Moonlight Promises
In a garden tended by love and care,
beautiful scented roses bloomed as
they grew,
Under a heart-shaped trellis, two young,
sad-faced lovers sat on a bench arguing
about a moment of regret,
With trembling lips, each pleads for
understanding, to forgive and to forget,
Neither noticed how a gush of wind
scattered the rose petals, showering
them with it as it blew.
Under the glow of moonlight, promises
of sincerity they pledged,
Giving clarity to lingering shadows of
doubt still making them feel on edge,
A tender embrace and whispered words
of love reassure, mending trust and
professing loyalty,
These moments, in memory, reaffirm
commitment and give feelings of
assurity.
Hand in hand, they walked feeling proud
that their actions to resolve their issues
showed maturity,
Living in a world of disposables, both
knew they must learn how to bend
like the trees when facing the storms
of life’s realities.
