neglected it and did not shew some delight,

He showed me fruits of a different kind,
Where I can pick, and have the best one I like
But, I kept on ignoring it one by one.
And I never appreciated the good kind he placed in line.

He showed me then, how my hands work in many ways,
He taught me how to touch others and give a helping hand
He tied a rope for me to pull when they are out of strings to hold
But, I was too busy to hold mine and so selfish to hold one.

He gave me the heart to love others,
He made it pure and with kindness
But, I used it to hatred, unforgiving heart I laid
and I end up loving myself more than anyone else

"One night, I dreamt of heaven and hell
I saw Jesus seating on a big bronze chair
The place was too dark, dull and sad.
As I gazed my eyes, I saw my families and other people around.
I was surprised why I was not with them
and why I was standing next to Him."

"In a blink of an eye, the ground started to break,
And the fire came out like a river and lake.
The place was drowning in sorrow, as I heard the crying of each soul.
I was terrified, and I can not move
Watching them screaming and falling, it's tearing my heart. I can not hold."

"Then, all of a sudden I felt sadness and my tears began to fall.
I saw my mother, and she is about to fall.
I asked Jesus to help and pull her up.
But He just looked at me, and my heart was bleeding so bad.
Then, I jumped to where my mother was.
I grabbed her hands and hold her tight
Then there's a big voice I heard at the back.
"They are the one who can save their soul"

I was crying that very moment I woke up,
The message was striking me with fear, I'm terrified.
It was not only for them to take, but also for me to wake.

That night I began to pray
I asked God for His forgiveness and mercy on bended knee
To forgive me for my arrogance and selfishness
To forgive me for my enviousness and greediness
To Forgive me for being Gluttonous, lustful, sloth and wrath
I asked him to take away my pride and give me back my pure heart

That dream is a wake up call "No one can save anyone other than their soul..."

"Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
                                            ~ Psalm 16:11 (The Holy Bible)

In Your presence, there is fullness of joy
A joy that no one can ever destroy
You cheer my soul and clothe me with gladness
Your joy is my strength, no place for sadness

My soul bursts out with joyful songs of praise
In adoration, my spirit, I raise
Rejoicing with joy inexpressible
For You have made Yourself accessible

Your words, my delight, the joy of my heart
Keeping Your commandments, full joy impart
My lips shout for joy, soul exults in You
For You have clothed me with salvation true

Rejoicing in hope, joy everlasting
Night weeping will end, dawn joy contrasting
In all affliction, joy overflowing
Reap with shouts of joy, though in tears sowing

I have set the Lord always before me
You're at my right hand, shaken I'll not be
I am glad, my whole being rejoices
My heart, mind and soul, all lift their voices

Premium Member A Birdhouse Renovated

Many birdhouses seen
In the different shape
On a backyard fence
In different colors

The squirrel is searching
For a place to nest
One squirrel chased a bird
From the fenced birdhouse

The squirrel ate the eggs
A mother bird laid
Then when shew was done
The squirr4el got busy

She enlarged the hole
She made it bigger
Then the squirrel decided
To make another

Entrance to the house
She chewed a hole
Now for the side door
Making it larger

Amidst the Stress and Strains of Life

Amidst the stress and strains of life rejoice
Don't fold now, you still can play the hand
Forget old rules, make a new paradigm for choice
The brail and vang is in your will's command

In your heart, just know your cause with God is right
The stakes for all is everything you are
Where your hands toil, work with all your might
And point the stern towards your homing star

Do not quit your dreams now, do not complain or cry
Stand boldly at the bow and keel against the wind
What matters if in the great struggle we die
We could not live forever anyhow, and still we win

For we have opened a path unopened before, and shew
Men how, for the world will after us in glory
But not behind the whimpering soul will any pursue
The grimacing shame of a coward's history.

Know whose you are, and who you are reclaim
For God made you in his image, and set your heart
To have dominion here, to replenish in the flame
Subdue the earth, now with honor do your part!

Tell winds and waves be still, tell the fire break
You have God's glory to your name, stand and fight
Do not quiver, let not the sun-centered rod shake
Day comes the morning after the darkest night.

A vanilla candlelit dream
floats down a clear blue stream

The earthy sun does shine on
red hot flame lit til dawn

Floating down the river so sweetly
As you come over with daisies to greet me

Smells of dew and music of doves
movements of shew shew and voices of love

A spirit filled soul inside the river blew
the flame only grew and the I knew

Premium Member Show Thy Marvellous Loving Kindness -Psalm 17: 7

let us pray unto our loving Lord
this one who's so full of kindness
such a marvelous thing to know
for we're darkened in our blindness

My gracious God father in heaven
penetrate into my intellect so light
take away all that's just ignorance
put there righteous knowledge so bright

Delicately cut open all my emotions
show your loving kindness into my heart
fill it full of my immense gratitude
may it honour you in no small part

Make my faith even as mustard seed
to grow up into a large oak tree
renew me with your full confidence
so my testimony's real for all to see

In my experience make it all so real
have thy loving kindness so dear
so I be delivered completely from all
that would bring upon me any fear

Thank you O my Lord and king
answer this prayer I do humbly bring
for you have shown such love again
to me a sinner redeemed! Glory amen!

(Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.' Psalm 17: 7(KJV)

'Show it to my intellect and remove my ignorance,
show it to my heart and receive my gratitude,
show it to my faith and renew my confidence,
show it to my experience and deliver me from all my fears'

Premium Member Respect My Integrity

Bare me out
Why all these doubt
I dare you to
Respect my integrity
For they say i am mad
Because of poverty
But whither rich or poor
All is vanity
I will shew my self wise
Or else fools be my adversary
I will  seek eternity
I will always fight
For my dignity
Why all these doubt
Bare me out
Humans bare me out

Premium Member In Defense of Homeless Pets

People turn their nose up...
and shew them away...
they think they are pests...
and have them taken away.

But how did this happen?...
now labeled as strays...
you may not like what I'm next gonna say.

The story began with a human of course.
They couldn't decide between a cat or a horse.
So they first tried a cat...
but it caused too much distraction...
so it got thrown out with no hint of attachment.

They next thought of trying a big spotted horse...
they tried for a week...then with no remorse... they gave this old horse
to a cold...scary place...
that's all that I'm really willing to say.

They next tried the dog...
which they chained to a fence...
yet nobody came to this poor dogs defense.

He had gotten so thin...
he slipped out of his chain...
running away in the dark and the rain.
He was so hungry...he dug in the trash...
where he found a cat...
who just had her babies in a pile of that same trash.

So you see these strays started out as some humans pet...
then for what ever reason...they were tossed out.
Would they have done this to us?...
I highly doubt.

So show some compassion...they've been through enough...
It wasn't their choice....so please hear their voice.

On My Shrew's Death

My shew is no longer breathing
This I really do lament
My shrew is no longer kicking
I find myself in torment;
I wonder where its soul went;
Could it be Alaska or Benelux?
This death definitely sucks
For it was a creature, a tender creature
Whose system ceased functioning altogether;
Today, I can only see a bleak future;
For it no longer moves
For it no longer laugs
Such lack of noise and motion means
Tears in my eyes and apathy;
Life without you is colourless;
Such a tiny peaceful mammal
Who has never pestered anyone
I will really miss this animal
Since now I am truly alone
For my best friend is gone;
Its little heart stopped working
And mine since then is aching;
I could hold you in my hand
So much fun remains in my mind;
If only time we could rewind!
There's no therapy to get over this
No alcohol since I'm a teetotaler
No video games. I loathe them
I can't focus on chess now
I can't read poetry like this
My shrew is always in my mind
But nowhere in my life
Just a cold still body
It's dead. Dead.
Like my joy.
Gone.
But worry not, my little mammal
This won't last long...
I will see you soon, my lovely friend

Miss Lou

You talk about a woman great, I talk a legend
A man carry in his heart from childhood to years
Not come as yet. Our culture by captivity rend
Without liberty, and unpreserved in scars of tears
We gathered apart from village smoke and dust
To mend and make in new language that healed
Us to laugh again. The nights had God to trust
Alone, and the radio around which we squealed
Our belief in what she taught us. For I find there
That I can love this self after holocaust and whip,
Use the new tongue to balm me where I am bare,
While she doctored us with potions of vision. Rip
Not the past yet, it was tool stitching us together.

And all our present we can use like she shew us
A rich heritage of materials from us drawn together
To hear it, again Liza singing the people's chorus
Making Boysie run from flatboard liberating joy
As the colonial idiom doomed, chafed in the alloy
Of memory. We blend to make Africa, and preserve
Miss Lou's legacy from which self to us was served.

O Depression

O depression

In despair ,thou art give me refuge ,
To whom ,the world only rebukes ,
I have race of thoughts ,
Which the atmosphere has bought ,
In insecurity my feelings run,
In consolidation ,emotions shun,
Mind goes Helter skelter,
In search of peaceful shelter .
Mind gets full of pollution
Thoughts positive and negative in motion
Mind sets into traffic rush rush
With body responding to this Hush hush
Anxiety forcibly pops in
Depression says,"why did you drop in ?",
Handling all of you drains me
Sleepless nights in bed frame me
Restlessness accompanies me in bed
Weakness in all I have bred
Unexpectedly hope enters with love
Depression sighs ,"why thou art enter in this hullabaloo, .
Hope replies,"hey I'll recite a limerick from honolulu
In this atmosphere of anarchy
Let me exercise my monarchy
Thou art will be gifted
With a morale highly elevated
Shew away these fiery personalities ,
And thou will achieve all royalties
Of happiness ,peace and freedom ,
In my holy spirited Kingdom "

Princess Sara

PRINCESS SARA

Happiness reached at its height,
When i held her in my arms tight.

Never seen or felt this beautiful sight,
Life for me was full of light.

Every moment spent with my angel,
Shew away my worries that bundle.

Her smile and instant expressions,
Beat even the computer's suggestion.

The baby talk, story time,
The toddler walk, nursery rhyme,

Little princess then went to study,
Heavy bags on shoulders tiny,

Challenges she faced in my shadow,
Got rough tough to face the tornado.

Graceful, mature, a teenager she is,
My treasure, the reason of my bliss.

Upcoming DENTIST, fond of flora,
Loves to wear a pink tiara.

May God bless her with a happy life,
for she lightens my hardships in which i strive.

May God protect her from evil,
Grant her a journey wishful.

Beloved Physician

The majority of the following poem was
lost forever, except for a portion recalled
by the author's lady friend, many years after
his untimely death. I will post the recollections
of Mrs. Shew-Houghton first, followed by my own
additions (appearing in ALL CAPS).

The Beautiful Physician (Poe's last poem)

The pulse beats ten and intermits;
God nerve the soul that ne’er forgets
In calm or storm, by night or day,
Its steady toil, its loyalty.

[. . .]

[. . .]

The pulse beats ten and intermits;
God shield the soul that ne’er forgets.

[. . .]

[. . .]

The pulse beats ten and intermits;
God guide the soul that ne’er forgets.

[. . .]

[. . .] so tired, so weary,
The soft head bows, the sweet eyes close,
The faithful heart yields to repose.

Beloved Physician
© EA Poe & Ben Burton (1849 & 2015)

The pulse beats ten and intermits;
God nerve the soul that ne’er forgets
In calm or storm, by night or day,
Its steady toil, its loyalty.

The pulse beats ten and intermits;
God BLESS the soul that ne’er forgets
THE PAPERS EARNED THROUGH STEADY TOIL
GREAT PASSION BURNING MIDNIGHT OIL

The pulse beats ten and intermits;
God SAVE the soul that ne’er forgets.
AND LOITERS NOT FOR RECOMPENSE
BUT HEEDS THE FIRST CALL TO ATTEND

The pulse beats ten and intermits;
God LIGHT the soul that ne’er forgets.
THE GENTLE SMILE BEFORE THE CUT
WITH CONFIDENCE, THE CALMING HUSH

The pulse beats ten and intermits;
God LEAD the soul that ne’er forgets
WITH KNOWLEDGE EARNED, AND SKILLS APPLIED
BY NIMBLE HAND, INCISIVE EYE

The pulse beats ten and intermits;
God shield the soul that ne’er forgets.
FIRST DO NO HARM, THEN DO WHAT'S BEST
WHEN ALL ROADS FAIL, THE INFORMED GUESS

The pulse beats ten and intermits;
God guide the soul that ne’er forgets.
IN PLAGUE AND WAR, THE NUMBERS MASS
IN DOUBLE TIME, REVEAL THE PATH

The pulse beats ten and intermits;
God SHOW the soul that ne’er forgets.
WITH HEART RATE DROPPING STEADILY
LAST RITES INSPIRE ETERNITY

The pulse beats ten and intermits;
ALAS, BESET WITH WEARINESS
The soft head bows, the sweet eyes close,
The faithful heart yields to repose.

Hark, brazen tis starry-eyed moon hath visit yon October night,
Dwelt autumn leaves hath slumbereth, for hazel eyes favor,
Pivotal moments adrift blesseth assured aims to thine wares,
Be humbled forthwith, and shew thy cares, be they knowest,

Dwelt autumn leaves hath slumbereth, for hazel eyes favor,
Whimsical path brews of small chatter of sought souvenir,
Be humbled forthwith, and shew thy cares, be they knowest,
Tap at the door, squeaks then echoes, unladen treats for sweets,

Whimsical path brews of small chatter of sought souvenir,
Pivotal moments adrift blesseth assured aims to thine wares,
Tap at the door, squeaks then echoes, unladen treats for sweets,
Hark, brazen tis starry-eyed moon hath visit yon October night.
