You came when I needed an etheric friend,
though I never knew you in life.

An angelic guardian I see in dreams.
You died just before I was born yet,
it feels like we've spent a lifetime together.

Protectorate, eternal spirit, arriving when needed;
an infinite connection.

Cartoonist that you are;
in childhood, I knew you as a giant panda bear,
my invisible playmate after grandma died.

You understood just what my
child-mind needed to heal.

Others only labeled me a,
“weird child”.
You inspired me and gave me hope.

To you I attribute my imagination and creativity;
from you I inherited my love of the arts.

Now, astral visits give birth to fresh ideas.
Being an adult should never be boring,
grownup or set stagnant.

If “faith is believing”, then I am rich.
I believe in spirit and soul.

Yes, you came when I needed a friend
and now I believe I can truly be me;
without the condemnation and judgments of others.

You came and you gave me…
back to me.

The Ninth Wonder of the World Is In Your Eyes

Candle, candle burning bright,
Blow it out, without you there is no sight.
The Moon,Moon glowing white
I see it in your face pure bright as skylight
I am a witness of this amazing thing

The smile in your eyes is....the look of Love
Little angel, oh rare piece of art
Sweet love, gentle soul you've stolen my heart
your love cuts through my heart like a dart
Treasure inside me, i will forever hold

Such pleasure it is to gaze upon you
Tenderness in your eyes..the look of love
This love makes the heart wants to sing
About the beauty of life with you in it
My diamond in landmine, sweet love

Your brown eyes ignites my desires
I desire you as the desert desires the rain
Your voice echos in my heart, my favorite melody
A loving voice that melts the winters chill
Your love takes me away to places yet unknown

At the end of the day, when i close my brown eyes
Your love entices my spirit to take flight on shimmering wings
Dancing through the skies, celebrating our love,
`Oh I love you like a panda bear loves bamboo`
Forever growing, never ending.

Premium Member Plight of the Pandas

The panda bear is cute but also shy.
So have you ever stopped to wonder why?

It goes back to that time in history
when all God’s creatures sailed upon the sea!

Old Noah built an Ark, which two by two
each kind of animal was led into.

A pair of pandas got put in the middle
of that boat! But pandas are not little!

The pandas, since they could not move about,
would sometimes bump into some creature’s snout.

Poor Mrs. Panda had no privacy
and felt too flustered when she had to pee!

Poor Mr. Panda, lost his wife’s affection,
and sadly afterwards, lost his ********.

The pandas, once they got off of the Ark,
were somehow able to regain their spark.

They ended up in China, learning to
“get it on again” and eat bamboo!

But now they face extinction once again,
thanks this time to crimes of modern men.

Everything is now against the norm.
Forced together, pandas can’t perform.

Such failure, like it was in Noah’s day,
must just be part of Panda’s DNA.

Let’s hope that we’ll be hearing very soon
the pandas being told to ‘get a room!”

This was originally meant for some Noah's Ark contest
that never got judged. So here it is now for YOU, PD!!

The True Immortal

White grains for brains
His thoughts are anointed seed
Spirits germinate where gladiators once fell
And mere mortals can taste a drop of eternity
Occasionally, like rice
They give rise to empires

He sighs warm breezes
Of ever green forests and blue lagoons
When he sneezes entire ages freeze over
He winks across the galaxy
And we observe a Supernova
He smiles avalanches and blizzards
And laughs a symphony orchestra

He yawns a new dawn
With each stretch of his hand
Releasing the imagination to humility
To see himself as one truly is
Through the honest lens of the soul
And not through the deception of the blinking eye
He breaths through the filter of a lifetime
His heart rate pumping at a thousand eras per aeon

His vision is a continuum
A pessimist by nature
Fatalistic even, he never shed a tear
Except occasionally for the panda bear
He dug a basement in his home
With his brooding, pacing up and down
Where he now stores fossils of past civilizations
Amongst his most valuable collections

Premium Member Andie Pandie Speaks

(As a child I was nicknamed Andie Pandie for the panda bear that I liked so much, one reason why I chose to do my ode for this animal. Also I was born in September, just like most pandas, and am a bit big boned too!)

September is my birth month and so it is because
my kind has some restrictiveness to its breeding laws!
For reasons unbeknownst to me, there only is one way
for us to meet, and so we only mate from March to May.
Our mothers carry us for just several months and then
in August or September we arrive inside our den.

So small and hairless at my birth, I’d make you smile, “Awww.”
My mama cradled me inside the palm of just one paw!
In two months I could see, and then I quickly learned to walk.
I ate bamboo at just eight months, and here is how I talk:
I chirp, or like a kid, I bleat; I croak, squeak, honk or growl.
And if I roar, it’s like a “huff;” for sure, I do not howl!

My mama nursed me eighteen months, then sent me on my way.
In one of China’s twelve preserves I can be found today.
The bamboo that we love grows in a patch and when it’s done,
We need to then uproot ourselves and find another one.
As people build more farms and cities, we then lose our space.
We need you humans’ help so we can move from place to place.

For Yangtze Basin to conserve bio diversity,
this economic central region has to include me!
I’m China’s treasure and the world’s! Who doesn’t know my name?
For fifty years my picture gave World Wildlife Fund its fame.
So help this big boned animal who rarely touches meat.
I’m just a Kung-fu giant “bear cat,” black and white and sweet!

Friend and Pier

Klain oh what a pain
Klain you drive me insane
without you its like im in eternal rain
what a conundrum i just can't explain
You can be so enigmatic
and ing charismatic
you with you're beautiful blond hair
flannels with a slight flare
To be honest i think we make a great pair
my day without you is a nightmare
your so cute you remind me of a panda bear
but i must confess
if you weren't here i would be faithless
but because your not absent
it's made abundant your smile and you cheers
what a great friend and pier.

Premium Member Horizons

Panda Bear adorns horizon
For one brief minute
Then Great Blue Heron came on
Suddenly a rabbit

Mom would say wild imagination
Only in cobalt blue
I really saw all these captions
Now they're gone it is true

The golden sun dominates scene
Those animals seem but dream
Life is here now warming up alive
Mist rises from creek jive

Black and white like a panda bear,
but so much softer is your hair.
Every day you smile at me,
your toothy grin a blessing.

I throw the stick,
the ball,
the toy,
you run and jump
with happy joy.
You make me laugh,
and sing.

Always coming at my call,
even when I am the one,
to fall.
You never scold me,
if I am bad,
instead you take away,
my sad.

You are a dog,
a wonderful gift.
And God knew I needed...
a miracle.

Note to the many enemies of democracy:
No need to force upon us uranium enemas
just billow a tiny bug into the neon lungs
of our bumbling- deeply divided cities..
Sit back and have a few Molotov cocktail giggles
and some giant panda bear laughs,
as we brawl over soap and toilet paper
curse god under our sparkly covid masks-

No need for mall slashings or pressure cooker bombs
Just plant a few wolves dressed as lip stick lambs
Have them silence opposing opinions with racism chants-
Watch the media spotlight a mad dog shooter and a rogue cop
to them democracy is a demon and only worthy to rot-

No need for new age Luftwaffe or Stalinist migs
to brain spray our safe spacing- I pod junkie kids.
Just fill institutions with naive freebie magicians
intolerant-contrarian-purple headed-anti Christians.
Watch them brand capitalist pig deep into the skin
of the hard-working WOMAN AND MAN...
as the elitist beamer their way to their fine gated homes

No need to invade us with a billion red atheist,
just buy a cheap blowhorn armed with
"Separation of church and state".
lord doesn't Satan love a red loyalist hater...
it's so easy cleaving god from the courts and schools
to hobble our freedom of religion and good faith..

One final note to enemies of democracy:
Lady Liberty may be battered and cornered
but in an instant can switch from beckon to blowtorch
and the eagle is bloodied but still has its teeth
WE THE PEOPLE have always rallied together
to serve up a beat down to all of the beasts-

Premium Member My Kryptonite

Shyness, more than usual, had been my core kryptonite!
Innocent me! Like a panda bear, in my boyhood! Bright!
Girlish, the grown-ups crowned me! An inauspicious floret!
Praying: May boldness breathes in me by the Holy Spirit!!

Youthfulness, like a peacock, expressed blissful boyishness!
Cherished, as in a colorful garden, in joyousness!
There entered, as though foul eagles, the puritan grown-ups!
Blowing up every flaw of mine in colorful close-ups!!

Then, the kryptonite of my unwillingness to marry!
As I felt, I need not have heavy burdens to carry!
There crept in, the vultures, questioning my male potency!
Laughed! Abandoned me at the hands of divine destiny!!

A fallacy, like an unknown big bug, entered my brain!
Or a mess, hell-like, hidden by grown-ups, for greater gain!
Link of truth, broken betwixt my, fantasies and person!
Or elements, like messy knots, leading me to treason...!!

All these kryptonite, were not like black kraits, life-consuming!
But something unknown went within me was very glooming!
Though the meaning of life, like permanent flowers, blooming!
Dejections... despairs..., day after day, dignity dooming!!

Heavy drinking, nay, my drunkenness, lo, held its head high!
Like a fallen man’s land-hit-head, looking up to the sky!
Friends, angels of greed, no gain from me, left far from my sight!
Alcoholism, though an excuse, became my kryptonite!

Desert Flower

Wake up - wake up sleepy Panda Bear
The day wants to smile with you
A lone flower alone far
Dry cracked sand in your view

Is paradise a mirage
A Lemonade fantasy
Everyday craziness
Messing with your sanity

You are the only you
Singing a different song
Not like some others
Playing Cheech and Chong

A Lavender Desert Flower
Blooming day and night
We all have a shadow
Because we stand in the light

Premium Member She Kept Guessing Until She Got It Right

As a cartoonist, I can play a bit with my students.
I like drawing a bit at a time, letting them guess.
The little girl guessed a puppy, kitty, panda bear.
Finally, alligator which was close after I drew scales.
Her last guess was a dragon – a cloud dragon.
I realized then that I had decorated the beast with clouds.
Which I do automatically, not thinking about it usually.

Dandelions

Zoom Zoom went the organ grinder
As the panda bear bore delight
in its urbane mind set
Burning marigolds over wrought
only tell half the story as was
Jupiter jumping
Nostrums for the retraining
A thousand dandelions heads
If they could only scatter mile high
Joking leprechauns come out laughing
in black dustbin liners
by the dug notre jardin
