Premium Member The Wait

No end where love's found
no beginning, though there must've been
I can't recall, seems it was always there
going on and on..

No life better known, restless like the forest
hearts awaken at new sight and sound
teasing I see, so pleasing..
two corners lifting at your mouth.

You can go on now, find me..
the place you always knew
waiting, silent as a stone
body and soul lost to you.

A place with no beginning
no tomorrows, nor sorrows
we'll leave them at the gate.
Oh my love, I can't breathe,
can hardly bear the wait.

Premium Member On Restless Wings

I wrote verse on the wings of a lark
romantic phrases in perfect rhyme
but the lark flew away in the dark
I wrote no further for the longest time

A lone blue jay landed upon my lawn
I wrote sweet prose on his sapphire wings
He spent the night with me, but at dawn
the jay flew away and no longer sings

I answered the call of a beautiful raven
I wrote love sonnets on his ebony wings
He stayed for years in my safe haven
I was one of the raven's castoff things

I no longer trust those who take flight
I lost them all and my torn heart bled
On restless wings I'll never again write
of love that leaves me alone in my bed

Premium Member Oh Restless Heart

Fly away, oh restless heart
                   seek thy rainbow’s end
Leave me to my reverie
                         spirit now to mend

Find your way, my restless heart
                   winging toward the sky
May you reach a place of peace
              and know the reasons why

While I sojourn deep within
            walls meant to surround me
Venture forth and eye for me
             things that will astound me

Comfort me with tales of joy
              regale your mythic travels
Then fly home, oh restless heart
               before my sense unravels

THE RESTLESS SEA

As dawn swept 'way the morning stars
                           A gloomy Helen glared
Poor Paris stood in silence-- watched--
He’d kiss her if he dared.

The sea was raging round their heads
                           The men rowed without cease
The lovers headed to their doom--
A myth is birthed in Greece

Ten thousand ships launch in pursuit
                           Rough soldiers flex their knees--
                           Today hunt thieves tomorrow queens--
Men do what kings will please

The soldiers puked and gambled hard
                           Twas boredom that they feared
A seasick trip was just a jaunt--
                           The Trojan shore appeared

The glory grew beyond Troy’s walls
The truth no one can trust….
Dark tragedy writ in the books--
                           Tis flung among the dust.

Restless Heart

A river may babble
The wind may sigh
A cloud may rumble
Are they any more at peace than I?

Oceans may swell
Volcanoes erupt
And a dam can burst
Do their hearts stop as abrupt?

Tornadoes may destroy
Lightning strikes from the sky
And an earthquake can ruin all:
Do they hurt any more than I?

Restless nights and guarded days
chastise a heart that has strayed.
And vowing to mend your ways
past sins, await penance paid.

As the months morph into years,
pressures build, as nerves get raw.
And laden with fears and tears,
fantasies and dreams withdraw.

Empty lies shadow your past:
cast by promises pending.
And the years slip by so fast
that you fear your time's ending.

When trust is left to fate's whim
forever friendships break.
While passion's flame grows so dim,
Hope can't see past the heartache.

O'er the years, time's fabric frays,
failing to postpone old age.
And you're running out of days,
till you must exit life's stage.

Restless

Beneath the veil of night
Restless limbs lay tangled
Amongst her linens and her doubts
Sun kissed skin, remembering him
Her fingers gently trace
The faintest whisper of his touch
Soft upon her breath, his name
She must learn to say goodbye

Restless

Bump bump bump goes my heart
I wanna pop into your arms like I'm fresh from the toaster
but in reality I watch as you
live your life with others I'm like a poster
hanging on your walls always there
but plastered up I can't reach you

Life isn't fair but If I could do anything I'd wish
that we could leave the fantasy world
behind because my feelings are far
from pretend.

My friends they should become preachers
because their always trying to preach
they tell me to show you my heart
and to through away the stupid key.

I'm afraid that if I say what I really
want you will remove me from your walls
for good. But isn't that what love is about
risking it all to be where we should?

I would do anything to find a cure
but the brain is from venus
and the heart is from mars
when they try to communicate
the signal often gets lost or
batteries forget to be charged.
But for now I'll just toss and turn
in my bed because it's the only way
I know.

I have no idea where I will go,
But I know that if you let love be it can travel
through light, rain or snow.
without you I feel like my personal economy
is low but we must go, we must go, we must go.
We must face the unknown.

The hour’s late, and I can’t sleep.
My mind rebels at counting sheep.
Sweet dreams are very far away,
and worries surface from the deep.

I lie awake and wait for day.
I close my eyes and try to pray.
If all my faith is spent and lost,
how will I keep my fears at bay?

I wish that I had known the cost
of squandered youth and friendships tossed.
Though wisdom oft is error’s gain,
regret may soon my soul exhaust.

But now against my windowpane
the tap, tap, tap of gentle rain,
a gift to calm my fretful brain.
I’ll soon drift off to sleep again.

A Restless Girl In a Pink Bedroom

A restless girl in a pink bedroom
  Scans the implacable ceiling,
Or buries her face in a book
  To subdue the hurting feeling.
And the days fall flat as roadkill,
Grind on and cool their heels
In minutes and hours of deadlock,
  Like rusted cogs and wheels.
Childhood sneaks to closure,
  And nothing does no good
On the border between confusion
  And the bloom to womanhood.
In the tangle of ebony hair
Lank and listless on the sheet,
And the summer-kiss tan of her skin
Lie the sorrowful signs of defeat.
She could cry for the ending of times
  Rose-tinted with visions of love,
Now a restless girl in a pink bedroom
Sighs and stares at the ceiling above.

Restless Waters

A little leaf floating on restless waters -
but I'll go where the river takes me
till I find you out in the sea.

Restless and unhappy,am I!
To be so desirous to live totally free, under blue skies.
Not living one day more, behind closed doors.
So fed up with sanitizing floors and doors.
People in masks look totally ridiculous.
Perhaps some love this fear-carousel,so totally incredulous!

Created by none other than that beast, Satan in hell!
His green eyes glow with your utter fascination.
That you are upset that you cannot get that vaccination.
We have God's power to make things right!
Those children without real schooling are in a humanitarian blight!
Lock downed states have more deaths, a surrealistic blight.
Not in Florida, where you can live free and take a breath.
I ask again....Is it really only me?
Who wants back my full American dignity and liberty?

Yesterday mother nature was restless, strong winds blew
Kind of like my restless heart, sitting alone, waiting for you
Overnight's dreams calmed me like a soft blown breeze
Today is settled and quiet, with beams of sun on snow through the trees
I am not one to know the timing of greetings or goodbyes
On these rolling hills through life, with silent, distant, cries
For this, for that, for all that ensues,
After those restless moments when we are gifted to choose

MY Restless Heart

My heart gets restless if I don't take it for a walk,
Sometimes I let it out to sit on my sleeve,
To enjoy the fresh air and sunshine,
Not caring if others talk,
Or, if I am seen as a bit of a dork,
As it is fresh air and sunshine,
That keeps the concepts of Romance and hope alive.

Sometimes it pops up in my head,
For a talk with my conscience,
Acting in its stead when it is not in residence,
Or at other times giving my feet a pep talk
Enough to make a walk, more than just talk.
