It’s only the good that die young.
I sadly have found it seems true.
While evil across earth is flung,
God’s purest of souls are too few.

I sadly have found it seems true
the wicked live long past their prime.
God’s purest of souls are too few.
On earth they live but a short time.

The wicked live long past their prime.
The goodly to heaven do go.
On earth they live but a short time.
The sun shines on the righteous though!

The goodly to heaven do go,
while evil across earth is flung.
The sun shines on the righteous. . . though
It’s only the good that die young!

Tale Of Righteous And Just Demise Of Old Jack

Old Jack had shot many before, once just for the sheer hell of it
Never squeamish about the gore or splattered about fleshy bits
Once making it an all night spree, drinking whiskey after each shot
Only once did he do it for free, knowing generosity fills no empty pot.

One hot June night, he did away with tough cat called dangerous Dan
Such a bloody sight, no easy task but put sweet coin in his empty pan
Next day trip at the lake, he sniper shot famous knife fighter Jake
A cool twenty grand take, such sweet fun nobody could ever fake.

Old Jack, wicked as all hell, sure such Fate he would never meet
Called his shots "ringing the bell", having never faced a defeat
Once for big money, shot three men in a shady lakefront bar
Later for loss of his "honey", ran over ex-wife's lover with his car.

One cool Spring day, stranger came sworn to make old Jack pay
Dressed in a beggerdly way, as a weakened and feeble old stray
With hidden might and its all, Fate had finally sent its dark call
While Jack was having a ball, swift bullet made its bloody landfall.

Young John proud as all hell, had so gaily rang Jack's old bell
Had his story to soon tell, how he spate on dying Jack as he fell
One shot between those beady eyes, hundred bucks the prize
Nobody there shed a tear, for now there was young John to fear.

Premium Member Becoming Righteous Brings Righteousness

Becoming righteous is a high ask
who indeed can claim this real prize
for God declares all as sinners
so need God to give you rise

Being able to achieve righteous deeds
won't bring a righteousness divine
for deeds can't make you such
only God can show you His sign

God is the author of true righteousness
for He is righteous perfectly true
always has been past and forever
brings Christ's imputed righteousness upon you

The good Lord now sees us as Christ
with His righteousness upon our frame
so God accepts us as His holy ones
now Satan can't cast us with any blame

Now we can do righteous deeds
seeing we are righteous altogether
such a blessing and privilege to have
God has endowed it upon us forever

(Quote:
" We do not become righteous by doing righteous deeds but, having been made righteous, we do righteous deeds".)
- Martin Luther ( 1483-1546)

The Sun Shines On the Righteous

The sun shines on the righteous,
But on the unrighteous too.
So those who aren’t aware yet,
Can know that they are loved too.

The righteous are not perfect,
Hence, they do make mistakes.
However, they love their fiends
To spur their hearts to remake.

Their model is the loving God,
Who gives us all the rain,
The moon, the stars and yes the Son,
So happy all remain.

The righteous are not quick to judge,
They wish to shine their light,
On those who are the victims
Of the dark world and its might.

To all, the glorious trumpet sounds
Announcing God’s Goodwill,
Who accepts us sinners if we repent,
And begin to do His will.

(Matthew 5:44-48)

The morality of justice
     is the light of righteousness.
     Its virtue rises not
     from concern or faith alone
but is driven by the needs
     and love for others
and to act with compelling deeds.
It is a God given attribute.
To do right is to be righteous.
     On that imperative,
     the sun will always rise
     on that which is honorable
     to the heart of God.
     The righteous are bathed
in the brightness of its dawn
     and reside in the sanctity
     of that divine peace...

The sun shines on the righteous
Yet it still shines on those who sin
It could guide them on the right path
And a better way of life will soon begin

God’s continual light is like a beacon
It shines throughout our entire life
Endeavour to retain a strong faith
It can see you through times of strife

There was a cloud hung over him
a presence, an impending doom.
He seemed one lightning strike away
from enlightenment - or entombment.
Haunted by the stigma of divine dissatisfaction
a wanderer in a spiritual maelstrom
questioning the questions of the questioners,
thinking on the thoughts of the thinkers,
worshiping at the edges of heresy,
praying for the efficacy of his prayers.
Hidden in the silence of life’s tomb
innocence interred beneath this “cloud”.

The sun never shone, the rain never fell,
on the unrighteousness of the righteous.

Since our life is but a grain of sand
Somewhere in the vastness of perpetuity
We may do well to reconsider
In the grandest scheme of things
The most precious skills to own
To be undoubtedly what helps us
Score high in the affairs of the soul
To live in harmony with karmic law
And at peace with the universe
In tune with mystical aura of eternity
As we search for the meaning of life
And spiritual success in afterlife

Woke Righteous

No dispute, we should all love our neighbours
With a kindness of nature that’s right
And we ought to be generous, favour
Our excesses, to those in dire plight
But then ‘ought’ becomes ‘must! or we’ll take it’
With imprimatur, hand outs for free
Delegating as agents our rulers
To make sure the fruit falls from our tree

And the words of the woke decreed righteous
Are: ‘What good boys and girls are we!’

Yes I’ll go with you - black lives matter!
And the yellow and brown even white
And that all should be equally treated
Should have always been so in hindsight
But what’s past is gone, no going back to
make amends to dead who suffered then
Though those wishing to signal their virtue
proclaim race guilt with voice and with pen

And the hearts of the woke decreed righteous
  Self congratulate then and again

I’ve a naive and innocent feeling
That the most of us have good intent
And would care for our friends and yet strangers
If misfortune and pain cause lament
So I trust that with this fellow feeling
In a civilised culture that’s free
Help will be given self determined
With no need for dictate or decree

Then the souls of the woke decreed righteous
may find deeper content with this key

Consumed

I feel the agony
Crawling up my legs
Gnawing at my arms
Ripping into me
Trying to take over
I fight and fight
Till the pain grows
Never stopping as it eats away at me
Ripping through me.
Many might believe
It’s simple to be consumed
that it’s quick and painless
but I know the feeling.
The sickening feeling of being devoured and consumed by the righteous,
But come to think of it,
I preferred the darkness more.
