Visions In Rem

pages to a story like dreams to a night
while consciousness starts to dim unconsciousness remains bright

like words to a book that composes a plots design
thoughts create a vision to which a dream refines

when eyelids act as mirrors and not protective shields
they reflect the visions that lucid dreams reveal

when the mind remains alert, its creativity waves
but during the state of slumber imagination reigns

as logic takes a back seat, while consciousness remains asleep
the mind displays a movie the memory fails to fully keep

but sometimes a vision is more than just a dream
like the patches of the past un-stitched at the seams

suffocating senses with the rush of emotions so fast
like getting in a time machine and travelling to the past

the body remains still at the time speed barrier
as the mind excellerates forward using thoughts as the carrier

the faster forward into the past, the slower the future becomes
as time travel is only possible in the mind away from the universe's hum

the past it jumps to a vision of times unknown
as the heart reveals to the mind how it wants the future to be shown

like molecules of a comet frozen in space halted by the speed of time
thoughts race forward to find the visions there in the future's mind

like a drawing made with a pencil, the mind details the future in shades of gray
but the road that appears before is a path with a colorful display

as the mind races forward the body remains untravelling
with every vision seen the future continues unravelling

the end of this road is close as the vision reveals a clearing
yet the path to a new road begins and the end of this one is nearing

now the grays fill in with colors as the dawn of reality resumes its essence
the role of logic takes control while consciouness unites the present

like the sun brings light to the face of a new dawn
in the mind inspiration for the future has spawned

Why isn't it easy to call you at will?
Couldn't I just Twitter or email you until
You provide the answer in clear, solid terms
So that I don't have to lie in your chaotic squirms?

Instead, you tug at my psyche
And laugh at my logic.
You taunt and tug at my struggles
And sap my dream tonic.
You expose my repression
While disguised as a friend
All the while sneaking around
In my personal REM.

A swirl of feelings
Interferes with the theme.
Makes my heart pound and pound.
Makes it seem like a scheme
To interrupt sleep
And destroy my 8 hours.
To wither my psyche
And sap super powers.

And then comes the waiting
Sometimes for years
Of what this all means
Could it always be fear?

But unknown to you
Over time you are helping
To harness the pounding
And process all my days' yelpings
So that I can function in the AM and more
While you are repressed as
I cozily soar.

While I sneak and scheme in your chaotic REM
I am doing nothing more than being a friend.

Those dream-swirls and ‘mare-tugs purge your mind’s eye
so that your psyche can grow and won’t suddenly die.

While you’re gripping tightly to antique feelings that won’t budge
I’m prying them out; giving them a strong nudge.

And as you grudgingly work through a feeling or two
I am working my hardest to make you feel what is true.

I even may help you work out a solution or two
Because during the day you are too busy to.

Who else provides perks that allow you to be
both young and old in the very same dream?

So tell me dear, and answer me this.
What would you do if many nights I missed

And was sneaking around in another soul’s REM
What would your sanity be like then?

Without my help to work out thoughts
That keep you quite sane…

Would you then turn around
And try to cast blame?

Saying Subby’s absence caused you to act like a drip?
Saying Subby’s absence caused your tongue to Freudian slip?

Instead your mind can skyrocket and cozily soar
After I recede in the A.M. and work behind your mind’s door.

Rapid eye movement helps
               restore the dreaming mind,
         regenerating and
recharging its matter.
         Relax and prepare to
              recall subconscious realms,
                                          revisiting wonders.

Rem

She was free to believe
Everything she was, Everything she could be
Did not just have to be a dream
That if she saw it, it was possible
So she knew she couldn't play it safe
Yet how could the possible seem so impossible

Till she made her dream a living thing

The Revision of Retro's Rem

Winters break; here, sitting at the study while thinking of years gone by; a curtain's
Drawn to hide the world; times heart not wishing their melancholy moments amid
Silver powder and black lace lies; casting it's gangrene dream's aside pastels pink...
Infused these red droplets, claiming to be blue; paper back novels trimmed in gold
Words, as colourful banners; sea gray sea; peering through stain-glassed window's
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Rem Changeling

She danced upon my sleepy knife-edge
Rem sleep concealed; my hollow tin ledge
Was the naked girl who stole my show

Labanotation echoed her tarred shamed knees
Free falling from grace, cumulating fees
Have every my gutter pushed so low?

Integument tally, a dollar per pound
Rumoured lies within; no truth found
Flesh voucher paid in Bordeaux

So I flickered in though
Scar tissue hand did plough
My poured soda fountain flow

Rem Shavings

i awoke from my dream of wandering.
it was one in the morning. shaking my head,
i pulled back the covers and a light appeared.

a form took shape before my eyes; it was a
female, but she had no skin. behind her
was a set of silver butterfly wings.

gasping, i started to shiver in fright.
"i am your guardian angel," she said
and held out her hand towards me. i shook it.

her flesh was warm. i could see her fingernails.
they were ethereal like her hair. i reached
for a cigarette. she took them from me.

she shook her head and turned over her hand.
the cigarettes were gone. i began to
protest. she put a finger on my lips.

"why have you grown tired with life, " she asked.
i shook my head. she smiled, the produced a
bright blue sapphire from her mouth and raised it.

the stone's star shone. "this will help you to think
about life in a better way." she placed
the stone on my forehead. the stone vanished.

i felt lightheaded and my eyes fluttered.
when my vision became clear, the angel
stood before me with silver skin, hair, and nails.

she nodded her head, then she faded.
nodding my head, i smiled and said a prayer.
i went back to sleep and dreamed life in pink.

Premium Member Rem Mode

In purple twilight of REM mode
where loss of reaction dwells.
Inner thoughts corrupt, corrode,
peaceful slumber, anxiety swells.

Eyes flutter trying to concentrate,
directing bodily forces, not there.
Focusing thought to force irate
confrontation to the obtuse, fare.

The scene comes and goes away,
we reach within our mind to grab it,
clinging, we emerge and sway,
between fact and fiction we emit.

Stop, let my true dream emerge,
Not some farcical, non real jam
woven from cognizant thought gurge.
Let me spin truth’s web of who I am.

REM dreams rerun
	the Saturday morning
	Flash Gordons
	of my sub-conscience
	on the backs
	of my eyelids.

	The battle between
	good and evil,
	Flash versus Ming the Magnificent,
	continues unabated
	in the waking world,
	so I might as well
	go back to sleep.

Rem Sleep

Late one night I did wrestle; with thoughts and dreams in R.E.M.'s gray matter vessel. Twisted words contorted visions melding together: how I wanted to wake. Held captive by R.E.M. He did thawart my escape. Struggle, fight, toss and turn gasping for breath trying hard to flee his gray matter vessel. Bursting out of the darkness my rescuer arrives her name is dawn and she holds no surprise. R.E.M. Cannot stand against dawns power; he loses his grip and I break free from his gray matter vessel and it's frightening keep.

Are we really here?
Or do we lie in R.E.M. state
and this is a dream.
One from which we will not wake
until we die within it.

Worse case, we are here
and this is our self made hell.
Just waiting to die.
When we do die, will we dream?
And if we dream, will we wake?

And when by chance we
do wake. Will we find out
what we fear was true?
We are but a figment of
someone's imagination
