Premium Member Intolerable

I cannot tolerate the ones with haloed head
Who boast of their achievements, put on an act instead.
I cannot tolerate the perfect, always right
Who claim to love their neighbour omitting black or white.
I cannot tolerate the ones who share your pack
Pretending to be helpful then stab you in the back.
I cannot tolerate the friends who pick your brain
Intent on infiltration determined to make gain.
I cannot tolerate the types who wish you well
They swear to loyal virtue, but then they kiss and tell.
I cannot tolerate the false and double-faced
They are the parasitic, their tongue with poison laced.
I cannot tolerate the guys who look for fights
They cause much harm while pleading the law to back their rights.
I cannot tolerate the tempters with their faith
They are the instigators, the ones who love to hate.*
They cannot tolerate my face, but I’m alright
My aim is to expose them, oppose with all my might.

I Need Time To Heal

Tell me why, but tell me True-
Spare me the heartbreak of a Lie
I would lay forever in these meadows...
Forever, until I die!
To rid myself of all the Pain,
And the Sorrows of what I feel
To ease my Mind, my worried Brain
(Lord! The Cuts! I need to heal)

*Referring to my problems with "Borderline Personality Disorder"; many of us are "cutters"

Premium Member Ptsd Advice

As I see it there is no cure
Meds can help that's for sure
But meds can make things alot worse
Mental health is a real bad curse

The meds will help you sleep at night
Or even help you fight or flight
The effects may damage your internal store
Kidneys livers even more

I know this at first hand
So join me on this awareness stand
I stand here totally med free
Trying to think rationally

Its about trapped memories
We must search for the keys
The only way to rid this fear
Process the memory shed a tear

To process the memory we must go back
Get the processor back on track
Its a complex piece of machinery
It's called the brain can't you see

They talk of trauma and incidents
Put it in the box sounds magnificent
The filing cabinet is over flowing
PTSD just keeps on growing

So relax and ground yourself
Another winner in mental health
Do this and return from hell
Use sight, touch, sound and even smell

Bring yourself out of the dark place
Look around for the friendly face
Open up and talk it through
This victory does belong to you

Many types of help out there
A lot of family and friends do care
Don't try to fight it on your own
The black dog has just grown

Try the doctors or self refer
You need help that's for sure
Once in the system your tool box is bigger
Hit the black dog with the big yellow digger

He will never totally disappear
You will be stronger have no fear
When he raises his ugly head
Your strength will put him back to bed

I am referring to therapy
Non intrusive just you see
It's not for everyone I do know
But surely it is worth a go

Finally I will just say
Take every day
DAY BY DAY
Stay strong and remain positive
You've deserved the right to live

Premium Member Our Limited Understanding

What did he mean
when he said
turn the other cheek?
Does it mean
violence isn't the answer
and peace is always the way?

Is it to deny the natural
carnal response?
To challenge the older laws
that have long been ensconced?

Maybe it's a come on
to the ungodly
"Give me what you got
I have no need to be afraid."
Maybe he meant
our bones are fragile
but our hope is not?
It shall never rust nor decay.

Surely a punch in the face
is no threat to one's life.
If a man put a gun to your wife
would you just let her die??

(surely life is precious
but God have mercy
should it come to this)

Should we cast down our weapons,
trade them for pruning hooks?
Is that what Jesus meant?
Or perhaps, maybe,
it begs you to take a deeper look.
and gaze at the wisdom God has sent.

Does it not surely mean that hatred
can't be snuffed out
by more hatred?
There are many trials we go through
but one thing we must know
is that love should always be sacred.

When he stated
Ye are the Light of the World
does that not imply
that the world itself is DARKNESS?
It's a gloomy forbidding place
with many pricks and thorns:
why add to the harshness?

For now it seems
we see through a glass darkly.
Having trouble deciphering
the passages and what they meant.
What about Romans 13
where it says, Execute vengeance
against those who do evil?
To whom is it referring
and to what extent?

Our limited understanding
leaves us grounded.

NOTE: This was written in response (and inspiration) to Liam McDaid's poem titled Thou Shalt Not Kill. It's a very fascinating topic, and one where I don't quite have answers...

Premium Member Friend I'Ve Never Seen

A kindred spirit halfway 'round the world
I can not see his face only his heart
His kind words and verses reveal his pearls
Exuding confidence and mind so sharp
Does he hoist his sail with wind in his face
And drop his anchor in quiet lagoons
Or keep wind to the rear as if to race
Send dreams up high like helium balloons
Does he smile and whistle returning home
Reconnecting to his past and old friends
Maybe stay in the present ne'er to roam
And live within and on no one depend
I think it would be nice to sit and talk
And to share some laughs on a friendly walk

Premium Member Love, Love, Love

Why am I attracted to certain types of women

The ones that display that indescribable feminine trait

Demure yet with that certain openness and lust for life

Those that send out those unmistakable signals

All men know what I referring to

It's a very feminine charm that beckons us to come hither

That says I want to know more about you

And we are all too eager to oblige

Hence the beginning

Stage two of this trial period happens

Engaging in conversation, we size up each other

And then it either ends at that point

Or it becomes the beginning of a relationship

With further exploration

More times than not, the relationship flourishes

Because the initial attraction was genuine

And is followed by a lasting affair

It is amazing how one's instinct

Usually steers us down the right path

Until we discover it, love is very difficult to define

It is all encompassing, life changing

The ultimate emotion, three cheers for love

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

Premium Member The Little Red Fire Truck Ride

Jingle, jingle... jingle
As we emptied our piggy-banks
Hoping we saved up twenty five cents
Every Saturday afternoon, we would excitedly wait
Twelve O'clock sharp the bells would ring
Screen doors flew open when we heard them
The kids in the neighborhood...
Immediately stopped doing whatever they were doing
Whether the boys were flipping baseball cards or shooting marbles
Or the girls were playing Hop-Scotch or dressing Barbie dolls
We all ran to the corner of Craig street at noon
"All Aboard" yelled the fire chief
"Drop your quarters in the box and have a seat
Don't worry folks, this old jalopy runs well"
He was referring to the little red fire truck
It was rebuilt and custom made just for children to ride in
We cruised the back streets with our hands held high; screaming
'round every bend...we laughed
Tails wagged as dog's chased behind
Putt, putt... putt
"Ride over children, exist to the rear...
See you next weekend" the fire chief yelled

Premium Member If I Were U

My thoughts today, if “U” were “I”
                                  imagine how to justify
An accidental “switcheroo”
would change it all around for you

You thunk you typed the word to think
That brunk you right back from the brink
That truck that you drove home last night
would be a trick! that sheds some light!

If “I” were “U”, I’d check my work
a duty that we ought not shirk
with sicks and sucks and picks and pucks
and don’t forget those ticks and tucks

Good Luck would now be a Good Lick
not bad but you know, it might stick
and serving Duck would be a kick
instead, you would be serving @!@!

And Just in case anyone thinks that the last line is “bawdy”
I was referring to the British pudding with dried fruit!!!

Premium Member Outside the Box

Heard the term “outside the box”?

What box are they referring to?

Sitting in my jammies at my computer

Don't see no box, do you?

A term you hear a lot these days

What can it possibly mean

This old guy is totally confused

Totally betwixt and between

Catch phrases have always confused me

Prefer simple Dick and Jane words

So all us grandpas can decipher them

This stuff is sure for the birds

Maybe I'll get an old cardboard box

And sit me therein for a while

Then emerge and start thinking of stuff

In a clever “outside the box” style

Really that's not at all what it means

Heard someone say emphatically

To go where no man has ever gone

Think a lot more erratically

Now confused much more than ever

Think I'll lie down for a while

Till the world spins a few more times

And I get back my winning smile

Premium Member One of the Greatest Baseball Heroes

On April 26, 1992 a baby boy was born to parents that did not want him. The parents chose to not abort, instead of terminating his life in the womb, they gave him up for adoption. Adopted he was loved and had wonderful parents that cared and nurtured him through his upbringing. Because two wonderful human beings cared for this young man, he grew up to be a role model for other Kids, in a generation where Heroes are needed to be looked up to, in a dark world that we are living in today. This young man did not succumb to drugs, crime, or hate. He stood out like a beacon of light and hope for those less fortunate in those evil environments. He was an overcomer to say the least. The one in a million Lottery ticket winner, if you will. Sadly he could have been an aborted statistic but God had other plans for this young man. At 30 years old he was 6ft 7 inches tall, 282 lbs. He beat the world record for homeruns in a single season without using drugs, or steroids, he accomplished this with hard work and training, and dedication. He is on par to win one of Baseball's greatest Honors, the Triple Crown. He could be the greatest player to play baseball of all time, but more importantly the life he has led, overshadows his abilities as a baseball player. He is what Heroes are made of. It all started with a Couple's love to adopt. Yes, my friends, the Hero I am referring to is America's greatest baseball player Aaron Judge. The story doesn't end there. For there are Five Heroes here. They are the original parents that chose to spare his life and give him up for adoption. They are Patty and Wayne Judge who opened their homes and hearts to raise a lovely son for the world to appreciate and love. Aaron leads by example. In all of the darkness in this world, God gave us a Light to see and appreciate through Aaron Judge...

Moonlight Road

Singing on the moonlight road
Lies a virtuous heartfelt star.
An emblem that bodes no code
Of masks that may go too far

Strumming on the moonlight road
Lies a spirit of such tender,
Accepting one as a church mode
Rather than a soul of blunder.

Walking on the moonlight road
Lies a friend of no mind game
Showing up here with an ode
A toast to you bearing a Name.

The Name I’m referring to
Is not a name of some brand
Nor a name of the good few
Yet a name of a helping hand so grand!

The Name I’m referring to
Is a veteran of hope
Veteran of an ardent hue,
Yet no veteran of a slope

Therefore, a wise friend is here
To leave you a short message
A message with no damage
That we appreciate your care

Premium Member Dedicated To P D

Poet Destroyer and theKidster, SillyBilly
were once slamming opponents on this soup of poetry.
I would slam her initially,
then she would slam me (very poorly).
I would always concede eventually
but not because P D truly crushed me.
I was just acting compassionately humanly.
I didn't want to cause her to cry like a little big baby.
I must however give credit to little P D.
She had multiple accounts at this soup of poetry
and one of her multiple personalities
would conspire with me on how to crush P D.
Little did I know I was conversing with she.
Pretty ingenious if you ask me.
I'm getting off track and referring to her kindly.
That's not how a true slam is supposed to be.
