HEADLESS CHICKEN SERVES TWO

My son and his wife wanted fresh eggs so built a chicken run,
Always into something different that proved productive and fun,
They bought 4 rescue chickens, that each laid an egg a day,
One got brave, stuck head out of fence in an awkward way,
Next day they saw a headless hapless chicken in the pen,
Psychologist's prognosis chicken suicidal, make soup of hen.

Spring Season Serves As Natural Antidote

Sunshine undulates across verdant plain
casting dark shadows ushering twilight zone
ringing athwart tree trunks
invigorating, joyously kickstarting,
and plenti revitalizing
bountiful nature buzzfeeding

vim, vinegar and *****
caressing, massaging, and palpating with
soundlessness inducing bub bully giddy,
and sudsy spongy schmaltzy
harmonic livingsocial kerplunk
also intoxicating this perk o' late

ting teetotaler, no longer ginger
who doth oft times ale
with melancholic funk,
whereat imbibing nectar
of the Gods with fulfillment
temporarily quicken ends euphoric,
albeit 'pon firm meant soberly drunk.

Ah...nothing more uplifting
than (Anita Bryant raisin eyebrows)
plugging sunkist orange treat,
this sensate being privy,
sans front row seat
agog at orchestral, festival, viz

choral paean courtesy sweet
flora and fauna feat
bequeathed to Mother Earth,
a requiem pulsating with heartbeat
pitch perfect exultation
glorifying spring days soon obsolete

ethereal, ideal, and
sensational tonic to gin
prestidigitation, qua
natural psychological helpmeet
pleasant distraction with intent to read
temporarily placating, needling craving

for Pete sakes daily
fix this news junkie,
trembling when complete
awareness he doth accrete,

where quite glum, how
civilization didst mistreat
planet, hence feeling downbeat,
especially haunting ghosts of
Native Americans drumbeat
signal harbinger debacle

i.e. environmental doomsday
soon fated extinction
sealed and complete
inexorably inching closer to reality

necessitating superman to defeat
global warming rendering vast swaths
uninhabitable as Gaia global
temperature packs tremendous heat!

Stoic Silence Serves

The silent stoic stands
mumbling ice crusted mantra
“my light must never fail”.

Riddled by the sting of stony hail
blanched white by salty spray
peering into the maelstrom’s eye

un-blinking in the excoriating gale
knowing its duty is to serve
those in need – at their worst.

A silent storm’s “eye” mocks
the stoics steadfast stance
unable to comprehend such light

retreats again to fleeting fury
howls at the penetrating beam
exposing the peace within its core.

Such A Dark, Tragic Act Serves No End

When did you stop, to pause, only to let go
Where was that fateful place you gave up
Was it a heart crushed and bleeding deeply so
Or lost and thirsty, finding only life's empty cup?

What darkness, crept up to enter your bright mind
How could you not seek out those you dearly love
You my friend, were never the weak, cowardly kind
Always ready to fight when push came to shove!

How could you, how dare you take your own life
Why not ask help from your best friend
Life gives us all miseries, worries and strife
Such a dark, tragic act serves to no end!

I remember the days of our youth, you carefree
Future shining so bright, treasure at every turn
Wild times, YOU living reckless and wild AS ME
We both thinking our red sun to forever burn!

When did you stop, to pause, only to let go
Where was that fateful place you gave up
Was it a heart crushed and bleeding deeply so
Or lost and thirsty, finding only life's empty cup?

Serves Him Right

triolet

The lighting, it was over-bright.
I threw the mirror at his chair
with his taunt, "You're out of sight."
The lighting, it was over-bright.
My eyes were shot; I was not tight;
I broke his jaw; I hit him square.
The lighting, it was over-bright.
I threw the mirror at his chair.

written June 25, 2016,

out of sight is a slang expression meaning
heavily intoxicated

It Serves You Right

I came home,
And you were gone.
You left a letter,
Said you were movin on.

Said you didn't,
Have time to explain.
You were headin to boston,
To catch the next train.

Now you'r back,
Knockin on my door.
Lookin for the love,
That don't love you anymore.

It serves you right,
To be as lonely as you are.
It serves you right,
You torn my world apart.
So go back to the one,
Who took you from me.
I dont need you no more,
Now that i can see.

Now I am sittin here,
Soakin up the sun.
Thinkin of you,
And what you have done.

Feelin no more pain,
And healin my heart,
It serves you right,
To be as lonely as you are.

It serves you right,
To be as lonely as you are.
It serves you right,
You torn my world apart.
So go back to the one,
who took you from me.
I don't need you no more,
Now that I can see.

I don't need you no more,
I'm soakin up the sun in miami.

Whom Serves...Whom Taketh Away

Imagination's ingenuity
ushered forth from minds acuity
creations utility which flows fluidly
unhampered by ungracious cruelty

A worm of earth produces role
lower organism such as mole
without the tree provideth air
do we as human dare to care

Nature provides for all on earth
our mutual response to each in worth
despondant are those whom dominate
believing nature to serve which they create

The highest organism we as human
of role and purpose mediate numen
natural cycles clear distinct....
.....must be mindful avoid extinct....

True Love Serves

The Man Who Serves Me Coffee

Monotonous repetition
“I want, I want”
The faces begin to blur
Features eventually disappear
Their voices, now a constant buzz
Outweighing his thoughts
The only other sound he hears is the ever slowing ticks of time,
Inescapable.
His life has become
A faded numbness,
A passionless spiral of motions
Tick, tick.

What lies beneath his sullen shell?
Tattered camo memories
or the loss of a love true?
She wonders, sitting in the corner booth.

Premium Member If Memory Serves me Well

Collated papers filed and the bills paid
as the kettle whistled invitingly.
My son’s laughter drifting in through the window—
I have forgotten to close the billowing drapes.
A sempiteral tableau.

An ephemeral scene crowds in:
The loud curtains tucking at my memory;
my son’s voice trapped in distress.
The kettle whimpered as it boiled dry—
old papers flutter in my periphery …

March 17 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Judges 1-2

Key Verse – Judges 1:2 And the LORD said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand.

PRAISE BE TO GOD WHO SERVES AS OUR DELIVERER

Praise be to God for delivering us against:
Purposelessness toward power of prayerfulness
Persecutions along prevailing problems
Perversions midst prejudicial protests
Pride while propelled by His peace
Poverty and pestilence

Judges 1:22 Praise be to the Lord Who
is with us, accompanying us along His:
Power as we triumph in His salvation
Provision as we trust His sufficiency
Protection as we testify of His sanctification
Providence as we toil by His standards
Promise as we thank His satisfaction

Judges 2:1 Praise be to the Saviour for assuring us that
He will never break His covenant with us; thus we must:
Love Him, believing His Word
Live for Him, blessed in His work
Learn from Him, built-up up by His wisdom
Lean on Him, braced upon His ways
Look unto Him, beseeching His will. Amen!

As Memory Serves

A mere bump in time...
as bottled cork pops,
engaged second hand...
conveyed decibels,
dons melting,
against that instant,
"It's a boy!", resonates.
Reflecting after those many years,
I smiled while he blows...
his 44th candled flame,
~~best is poured.

gifted memories
timelessly bottled uncorks
~~aged wine stirs in ice

(thank you dear poe for my childhood)

once upon a midnight dreary...
while i pondered weak and weary...
over many an ancient volume of forgotten lore...
suddenly there came a tapping...as of someone gently rapping...
someone gently laughing outside my chamber door...t's the wind i muttered...
laughing at my chamber door...only this and nothing more...scarey lordie lore

No longer Serves me

Dear Self am I resisting changes?
consistently exploring in this web
of deja vu of what no longer serves
me. Stages in my life have been
heartaches and heartbreaks similar to
a bow and arrow have more drawbacks
then ups now releasing and being carefree.

Hopes and wishful thinking seem like
cousins to disappointments broken
trust and disrespect that I will no longer
entertain no longer serves me, letting go
gibberish chatter, will I ever see changes?
hopeful thinking, will it cons to pass,
difficult to grasp am I avoiding the reality of
questions at hand usually cause of idle talk
bringing up one's past yet now I'm so
unbothered by things that no longer serves
or brings substance and growth I am
stronger than yesterday's things that no
longer serves me.
