An Autumn Portrait of Beauty

On this quite beautiful and most radiant Autumn day,
I marvel at Mother Nature’s smile of silent pulchritude,
As I make a loving glance at such luscious scenery today,
In this country scene—a glorious gift of God’s certitude!

The trees and their fallen amber leaves adorn this Earth,
As a shimmering reflection pervades from a green pond,
Of Nature’s wonder with colors arrayed in a sacred rebirth,
Affirming God’s heavenly promise true and His holy bond!

This view of trees, grass, leaves, and a shadow near the pond,
Captures the glory and grace from God’s colored-palette a true,
That affirms His desire of rendering this beauty from beyond,
And I thank Him from my heart with joy and blessings so true!

Yes, God doth paint this world with such love for all to see,
His Autumn portrait here is of unparalleled artistry and grace,
That I interpret as a heavenly-made moment for all of us to be,
As I reaffirm the beauty of Nature’s gift in this wondrous place!

On the bed, my ginger cat settles
onto a pile of clean laundry, dryer warm

Feline steady stare, resolute
           a strategy of possession
she relaxes the way prayer soothes

"Off!" I command. My cat an unwelcome bedded guest.
she whines, "Surely, he's bluffing!"
                       solidified
                       empowered
swollen in the pride of "I'm not moving!"
meows spewed like an anthem of resistance

I lift her from the pile,
my underwear dangles from cat claws
like cheap tinsel on a tree
she exits, her short lived reign
         sulks into howls of whining

         till dinner softens her rebuff
till wherever curiosity and comfort take her,
                                                                       anew

My hope of co-habitation:
to calm the little woes of daily chores
to reduce cat prestige from shedded hair
to shrink feline non-compliance to a
                                             manageable scale

Our social contract - a trade off
       to reaffirm my status
to maintain the charade of "boss"
       an unsteady footing
in the crushed aspiration of rule

If you hope to be one of means and property,
And to be perceived as truly ‘one of a kind’,
Never tolerate or accept mediocrity.

Develop, while young, this fine quality.
Reaffirm it daily in your mind.
If you hope to be one of means and property.

Over-acheivers are definitely a scarcity;
Average and below average people aren’t hard to find.
Never tolerate or accept mediocrity.

You’ll always be surrounded by those in poverty.
Work harder in body and smarter in mind
If you hope to be one of means and property

While you’re young, consider this your duty:
Knowledge is power--education of any and every kind.
Never tolerate or accept mediocrity.

Someday when you're frail, old, and crotchety,
You’ll recall what I had you commit to mind:
If you hope to be one of means and property,
Never tolerate or accept mediocrity.

Breaking Bread

For the presence of
Self-fulfilling wisdom
And the sake of all that
     Which is Holy
The Dear Lord breaks bread
      With His disciples'
   Some the holy of the
      Most holy
Some the highest of the
           Most high
To refurbish the Covenant
              Once again
      Then so dispense
His conciliatory Wine
       As a tribute
To reaffirm the faith
         Of all Man

Premium Member Lets Fall In Love

If you could rewind time,
would you choose me again?
Or, trade your yesterdays
for less anguish and pain.

When today fades from view,
let's welcome tomorrow.
And think of our future;
not dwell on past sorrow.

Love's candle remains lit,
but its flame's flickering.
And it's all due to our
fighting and bickering.

There's enough spark left to
relight passion's flame.
And we've too much to lose
not to restart the game.

Let's fall in love once more,
like we did at the start.
And reaffirm our love,
while we still share one heart.

The Gold 'Mind' Within

Amidst life's drudgery and dins,
In this economic stranglehold,
Zero wastes and empty bins,
Hallmarks of every household.

Ability to extricate self,
From the pressures and momentarily seek relief,
In the comfort of your inner self,
To reflect and reaffirm self belief.

Ability to explore the eerie dark silence,
Strangely heartening stillness,
Of your mind: a laboratory of science,
For self re-awakening and psychological wellness.

With ideas like tiny light flickers,
Inside black, form-less nothingness,
Flashing left and right like stickers,
Pasted on walls in the depths of emptiness.

Ability to listen, see and focus,
Tap from this 'ideas' gold mine,
Eliminating your mind's hocus-pocus,
Will ensure you drink of life's fine wine.

Premium Member That Green-Eyed Monster

He was right to be suspicious
She was acting suspiciously
So he followed her that morning
To see what he might see

She didn’t go towards her office
She took the road to the ocean shore
And pulled up to a motel where
They had never been before

He watched her get a room key
Then go to a cabin with an ocean view
He was hurting so much inside himself
He didn’t know just what to do

He saw another man knock on the door
Looking tall and younger than him
He loaded the pistol from inside his car
As she let the stranger in

He shot her once aside the head
Him twice in the face
Then turned the pistol upon himself
Making a full mess of the place

The police found a cell phone in her hand
The stranger left a bible on the table
The husband’s cell phone was on the front seat of his car
Displaying 1 voice message on the label

“Hi Honey, I know it’s a month early but … Happy Anniversary. I got us a terrific little room at this quaint motel down in Seaside and found a nice young preacher who said he would perform a service to reaffirm our vows. When you get this message, come down and join me. See you soon … Love you.”

The Illusions of Love

Love is blind
And I have no sight
Like an aimless shooter
I nosedived into perdition

They warned me sheepishly
But I succumbed to the sight
Which I in-depth-ly lacked
I was warned of your lot
But like a lost dog I heed not

In my non sight
A goddess with revered beauty
Sprung past me with values
Of outward qualities alone

Her beauty is like the calm
In the stormy voyage of titanic
The beauty of the rose
That lay by the cedars of Lebanon
Cannot sweep off her charm
Spell bound I divulged my deepest thoughts
She stared at me in awe in jaw dropping form
I purred after her like an unrepentant sinner
Until she gave in to my demands
We tied the nuptial knot
She has been granting pleasures like a genie

365days succeeded the union
I decided to take her out
To reaffirm our loves growth
That is like an old wine

I kept gulping battalions of drink
She kept eating like an hungry lion
Set out to devour me
I asked her to drink
She kept mute with a wry smile

I took little food
Because my stomach was filled
With rivers of drink
Until he told me she has confession
I wandered what it could be

Until he said I can never get pregnant
A shake of immeasurable measure
He said she is a transgender
I am indeed a blind lover

Words To My Son

Time is of the essence
In the time we have to share
Tomorrow's not a given
Yesterday's no longer here

So live life to the fullest
Love and laugh and sing
Stop dreaming of your wishes
And live out every dream

Forget about your heartaches
Take your losses all in stride
Go beyond what you thought possible
Let passion be your guide

Look back and always reaffirm
Commitments that you've made
Be a person of your word
Give thanks for each new day

Don't compromise your principles
Sit to the Lords right hand
Be kind, caring and compassionate
To your fellow man

Leave each place that you go
Better than you came
Know that friends and family
Are worth more than is fame

Give to those you see in need
With silver and or gold
And if money's not what they need most
Just be a hand to hold

Don't live beyond the means you have
Save up for rainy days
When you find your one true love
Don't let them get away

Admit when you are wrong
And be humble when you're right
Make sure to say I Love You
Before your head lays down each night

Don't put off till tomorrow
What you can do today
Cause time on earth passes fast
You'll soon be old and gray

Listen to your elders
And learn from what they say
Cherish every moment shared
Give thanks for memories made

Be not bitter when those you love
Are called to head on home
Give thanks for all the time you had
Be glad that it was known

Be sure to keep your head held high
Work hard in all you do
Remember of these words I wrote
And know that I Loved You!

A New Day

The sun rises above the horizon
As our love blossoms bright.
A new day to reaffirm the union
Of two people God put together
To care for each others needs.
Our soul all a glow as we begin
A new day full of love for one another.

What Is Valentine's Day

Here we come to a day
That Cupid makes us love
But what is this day
Suppose to be about?

Is it showering someone
That you have loved
With chocalates so fine
Or a roses so sweet?

Is it buying her things so fine
That they outshine the sun.
Just for glit and glammer
For her friends look in awe.

To me it is to show
Someone you love
How special they are.
With love and care
Expressing with words
And works for them
All the joy they brought you.
Its to reaffirm or love
For each other as one.

Don'T Underestimate Me

Sometimes I have to reaffirm that I am both a masterpiece and a work in progress.
I am in charge of soothing myself when no one else will.
I am in charge of holding it together even when those I thought had my back do not in the long run care anymore (if they ever did).
I am a force to be reckoned with; a bright and shining star.
I have the right to be confident, poised, self-assured and even intimidating even if some of those in my life try to repress me or tell me I'm not worthy of those feelings.
I'm tired of being insecure and put in my place.
I am the queen of all that I survey and if you are planning to take me out,
You may succeed but the battlefield will be bloody in the end.

Premium Member Beware of Fake God Men

Bliss currents as not yet imbued,
the wayward wait to be rescued,
whilst if they choose to come undone,
their soul's light with God becomes one.

The practice then, is simply this:
know that we are love, light and bliss.
Illusionary is ego;
fears and desires, we best let go.

Let's not give our power away,
for no fake guru can allay
fears in our mind, bringing duress,
which we need to ourselves address.

Reaffirm time and again,
unblemished soul is free from stain
and that we’re not this body-mind;
we're living light, thoughtful and kind.

Sociopath's Sonnet

You fool, you wretch, you broken thing
you didn’t guard your heart.
Careful thrust I ply my art
and reaffirm I’m King.

It doesn’t matter how I win
only that I trap my prey
hid within my shades of grey
hoping you will let me in.

You think a wolf can love a sheep
among a herd of fools?
I share this solemn mantra:
A heart is like a keep,
your mind: a guard of tools,
and knowledge is it’s kata.

Roadmap To Love

For many months
and many days
I’ve been waiting,
	been watching
until the time
when you’ll share
	all of yourself
	with me.

I try to remain calm
	to retain composure
while sitting, standing or lying
	next to you,
but it gets harder
rather than easier –
	each hour,
	each minute.

And I past the time away
by roaming over the safely accessible
parts of your body,
hoping to rebuild your confidence,
		to reaffirm that you’re
		wanted and desirable,
and at the same time
I’m making a roadmap
so I’ll know where to love you
		and how to get there.

Of course, no roadmap shows everything
for there are always places
untraveled and unmarked
needing to be explored
by some bold adventurer.

My roadmap to love
will never be completed
because even after I journey
	through and into
your most hidden areas,
there will still be more curves
just ahead
	over the next thigh,
	after your next sigh
around the other shoulder
atop the fullness of your belly.

I never plan to finish this map of you
as I know some secrets will always remain,
but with your love and caring for fuel,
	my journey with you
and my love for you
shall continue undaunted.
