The Wait

Listen to poem:
No end where love's found
no beginning, though there must've been
I can't recall, seems it was always there
going on and on..

No life better known, restless like the forest
hearts awaken at new sight and sound
teasing I see, so pleasing..
two corners lifting at your mouth.

You can go on now, find me..
the place you always knew
waiting, silent as a stone
body and soul lost to you.

A place with no beginning
no tomorrows, nor sorrows
we'll leave them at the gate.
Oh my love, I can't breathe,
can hardly bear the wait.

Hi Paul, Thankyou, the music had that effect as I wrote this for a special someone. “And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.” -Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

Mystic Rose Rose, Thank you for that comment, and for not scolding me for all the missed Wednesday poetry readings. I'll get there one day soon. Best wishes in the new year for a fellow poet who understands what it feels like to be truly vulnerable. -Richard

I have been too negligent in reading but was fortunate enough to read this one today. I would've missed the smile that curved my lips as I read your line about a heart awakening. I remember...

Lin, Thank you. I'm so glad you returned to write here again, more than you know. The Soup wasn't the same without you. The question raised: Can love be found twice in a lifetime? The answer I found: It can if you let it. Best wishes for you in the new year my dear poet friend. -Richard

It's my prayer that God's love will keep on upholding you as you anticipate for the realization/fruition of this: "A place with no beginning no tomorrows, nor sorrows we'll leave them at the gate. Oh my love, I can't breath, can hardly bear the wait." Thanks likewise for constantly cheering me up with your uplifting comments. God bless you. A blessed New Year to you and your loved ones.
