Praising the Prince of Peace

The skies sing sweet songs
The soil spread into the seas
The seas swing slowly, swiftly
…Praising the Prince of peace

The flowers fall flat and fly
The sparrows sing solemn solos
The sea animals swim in splendor
…Praising the prince of peace

The sun and stars… speaks
The air and atmosphere in alliance
Wheat and water worships at will
...Praising the prince of peace

Tall and tender trees tremble
Winds and wings… wonder
Woods and waves… whisper
…Praising the prince of peace

Beings with blood and breathe
Spirits with soul and sights
Learn of this little, lovely lilies
…praising the prince of peace

Praising the Prince

He would appear each day, handsome and tall,
She gazed at him, he was very tall and muscular.

He had very strong shoulders and wore a beautiful shirt and slack,
She was enamored by him, this hadn't happened in a long while.

She knew that the day they met they might have fallen in love
And became friends, God's miracles appear when you least expect that.

She dreamed of sharing a cottage with him by the sea,
Where they could be together and live happily.

Dreams come true sometimes. she never did tell him how she felt,
I think somehow he knew, he was very smart.

Whenever he appeared she would love to hug him sometimes,
They existed as friends patient and kind.

She would gaze across the room and think how blessed,
She is to have this handsome gentleman in her life.

Thankful to God for the many blessings bestowed upon us,
May the blessings continue with God's permission.

Premium Member Praising God

Even I like to be praised
By the kind word or the gentle thoughts
Even I like the feeling of joy
Brought by a kindness, a sincere admiring
Even I like the approval of another
Who hears what I say and cares enough to pray
For me, the mere child of a living King

Thus, I know – when I say
God is worthy of our praise – the King of Kings,
The forever light, the maker of all that is,
The inspiration and the giver of dreams,
The peace that comes to those who believe,
The miracle of life – inside the heart who is right
I know, I believe, I can see that He is worthy
Of all the praise I can impart, all the worship I can give…

He is hope – He is faith – He is love and He is grace
He is the reason that I can say, life has meaning
And life is inspired by the joy that I feel on the inside
Because He is alive and He silences all the fears,
Wipes away the lingering tears and promises me years
Filled with love beyond what I might think of,
Love that is alive and love that will abide throughout
All time – this is a love that survives because of Him,
The giver of life, the meaning of life, the reason for life

He is the answer to my every prayer
He stills the seas of worry and doubt
He is the kindness in everything I share
He promises His wonders are beyond compare
He is the way to change the darkest night
He removes the shadows and restores the hope
He is the One I will always believe – He is mine
He is the reason that my soul fears and…
He is the reason that I can overcome every fear
He is the love that lives in my heart
And He is the life that restores me when I hurt
He is forever, written by the stars…
And He is the beautiful that shines from the heart
He is everything that I will ever need
He brings me joy and He brings me peace
Forever and ever… I’ll always believe – thanks to Him
I can go into eternity with the hope of life
That is forever, always – praising this King,
Who reigns in everlasting peace – Thanks to Him
I’m blessed beyond what I can even praise – but still
I’ll praise Him with everything my heart can express…
I’ll praise Him beyond the heart He has blessed!

Premium Member Praising Him

I sing Him praises throughout the day,
Gentle admiration for what He might say…
If He knows the depths of my heart and soul,
His loving praises from me seem to flow.

Words of joy spring from my inner voice,
Short, sweet tributes to Him who is my choice …
In hopes that He will always know of my love,
Which I am certain springs from up above.

Signs that I chose to give of myself freely,
My absolute best is what I give ideally…
With a pure, honest faith that He will always embrace,
I am so very thankful for His eternal grace.

Despite all my worst deeds, He continues to provide,
Reassurance that I’m blessed so long as in Him I do abide…
Always discerning the best that He grants to my soul,
Reflections of the cross forever in control.

Alive, like His word, my worship of Him delights,
Taking my heart and soul to wondrous heights…
Fulfilling my greatest needs to show Him my feeling,
The hope, joy and peace that come from kneeling.

Believing in Him so deeply that I praise Him unceasingly,
Helps me to get through each of my days pleasingly…
Discovering endless promises written down by His pen,
Celebrated freely by those long ago wise men.

It is with thanksgiving I come unto him on my knees,
Whispering my prayers that I so hope do please…
Giving back whatever I can with all that I have inside,
From the depths of my spirit where he does reside.

PRAISING GOD IN SONG

Whenever we sing "Amazing Grace"
Or sing of "The Old Rugged Cross"
And "Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus"
"I Am Thine, O Lord", I am no longer lost

"I Love To Tell The Story"
"Leaning On The Everlasting Arms"
"To God Be The Glory" and
"Standing On The Promises" I feel no alarm

"When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder"
And "When We All Get To Heaven"
"We'll Nevermore Have To Wonder"
Because on earth we were forgiven

"A Mighty Fortress Is Our God"
"His Grace Is Greater Than All Our Sins"
It'll be "Shoutin' Time" in Heaven
Where Joy Shall Never End

"Christ The Lord Is Risen Today"
"Are you Washed In The Blood"
"Softly And Tenderly, Jesus Is Calling"
"Blessed Be The Name Of The Lord"

Praising God In the Midst of Fire

Author Dana Redricks
November 14, 2019

Trusting God in the midst of the
fire is a challenge we all face.
Especially when it seems you been
through fire for a long time, is all have
you've known. I have come to realize
that although my life has not been
always easy, God has brought me
this far I know he will continue to
bring me through. Just like God
delivered the three Hebrew boys
through the fire, I know God will
continue to deliver me. Although my
challenges have been many, but
greater is he that in me
than he that is in the world. Praise
God through whatever we face in this
life.

On Praising Ladies on their Qualities in the THIRUK-KURAL: Canto 112, Nalam Punainthu Uraiththal, K1114 and K1120

[Please see "introduction on the plight of young girls" in the previous post on this Canto 112: K1111 and K1113, and please note that they were (and are still from all accounts though less frequently) given in marriage by parents who pay DOWRY in the form of cash and property to the bridegroom, despite the fact that the law frowns on such practices since Independence.]

K1114: kaanin kuvalai kavilnthu nilan nOkkum
               maanilai kanovvEm enru

The lotus*, seeing her, with head demiss, the ground would eye,
And say: ' With eyes of her, rich gems who wears, we cannot vie.' (Transl. G.U. Pope)
If the blue lotus* could see, it would stoop and look at the ground saying, 'I can never resemble the eyes of this excellent jewelled one.' (Transl Drew & Lazarus)

Should the water-lily* be confronted by the resplendent gem-decked maiden, it would droop down, eyes downcast, thinking the comparison futile. (Transl. T. Wignesan)

K1120: anichcham* annaththin thuuviyam* maathar
             adikku neruñchip* palam

The flower of the sensitive plant, and the down of the swan's white breast,
As the thorn are harsh, by the delicate feet of this maiden pressed. (Transl. G.U. Pope)
The anichcham and the feathers of the swan are to the feet of females, like the fruit of the (thorny) Nerunji*. (Transl. Drew & Lazarus)

(Such the beauteous form of the maiden) that even the anichcham* and the swan's downy fur* are but caltrope thistle* thorns pressed on her feet. (Transl. T. Wignesan)
[* Here the use of imagery drawn from nature (flower, bird, plant, fruit), supposed to be ethereally delicate evoke poetic effusion (to the Tamils of yore), offset by their relegation to thorns by comparison to the maiden's feet.] T. Wignesan

Premium Member Praising Kali--Mythology

Incense burning to unravel third eye
Within shaman’s kohl flame, there lies the key
My life embossed in a mystical sky -
Oh dear goddess Kali, come twirl with me.

Within shaman’s kohl flame, there lies the key
Pathways to light grow dark, spill rubies near
Oh dear goddess Kali, come twirl with me,
Let vines of starlight cross this world sincere.

Pathways to light grow dark, spill rubies near
Slaying phantoms of scorn in haunted caves,
Let vines of starlight cross a world sincere
That birthing of lotus seed warms the waves.

Slaying phantoms of scorn in haunted caves
Come, rise upward to hearten all as one;
That birthing of lotus seed warms the waves
Illumine eyes of dawn, from Kali’s sun.

Arms curling up to hearten all as one
My essence kindles the fired coals to glow,
Illumine eyes of dawn, from Kali’s sun
Where vows of eternity you bestow.

Premium Member Praising Him All the Way

I am praising God today
Glorifying Him in a mighty way
My faith in Him will not sway
Praising Him each day all the way

My faith in God is my solid anchor
I shall not be moved even by a clanking tanker
Wearing His armor day to day
Praising Him each day all the way

On His rock I shall forever stand
Shining His light throughout the land
My faith in Him is mighty strong
Praising Him each day all the way

Life Without Praising

'What is special in this world?
I'm tired of it!'
 I often say within
'Beautiful and full of merriment'
I never realized.

I got a phone call from a friend
to meet
 at club, zealous
to have the zest of the day
I dashed in as object
being controlling by air, to change my cloth

Heaven sent, the heavens opened
I sat upon a settee, waiting for the rain to stop

Sea rise a mountain, flood waters ubiquitous
Floor is swallowing houses
it has heist many properties
Like-wise peoples have wounded,
Stream dripped down my cheek
A traumatic experience this is!,
My heart thudded, nearly separated from chest
I screamed loudly

'Ha! It is a dream,' I was on the settee
Waiting for rain to cut off
Ho! Life without praising the lord is an empty life

a cool evening moon glows
    she peers with sudden intent
the stars glisten as the wind blows
the clouds flew swiftly as they went

her mind strains with blissful wonder
the moment so fleeting yet cherished
trees bent over as she looked under
                        oh, that moon wistfully vanished

	          smiling she pondered the gift
her heart rejoiced as he spoke
her soothed mind gave her a lift
her love so strong in her awoke

       ah, romance dwells sweet
   our spirits are uplifted
praising each other we repeat
how blessed we are and gifted

said he “you’re beautiful and fair”
          smiling she received his praise
his love for her transcended there
she hugged him after a gaze

their walk continued near the beach
the sun reflected on the water
a precious moment they did reach
as their love welled warm and softer

day after day they walked along
         sharing their hearts’ desire
     mending wounds in silent song
eternal union to inspire
