Great example of America haiku (Kelly Lune), and it's matching Lune. I seem to favour the word-based Lune for my own compositions.

You are doing a sterling job, William. It is my opinion that a contest should honour the form (whatever is being highlighted) as visitors to this site should feel confident that the winning examples are a true reflection of a particular poetic form. Lune allows for rhymes and it is ideal for those poets who like to include rhymes in their haiku (where it is frowned upon). Well, creativity can be stifled by too much technical adherence, so write on ...!

Suzette, hoping I got my updates right, it was some years ago of researching Lune. Thanks for your noting my morning breakfast jello. Quasi-methinks, I'll have jello all day long, Aloha!

The second Lune form (3-5-3) is quite similar to a normal haiku in which the middle line is usually longer than the other two. Of course, in this case we are tied by word count. Regards // paul

Numerically purposed brevity equally, whereto, it’ll not appear lopsided. Versions reasonably made, short-long and long-short, ergo, non-interchangeable. My thanks, Paul, for your shared highlights of interest my friend, Aloha!

Krish, actually, the theme is about 'drops', via raindrops and pearls being dropped [metaphor: snow white balls melt] ("...cast ye your pearls..."). The theme is yours but some commonality that connects both versions. I hope that you do just that my friend, Aloha!

Hi Andrea, as you now see, I've added text, whereto, necessitates imagery of the intended. Note, that only Lunes title and respective haikus, need only be posted my friend, Aloha!

I think my favorite is the middle one, but that one-liner was sure a wonderful image, William!

Oh, lol, that was the title of the two (now made it bold), first rain drops, second pearl drops, whereto, both described the "Lune", an American Haiku, oppose to its English version, via syllable-based and word-based, thanks for sharing Andrea, Aloha!
