Best Self Infliction Poems
Living life dangerously with my heart on my sleeve
So reckless, So careless. Others can't conceive
Have you no walls? Where is your protection?
You're bound to get hurt by self-infliction
They look upon me. Baffled and shocked
"You foolish girl" they shout. They've mocked
Pain is all you'll find taking a risk such as this
You'll be left heartbroken over short lived bliss
I've heard it all before. Been told a time or two
They've even been right. I'll admit that to you
Here's what I know. What I learned from it all
Love is a risk. Even guarded you can fall
Nothing last forever. Everything will change
Hearts come together, fall apart, rearrange
Rather by choice, by time, or by death
Even when it last to someone's final breath
But there's no growth without pain
As there's no flowers without rain
Say what you will, I told you from the start
On my sleeve it will stay, my foolish heart

To those of us that struggle with addiction,
It's a choice you could say a self-infliction.
You’re a slave to the substance and you’re not aware,
A heavy cross for one to bare.
All the wheeling and dealing you can muster,
your wife a Tweeker you can't trust her.
Shady characters come with a song and dance,
getting ahead in this game a slim chance.
Every night you pray for a tomorrow,
another day filled with betrayal and sorrow.
Everyone is a liar, a thief and cheaters,
junkies, pill poppers, coke heads and Tweekers.
A mirage of addicts come and go,
tomorrow someone here could be Jane Doe.
The same thing day in and day out,
sometimes there is enough others you go without.
Addiction is with you everywhere you go,
It outsmarts you, you have no control.
Addiction comes in all shapes and sizes,
hand in hand with denial, deceit and lies.
You can never really be at ease,
My name is Addiction and I'm your disease.

I am emotionally unstable,
From being wrapped in the clutching grips of this mental psychosis.
I am now vulnerable to the plague of self infliction,
driving me towards one of my many addictions.
Allow me to pick my own poisons and ravage my own mind to
Free me of those thoughts that begin with happiness
But unfortunately and all too frequently end in time.
These embarrassing and disgusting thoughts of my insecurity
Are only fueled by my minds certainty,
That the further I plummet into your egos vulnerability
I will be exhausted by your truth.
This is my reality.
My heart has been poisoned all while my mind has been victimized.
Taken for granted by your cold acknowledgments and yet still this insatiable need for you
In one word is Asinine.
My cancerous wounds being wrapped and saturated with your ointment,
Healed…By you simply calling my name.
I am fully aware of the consequences that will condemn me
By rekindling your flame.
The validity of my former understandings of right from wrong
Have taken a turn in a direction where the nights are long
And as the cold settles in my bones I pray for dawn,
where my hopes paint scenes of a past that’s not all gone.
See I know that with every ending starts with a new beginning
And I have sampled quite a portion of those fish in the sea
And believe me, I have no problem scooping up another fine dime piece
That would do almost anything to ride with me
But physical contact has its limitations
It’s was our mental aspect that inspired my aspirations
It was knowing that your rock was strong and
I could lean on you when I had been on my feet too long
But that is my issue…what I thought I knew was wrong.
So now I smash and shatter through this reality
Stuffy with head pressure like a bad case of seasonal allergies
A feeling of panic deep in the pit of my gut
My soul is being crippled from being a fool..
And not giving you up.
Obsessions jumped into his mind
The haunting unwanted kind
Unable to write off
He's a man of cloth.
Sexual images invade
No relief when he prayed
A parishioner's wife
Was dealing with strife
He could barely hear her pain
His compulsive impulses to restrain.
Jealous of what her husband had
His black thoughts evolved into bad
Suicide was unacceptable by conviction
He imposed emotional self-infliction
Lost in dark depression and anxiety
He left and could never return to piety.

Walkin around head down
Praying I'll soon be casket bed bound
Whether it's from a gun when it spreads rounds
Or catch a disease that causes me to shed
pounds
And I pass away alone no tear drop sounds
Come to my funeral if you knew me I predict I
vacant crowd
Satin welcomes me with open arms son your
finally found
Maybe my death comes from self infliction
Take the rope put it around my throat hang myself my
own lynchin
If I had 5 horses I'd use the rope and tie it my
body every segment
Have all run in different directions to separate
every ligament
The inhuman intense images
Is inconceivable to the human senses
The pain is relentless
Starts at the head makes it goes through your
legs then shoots back to shatter your appendix
It's the reason I invoke my final breath comes
soon
Especially if I'm forever foredoomed
Every where I go misfortune looms
Hope is striped
Compare my life to my penmanship
Sloppy hard to read and find it far-fetched
anyone would wanna claim ownership
So why would I subsist
Put in a sub I quit
So if I die at this moment remember this
I'm sorry to the ones I threw stones at and forgive
the ones who threw bricks
Mama I was suppose to be a success but destiny
didn't like the script
Grandpa sorry I'm not strong enough to fight
through the hardships
I started as a soldier and became a seasoned vet
And after all these battles all was left
Gruesome images I can't seem to forget
And a perpetuating battle with the devils green
beret
Brings depression and ignite rage
No assistance from god to have the demons
slayed
Till tick tick tick then explode like the pellet I pray
to catch that's stray
Unspoken obstacles
As I decide to self loathe
And let ill fortune rot in my soul
Make no sense to be a living being
I get discredited for carry boulders that makes
me Herculean
Eyes closed in a black hearse as I exit oblivion

How easy it is not to be sought or seen;
hiding from existence,
weakening confidence,
missing its eloquence...
when feelings resurge
to question the misery of what has been
with a pathetic urge.
Why does one choose
those moods of loneliness
and turn into a lurking shadow,
then rest under a solitary willow?
Why be the friend of gloomy solitude,
instead of the friend of cheery sunshine?
Nothing is to be gained if ingratitude
doesn't allow reality and truth to entwine.
Note on picture # 1: Being invisible or hiding from the world
is self-infliction, it effects teens and adults who are
misunderstood and unloved.
Doubled up,
Hunched and hollowed;
Concealed, sitting in this musty closet.
Clutching memories to my chest and
Spreading out the others across this
Dusty darkened floor.
So dim, like these remembrances...
Straining to see through tears and years.
Some deeper wounds don’t fade with time,
Like yours, sweet long gone child of mine.
Advised against this self infliction,
I cannot stay away from my secret addiction.
Infused with your smells and special things,
I force myself to keep you here with me.
Inside my heart and this compartment.
Watching you grow in my imagination: older, taller.
Exquisite bittersweet daydreams
Of you still here and needing me.
So, gently back into the box my treasure;
Rest for now…time is not measured.
Soon I’ll return and once again
Hold your glossy framed grin
Against my broken heart.

(a poetry collection)
for The Beloved and in honor of Mevlana Jallaladin Rumi
… the mind within mutely knows that much of love´s pain is not surrender, but self-infliction,
yet willingly surrenders to a blindfold worn above a knife thrust into the heart…
* * *
… in vain, we hope the wound will heal, though the wind will caress it during the magnificent
and cleansing terror of free-fall...

Loving you is my indulgence… please indulge yourself…

… intimacy flourishes at night because love walks the velvet-deep
of night-sky…… wrap it around you… intimately…
The jaws sing
As the drip, drip, drip,
Of the petroleum chorus
Dances across
The inverted aluminum
And the hissing starts
And the hissing stays
Its smell a warning
A final omen
Like the last rose
Of summer
Or the fragrance she wore
For that final goodbye
The teeth tear inward
Like the regret for today
And the regret for yesterday
And the lament for tomorrow
Its promise broken
And your khakis red
And baptized
A stigmata
To self infliction
As the music plays constant
And the rushing you feel
An emptying of sorrow
Onto the crushed ceiling
Of a dream in reverse
Of all life in reverse
Until two arms grab you
And you fall from the sky
And you fall from the sky
Waiting
For the ground
To coronate the outcome
And for one more answer
To a ‘why’ unquestioned
And to love you one more time
But the lights are now dim
And the voices muffled
As an organ can be heard
And store bought flowers smelled
And an old woman cries…
As a young woman cries…
And a stranger pronounces
What you feared the most
They didn’t know you
And couldn’t know you
The exit sign flashing
But there is no door
“There is no door”
—and then the music stops

The world,The homes,
The people and their emotions,
Initial contractions of real
expectations, for I have
telepathic connections
The world,The homes
The people, Hiding emotions
of true nature, avoiding the light
of wisdom and interactions,
Its ok for they too have
telepathic connections.
The world,The homes
Hiding people and emotions
Curtains the truth of human
nature. Hidden in homes is their
Telepathic connections.
The world, Hiding homes
people and their emotions,
Affected not by material loss,
Or self infliction of its people.
It is the mother, Thus
Its in fact that telepathic connection.

A Means To An End
Innocense lost to a lifetime of cost
And a childhood mistake
Don't lose your health finding yourself
Or deny the journey that you take
The truth didn't die, and neither did i
Though i tried to set us free
Held by the mesh in my cage of soft flesh
It cuts me more than me
Hoped time would heal scars too real
But the wounds bled again
Self-infliction is a sin
But it's all i can feel
Must suffer my buffer
A means to an end
White lotus at red feet:
we will start self-infliction
explicating
with regrets.
After a rough night
the day was weeping.
From where the bread will
come, when you were playing
with a golden spoon.
This morning I again
dig a hole in heart.
Was the Mayan calender right ?
Why the sun is playing slow music ?
I am coming nearer
to a locked god.
