“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.”
Matthew 7:6

So hard it can be
to take that upward trek
leading from the depths
of resentment’s abyss
where the stench of offensivenss
surrounding you
begins to gag you.

You can sputter and choke on
your horrible displeasure
(a few times in my life I've allowed this to occur)
but how good it felt to rise up
from the pit
where my own shiny pearls
had been hurled back at me
so cruelly.

I knew . . .
        I knew very well
my pearls were never meant
for swine.

I say to all who feel that pain
of utterances most profane,
let them not echo in your ears.
Let not others' evil deeds
bring you to their level.
Take that road
that leads you up out of the abyss.
Tread steadfastly
and never look back
until their oaths against you
fade
         into
                    nothingness.

Bubbles of Babble

BUBBLES OF BABBLE

A father sees his small children babbling and
Blowing insignificant bubbles in the wind.
One child's lips blow a lot; another blows only very few.
Yet these few are precious to the father.
The multitudes which peel effortlessly
Off the soap-frame in the hands of another child
Mean little individually - shining spherical pearls before swine,
Blowing randomly in the wind.

And prayers, too, fall sometimes too easily from the holy lips
Of people kneeling in groups each day: and each babbling
Repeated mantra or Hail Mary has individually little significance:
And God is showered with bubbles of babble of all sizes and colours,
Some in clusters inside one another, with bits of extra soap dripping off
Carelessly-formed sloppy glassy balls.
Some of them expire before even reaching his throne,
So little effort was put into them,
So little intention of ever following their path upward.

But a lone figure lost, abandoned, in some black
Perilous sea of troubles who, pitched headlong into a moment
Of last helpless desperation, screams at the top of his soul
To his God, and at that moment is certain
That only the Almighty can right his troubled boat,
That he has exhausted all his own puny powers,
And recognizes the insignificance of his babble -
Such a prayer is a precious gem, perfectly-formed and rising,
Fast-track, directly thronewards, as it should.. . . . .
A pearl of great price.

This saying is simply divine
“You shouldn’t cast pearls before swine”
Some think they are cool
Then break ev’ry rule
Folk cheating are no friends of mine!

'Porkie Pies' is cockney rhyming slang for lies

Pain As a Hobby Iv

You went off the screen
Never to be seen
Can’t find you on google
You don’t even tweet
Like Tweet
I feel like smoking cigarettes
No, I’d rather scream
But who will hear me
Because it makes a sound in the inside
As it breaks to pieces.
As it goes up in flames
Only ashes remains.
Just when you thought I was finished
This is not poetry this is a handbook
Pain as a hobby continues
An artist, like myself and others
I’m sensitive about my s***
Deadlier than the bombs that went over Hiroshima
I’ll cover the door enough so you don’t get hurt by the toxic fumes
When I’m done my name will be synonymous with Picasso
Hum, what I’m I serving up today?
This is God’s gifting
I hope I’m not using it wrong
I just lay it on you and serve it cold
You can heat it up and don’t forget to eat the bones
It’s like throwing pearls before swine
Jesus you inspire me with your words so much
I’m adopting them as "my precious"
I hope to make you proud of me
I’m your advocate
Tavarus M. Moreland read the credit line
My word play and intelligence quotient have an unlimited shopping spree
I don’t need the Black Card I have Ken Chenault on speed dial
My words are prophectic
The power of life and death reside in the words
Who is that? Who is he?
I’m the one that is refreshing your memory
The one you almost forgot about
You bloggers are about as deep as puddles in the streets
I’m trafficking on you
Avoiding you at all costs because I can see right through you
Not even good enough to step on
Put a clap on
Do you ever read that crap before you type it out on the keyboard, put your fingers up
I’m handcuffing your fingertips.
I'm charging you with reckless keyboard endangerment!

Anticipation

I have a capacity for love

that stretches every time he makes me

a dust-mote in the iridescent

ocean of eye-light.

I’m suspended in time and in

place, yet I swell.

I know I could grow forever,

glittering like amethysts and pearls before swine

until I puncture the universe

and leak out in increments

through the stratosphere.

He makes me stop breathing

and still go on

-heedless, regardless, relentless-

I could suck the stars dry,

but until my lips touch his

I’m only this:

The air you hold in your lungs too long

before your first time flying.

Don'T

DOn't bite the hand that feeds you
Don't burn your bridge behind you
Don't cast your pearls before swine
Don't change horses in midstream
Don't count your chickens before they are hatched.
Don't cross the bridge till you to it
Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.
Don't keep a dog and bite your self
Don't let the bastards grind you down
Don't look a gift horse in the mouth
Don't wash your dirty linen in public
Familiarity breeds comptempt
Feed a cold and starve a fever.
Don't upset the apple cart.
Don"t try to walk before you crawl
Don"t teach grandma to suck eggs
Don't throw the baby out with the birth water.
Don't spoil the ship for a ha'porth of tar
Don't rock the boat
Don't put the cart before the horse
Don't meet troubles half way.
Don't put new wine into an old bottle
There are more ways of killing a cat than choking it with cream
There are none so deaf as those that would not hear.

Pearls

Unwise TO CAST PEARLS BEFORE SWINE. ONE'S LABOR IS PERFECT WASTE.
Don't cast your pearls of wisdom onto barren land.
Where minds don't want to know, or even understand.
Withhold wasting wise words, which would wilfully wither.

Faith Without Works

Civil whoring: such architectural engineers of governmental grant of freedom.

Yea to bruise themselves,
lo, the magistrates
by way of horse-like member,
oh pearls before swine.

Wanting freedom of association
--although prohibited --
she will meet the quota.

Godly engineered to preserve
cultural integrity:
she will find freedom
its demise.

Drinking intoxicating semen
in a coat of many colors
there she takes her meal
fooling the blind.

Thinking temptation could never find her.

All Is Well

I drink and it didn't seem to take away the pain
I give my heart away it always ends up being ill treated all is well
If I cast my pearls before swine they will still be getting trampled still
I do with my hands what others can't I'm all heart no talent no skill
I'm like a bird falling from its limb
I can't feel the bitter cold wind or feel sorry for myself
There's swords over my head, I'm numb to the pain,
That means I can't feel fear
Just like they sneak through Windows and kill children
Like we're felling more pain than Americans ever filled still

Take a Gun

Take a gun, give it to me
And just teach to pull the trigger.
My chimeras will be free
And my life will be a fee
For their happiness and freedom.

Give me arms and get away!
I won`t fail to hit my target.
Am I Hatter or White Rabbit?
It`ll be a banner day.

Bang! The kiss is quick and hot.
Feeling steel lips of the bullet…
And my heart is slowly cooling.
Don`t you think it`s a good shot?

Should I ask for their mercy?
Must I cast my pearls before swine
Just in order to feel cozy?
No, I`m quarrelsome and noisy.
I am greedy. The pearls are mine.

Bang! It`s all the same for me now
Who will read and write my nonsense.
Why can`t I once make a great row?
Let me speak aloud. You know how
Much I wish it… Just read my poems.

(*rain drops
syllable-based; 5-3-5.)

rain weaves north current
clouds knot up
patterns burst their seams

(*The Gulf Stream - Land has a lower heat capacity than oceans, and it also heats and cools faster than oceans. During the winter, the land is much colder than the oceans. When the westerly winds blow over it, the air cools substantially.)

Pearls Before Swine

home is where the heart is
      I spewed forth my guts
laid open the treasure chest
and offered up the crown jewels
while the swine cast
     their dung in the entrails

Drove past your old house, slowin' just because..
perhaps just to return to scene of the crime.
Kinda sad to find nothing left as once was,
proof your lapdog better comfort than I.

Came to settle all old grievances,
finish what once so well begun, though breaking.
My mistake in guess, you shined in happiness,
and the whole world was yours for the taking.

I know feet weren't meant to trample a heart,
and finer hands never meant my soul undone.
Maybe there's hope for us, a chance at new start,
can't hold my breath waitin' that day will come.

I touched your citrus seed, tasted tender skin.,
though forgot to quench thirst from sweet juice within.

Young Ladies You Are Princesses

Young ladies don’t cast your pearls before swine,
For their motives have many warning signs,
Cherish your beauty in everyway,
My darling sisters think twice before your so quick to lay,
Don’t become another statistic,
Remember your body is purely artistic,
Don’t sell your soul to a ravenous fool,
This is not just a promise, it is a lifelong tool,
Young princess, that’s who you really are,
Spare yourselves the unnecessary scars,
For out of the heart comes lies and deceit,
While you’re looking for love,
They are looking for fresh flesh to eat,
My angels, guard your treasure above all,
For at any moment you may slip up and fall,
Charm is deceptive and kisses from an enemy come with a price,
Don’t allow a void inside to become a blinded vice,
My darlings, saver your purity and youth,
Someday the right one will come to you with respect and truth,
Just be patient, and love yourself first,
Look above if you question your worth,
For a rose so beautiful and rare,
Has no idea what heaven has prepared.

Fake

Throw down your pearls before swine
Midst mud that looks like sweet red wine
Then watch them build lies like picket lines
And leave you on the losing side

Take the blows in step and stride
With cloaks and daggers not far behind
Pick up the place to outrun the swine
You’ll find out who they are in time

Plastic hearts and painted smiles
Melting, leaving puddle signs
That point toward friends who live between lines
Guess I should leave them all behind
