Dipped to the beat of the music
She brings flavor and spice to the floor
She glitters and drips with excitement
She shines with the glow of amor
Her hips match the beat of the rhythm
Her feet keep the count of the band
Everyone stands back and watches
At the moves between her and her man
She smiles with every twirl
She WOWS with the shake of her hips
She winks as she throws back her head
She blows a kiss from her lips
She's ultimate sexy and sultry
The epitomy of dancing devine
Every man watches and wishes
DAMN!! I wish she was mine.

When blue sky has drawn its veil
That's when passions will prevail
Within the dark of nights closed eyes
Entangled lovers sweat and writhe
A fervent lust. A human need.
A chance to plant the given seed
It starts with just a gentle touch
As light recedes the sky at dusk
Then when the moon and stars arise
A hand is moved from breast to thighs
The roundness of the orb at night
Calls for lovers to delight
Engage in love. Engage in sin
Engage in feelings from within
A chance to touch another soul
Is what brings humans to their whole
Feel the softness of the skin
Two lips pressed against the chin
A moan escapes. A breath is drawn
As nipple is encroached upon
Grasping flesh and tasting love
The constellations stir above
Unclothed bodies in the night
Begin to consummate their plight
A presentation then is made
And well accepted, unafraid
The movement satiates the lust
As joy is drawn from every thrust
Fingers grasp and arms embrace
Contortions dominate the face
Muscles spasm, spASM, SPASM
Oh the joy of such ******
Now there's nothing but a bright
Ever glowing, loving light
Embracing them within that glow
As lovers movements start to slow
Electric feelings then subside
Like ending to a coaster ride
And as the dawn begins to creep
It chases lovers to their sleep
Leaving them to relish in
The echoed sound of pleasures din

She asked him, "Why are you drinking
Before it's 9 am"?
He told her not to worry
She said, "Damn! You're drunk again".
She said that she was tired
Of him sleeping on the couch
She told him forty seven ways
He acted like a slouch
"Get up and fix the plumbing
Go outside and mow the lawn
Close your mouth you stupid ass
Don't let me see you yawn".
"Comb your hair and shave your beard
Look more like a man".
He rubbed his face and shook his head
And said, "How's that again"?
She stomped her feet in fury
As her fist shook back and forth
"I'm going back to mommas
If you don't get up and work".
So he staggered to his feet
And grabbed his britches by the waist
He pulled them up and stumbled off
To find a quiet place
He said that he was going
To the store to by some bread
But never made it further
Than his broke down pick-up bed
Thirty minutes later
He was wakened from his sleep
She took the backyard garden hose
And sprayed him head to feet
He jumped and ran to save himself
And find some place to hide
He heard her cackling like a hen
As she went back inside
He hid behind the bushes
Till he thought the coast was clear
He had to find a way inside
To get another beer
He crept up to the screen door
Looking in to take a peek
He slowly pulled it open
So as not to make it squeak
He slipped inside and closed it
Then he tiptoed 'cross the floor
Quietly he reached out
For refrigerator door
But something caught his eye
And he looked over toward the sink
That dadgum woman took his beer
And poured out all his drink
His head was bent in sorrow
At the tragedy he saw
A dozen soldiers down in flames
And bound by Sundays law
There was nothing left to do
But go and take his seat
Beside his wife of twenty years
Who made his life complete
He loved her 'cause she loved him
It was paradise in hell
He whispered that into her ear
And she said, "Damn you smell".
"Get off me with your drunken breath
Go sit over there".
And so he went and slouched down in
His worn out easy chair
Quietly they watch tv
Into the dark of night
Then went to bed with word unsaid
And turned out all the lights
The end

A quivering heart beats deep in my chest
I have a soul that will not rest
Until I save my damsel distressed
From the life that holds her repressed
Her love is shadowed with sorrow and pain
Her flower of life is feeling so drained
Her petals are dripping like tears in the rain
And her stem is bending from strain
I want to be the light of her day
The soft, gentle breeze that makes her sway
And pushes the clouds of her worries away
I want her to hear what I say
I want to stroke her soft, silky hair
And wipe away her deepened despair
To shine above her through unclouded air
And help her to know that I care

I've been out there climbing mountains
Fighting demons and swimming waves
I've been working for the freedom
From the life that makes us slaves
I've been wishing on a star
That other planets call a sun
Chasing fading rainbows
While trying not to run
I'd like to keep myself in check
And master every turn
I want to know that all I have
Is everything I've earned
I want the joy of knowing how
And knowing when and where
I want to know the peacefulness
Of lifes eternal chair
To sit upon a cloud of joy
And watch the time go by
I'd marvel at the colors of
A blazing sunset sky
My ears would hear the splendid tune
Of angels as they sing
My heart would feel the sweet release
Their joyful voices bring
I'd close my eyes to drift away
Upon an endless flight
And bathe myself within the glow
Of loves eternal light
All of this is what I dream
While carving out my days
In hopes that all I've ever lived
Will never fade away

Set adrift on hapless tides
Away from distant shore
Aloft in time and lost in rhyme
There's nothing less than more
The winds that blow and fill my sails
Are but a memory
They whisper words as they propel
My ship across the sea
I ride the waves, both up and down
I chart the moon and stars
I write my rhymes in maritime
Of journeys near and far
A castaway on rays of sun
I sail the lighted stream
Shores of gold and topaz skies
This thought is but a dream
With that in mind I soar and climb
Beyond celestial bonds
I pitch my tent on banks of prose
And fish the verbal ponds
I seek to find the gentle words
That put my mind at ease
I navigate and contemplate
Upon cerebral seas
My poems are like islands
They're a stop along the way
Tomorrow I can look back on
The things I thought today
I'll soon reach port and then debark
With feet on solid ground
And share with everyone I know
These thoughts I found profound

I lay here lost inside my mind
Trapped within my shell
Hearing all the world around
Can't talk or even yell
My wife tells me she loves me
She strokes me with her hand
I feel her tears roll down my cheek
She tries to understand
My mother and my father both
Stand beside my bed
Sorrow fills their mind and heart
And makes them bow their head
Immobilized, I'm set adrift
Upon a sea of dreams
Connected by a slew of wires
Attached to some machines
If only I could blink an eye
To show that I'm alive
Or squeeze a hand that's holding mine
In hopes that I'll survive
I'm reaching out. I'm trying to shout
But muscles won't obey
I lay here like the bed I'm in
As moments drift away
Somewhere in the darkness
I can hear the spoken words
"Come my son. It's time to go
We'll soar just like the birds"
But how can I just fly away
And leave my life behind
There's so much more I need to do
So much I need to find
My soul is in a quandry
With turmoil in my brain
Inferno rages through me
Like a plague I can't explain
Suddenly I hear the words
Like powder in the mist
"I think that we should let him go
You know we've done our best"
A plug is pulled. A flash of light
Then everything is clear
I'm standing in the room among
The people I endear
They all gather round me now
In silence and in prayer
I look upon their sorrow
And I see how much they care
I wish that I could hug them
With a loving warm embrace
And use my thumb to wipe the tears
From each and every face
But that will never, ever be
Until their time has come
And we can stand together
In the glory of the sun

A tempest rages deep within
A storm brews in my soul
Outside conflict seeping in
And stirring in my bowl
So many things that I expect
And never seem to gain
I try to stand back and reflect
But I'm clouded by the pain
A simple task that I request
Be done when I get home
Is crumpled up and trampled on
Then tossed before my throne
To me it's like a mockery
I'm talking to the wall
Why is it so hard to do
The things I ask you all
An hour a day is all you need
To get these things in line
An hour a day then you can play
And everything is fine
Cold and tired, I come home late
And not a thing has moved
No-one raised a finger here
To see if I'd approve
Why is it so much to ask
For help along the way
I know that all inside this house
Can hear the words I say
When e're I leave before the dawn
To toil in the sun
I hope that this might be the day
When all the chores are done
Maybe just an hour more
Is all the time they need
I give it then I come back home
To find they paid no heed
A tempest rages deep within
The confines of my soul
Thank God I have the poetry
To keep me in control

Living on the lower side
Of town just gets me down
There ain't no money
Ain't no work here to be found
There ain't no luck and I
Ain't seen no magic charms
The only magic that I've found
Is in my babys arms
Litter lines the city streets
To show how much we care
Flowers die and birds get high
From breathing filthy air
I look around and try
To see where beauty lies
The only beauty that I've found
Is in my babys eyes
People try to tell me
We're living in a fantasy
But they don't understand
It's real for her and me
They try to tell me
We're making a mistake
If that means loving her
Then that's the chance I'll take

A wedding ring and locket
Were the only things inside
Two pictures in the locket
Of a husband and his bride
Trembling hands replaced the gold
And re-tied all the strings
Everyone felt guilty
As they viewed these precious things
The second box held letters
Written by a soldiers hand
Post-marked 1995
From a distant desert land
Also there, another note
From U.S. government
Expressing deepest sorrow
And concern for her lament
Everyone now understood
How Marys life was frayed
Her only son was lost to war
And husband passed away
Two tiny little boxes
Were her only claim to life
The consumate devotion
Of a mother and a wife
When there was nothing left to have
That's when she came to stay
Enjoying every hour there
Until she passed away
So pray for Mary in your thoughts
And know she's not alone
She's bathed in precious glory
As she's finally made it home

Dawn draws nigh o'er eastern sky
The orange sun shows his face
Flowers start to recognize
The warmth of his embrace
He'll chase away the darkness that
Had once consumed our night
He'll rise up high and proud above
So we can see his light
He warms the planet Earth with love
And ultra-violet rays
He makes for better picnics
And for better swimming days
But when his shift is over
And he meets the western sea
He'll wave goodbye to lovers
With his colored reverency

I stood upon a cloud of joy
A breeze blew through my hair
I felt the gift of total bliss
And didn't have a care
Something deep within my soul
Had found an open door
I entered in the room of love
And danced across the floor
I thought to me that this must be
The place to find the throne
But then I looked around and saw
That I was all alone
Angelic voices called to me
To move throughout the mist
Their song was like a beacon
And I felt my heart was kissed
Suddenly I saw the sun
And everything was clear
I knew that all I heard was true
And that is why I'm here
I sit upon the greenest grass
I feel a certain calm
I take a memory from my past
And hold it in my palm
I look at what I've done in life
To gain a place in line
I measure all my efforts
And compare them with my time
I wonder what I could have said
To help a friend in need
I wonder what I could have done
To help a growing seed
I ponder this and so much more
While drifting on a breeze
I seek to find some comfort
That will put my mind at ease
When suddenly a caravan
Of angels come my way
They stop to resurrect me
And they carry me away
I take the life and move along
To find a better me
To walk and pray and love each day
For all eternity
If ever I should feel the need
To find my way again
I'll fold my hands and close my eyes
And call upon my friend

Sleepy eyes don't compromise
When Sandman makes his call
Eyelids droop and slowly close
As head begins to fall
Try to fight fatigue at night
But you will not succeed
Dreams demand their place in line
And we must all take heed
So close your eyes and drift away
In slumbers soft embrace
The stars above will stand their guard
So you can sleep in peace

I saw the light and I was afraid
I didn't want to go to it
I wanted to turn and run
But I knew it would follow me
I felt as if I was in a tunnel
Nowhere to turn. Nowhere to hide
Moving to the light would be the end
Pain. Tragedy. Ensuing sorrow
But I knew I had no choice
I was compelled
Condemned, if you will
Sentenced to suffer the coming event
So I moved onward into my fate
And at the time of judgment
The official looked at my license and insurance
Then he said to me...
You're good to go
Have a good night

Dramatic Monologue
I could do the body all day
Perform in a sexual way
The bump and the grind
Massaging the mind
And making it seem like a play
I took one look at her wonder
Deciding just how I would plunder
That beautiful ground
That grew on her mound
And that's when I slid from up under
I'd start with my fingers and tongue
The way I did when I was young
A hey diddle here
A play fiddle there
And over the moon we were flung
It was hard when I finished the job
I went from the shaft to the knob
But the fluid was slick
And I got such a kick
That I helped her wipe up the glob
