Best Set In Poems
If theres one thing i know
That's set in stone
Is that you can't be
Everything
To everyone you know
So just be you
If their expectin more
It's time to let them go
How firmly they stand,
the spires of history
that no one can destroy.
What a curious melange
of hate and love
and yesterday's antipathy.
Indifferent they are,
leaving us their basic legacy--
shining, mocking; it is their heritage,
and the winds of change have no effect
upon a single word.
Within their shadow is enshrined,
the totality of every lie
and every truth we ever knew.
Tread softly in their midst--
It is rarified companionship they offer.
Dare we even to essay to smooth the path
historic footsteps made,
or cleared the way for ours?
There is no answer from the silent skies.
It is the empty flagon of serenity,
the hopeless void that stretches out forever,
calling forth the meditator to his bench,
and time to its eternal rest.

beyond the summer sunrise,
the tender touch of blue reflecting in your eyes
- from heavenly skies
the wind- whispering again, through my hair-
along clouds of marshmallow cream,
it’s like a dream
love being an echo,
around every moment and sensation i know,
calling and falling everywhere
emotions are set in motion,
with depth and devotion
~ tender moments ~
Petrology, geology, call it what you may
Minerals of many are around us every day
Igneous, sedimentary, metamorphic are the main
Their seams grace our planet, they are her veins
The next time you walk your streets, take a look around
For many rocks and stones, are everywhere to be found
Where would we be without them, many structures would never be here
If it wasn't for many millions of years, and this beautiful earthly sphere
Limestone is a funny rock
it’s hard, and rough, and green,
but years of pressure on this stone
make changes most supreme.
Marble appears, quite rough to touch,
but cut and polished bare,
it then becomes most beautiful
of all the rocks we share.
Engravers, then they set to work,
most skilful at their art
and make this stone a record
of the best we hold to heart.
On plaques and gravestones, memories kept,
for all who come to see,
this noble stone will carry forth
mankinds’ long family tree.

Even the great are cheated on
what makes me an exception?
call me sweety, yet a pity
when I get a clue
That I am in a long queue.
Tell me you love me
when I am blind to see
The messages in your phone
That make my heart torn
Or when I am deaf to hear
A late night call from your other dear.
I got into this for love
I starve
Feeling ignored
Getting so bored
All attention diverted
My presence neglected.
Gone good days
when our love was all rays
A shadow has set in
So cold and bold
A sight not to behold
Remains a story untold.
He said their love was set in stone
For nothing could keep them apart
A love like he had never known
Had been written inside his heart
She said their love was set in stone
And nothing could keep her away
A love like she had never known
Was in her heart to stay
The love they had only seemed to grow
Now that their kids were grown
They knew one day the world would know
Their love was set in stone
Now married for almost sixty years
And not one day was spent alone
A lot of laughter and very few tears
For their love was set in stone
They buried the couple the other day
On their marker these words were shown
A Love like this rarely comes this way
For their love were set in stone
When you set a clock time doesn't stop. The minutes are constantly passing, life steadily evolving, but I am set in my ways!
Counting down the days, growing old and gray, wondering who shall take our place someday, but I am set in my ways.
Spring ahead, fall back, sunny skies, molten rocks, winter and summer come and go just the same as rain and snow, but I am set in my ways!
I often wonder why some people are caught in a tunnel, not living life, or feeling alive, but whose life is very hollow, but I am set in my ways.
If you set a clock, time will keep moving. You can sit down your whole life, while your body is growing. You can set your mind to something and the world is constantly changing, but I am set in my ways!
Mirror, mirror on my wall, I'm set this way, please do not fall
For I am set in my ways.
he keeps saying it's
gonna
be a bumpy ride
but that's life
and all these spin-offs
about juggernauts
space fairies
and
helmets with no chin straps
riding in his
space cow
across the galaxy
i'm considering a chin-strap-beard
we are
one tonight
i explain to the human geography teacher
in the lounge
that i am a completionist
i don't just
watch some episodes, but finish the lot
he counters, "did you see every episode
of duck tales?"
the man is mad
Frivolous action,
begets random outcomes.
Heartache and despair ensue.
Reasoned action,
entails planned results.
Success ensues.
Heed your actions.
He is a mystery,
he’s not what he wants to be.
He comes on, with his charm,
just in case.
She tries to slow him down,
to show him some solid ground.
Takes his hand, as he talks
she listens.
Set in stone,
is the ending
set in stone?
He is preoccupied,
divided and taking sides.
Insecure, and unsure,
laying the blame.
She’s seen his kind before,
they’ve shaken her to the core.
It is done, as she runs
over the edge.
Set in stone,
Is the ending
Set in stone?
He writes his poetry,
escaping reality,
As she heals, he feels
they are broken.
All alone,
she left him
all alone.
Set in stone,
she left him
set in stone.
All alone,
is the ending
set in stone?
And so, a chapter ends…
The story’s been told
Latent messages are sent
Nothing left to unfold
There is no need for second glances
The pages set in stone
Never mind circumstances
It’s essence that sets the tone
So as one chapter ends
There’ll be a new one to script
Surprises waiting ‘round the bend
Bring new challenges to writ

Have hope...World without end...new beginings...life evolving...infinite
When I was a kid I learned to eat
By ending a meal with something sweet;
Pudding, ice cream, sweet canned fruit –
The need for sweet was absolute.
That craving had been set in stone
When I’m with others, or alone.
My dinner will not feel complete
Unless it’s finished with a treat:
Cake or fruit pie, a la mode;
Worth the sugar overload.
Licorice or Hershey’s kisses
Join the list of never-misses.
Halvah, gummies, chocolate raisins,
Toasted nuts with honey glazin’s;
Cobblers, cookies, lemon tarts,
Any sweet that’s off the charts.
All I need’s a bite or two
To let me know my meal is through.
Dessert is a necessity
And always will be so to me.
Ten things set in stone, ten gifts of love from a father to his own,ten guidposts along life's road, ten points of light in the night, ten ways to know wrong from right, ten principles to follow, ten to share, ten things to bring you closer to he whom is always their, ten ways to go wrong, ten ways to go right, ten ways to know ones only chance at life is with the holy son,he who has come to fulfill not destroy, for you to go to your knees in repentance a broken soul, then to rise up clean and knew filled with peace, love, and joy.Ten things setu in stone.
As I lay on my bed sobbing
Not to loud because otherwise I fear he will hear and come
I looked forward to no future
Beyond where he told me all that wasn't
I searched for cracks in what he told
For a second I dared to believe in something
Wished for a world where he was dead
And I was free to be more
As I woke and tentatively walked into another of his days
As I tried not to ignite the alcohol this morning he had drunk
Tried not to become entangled in another of his vindictive webs
I held the dream of what could possibly
As I lay trapped beneath his feet
As what he swore fueled my tears
As I tried to escape the hardest punches
With the very tip of my fingers I held on to hope
As he told me my future was set in stone
As expertly he picked away any sense of self belief
Through the shouts for all the reasons I didn't deserve to exists
A very different cast was being created
As everything he said and done
Rests now in all he touched
I can see the only thing that has been set
Is all he lost
All he failed.
