Set In Stone

He said their love was set in stone
For nothing could keep them apart
A love like he had never known
Had been written inside his heart

She said their love was set in stone
And nothing could keep her away
A love like she had never known
Was in her heart to stay

The love they had only seemed to grow
Now that their kids were grown
They knew one day the world would know
Their love was set in stone

Now married for almost sixty years
And not one day was spent alone
A lot of laughter and very few tears
For their love was set in stone

They buried the couple the other day
On their marker these words were shown
A Love like this rarely comes this way
For their love were set in stone

Oh - how lovely. There are not many people today who stay married for that long. I've been married 44 years. I wouldn't change my husband for anyone else I'm glad to say.
