Red Panda

I’m not like my cousins, I’m gentle you see.
I do all my living and eating from a tree.

I’m cute and I’m soft, but never should you touch.
A stuffed version of me would be loved very much.

A rare breed I am, I am special, they say.
So stop tearing down trees or I’ll go away!

I’m here for you now to gaze in wonder upon.
Know, I might go, due to things man has done.

So enjoy me for now and take pictures of me
As I eat this bamboo while sitting in this tree.

Premium Member A Panda On My Veranda

There’s a panda on my veranda
It’s been there most of the night
I don’t think I would have believed it
But it’s there in black and white

A Panda,Away From Home

Children give me pitying stares, At least I'd at home,
Pointing and screaming, Home,Sweet Home,
Giving my cubs a scare. Home in my forest,
                                                                   Deep in China.
Keepers poke around my space,
Making me uncomfortable, When I'm lost and feeling alone,
In my place. I'd like to think that I was at home,
                                                                   Back In my Home,
Adults think me as a comic pet, In China
Laughing and cheering,
It's like putting me under a net. At least I'd be at home,
                                                                   Home, Sweet Home,
Teenagers think nothing of me, Home in my forest,
The past, the present, the future to come Deep in China.
I'm stuck in captivity,
Why can't they see?

Toddlers look,
As if I'm a wolf,
I'm nothing from a story book.

If I was back in my home,
Back in China,
It would be dream come true.

My brothers and sisters,
Would be waiting for me,
We would play together,
Out in the trees.

I would still live in fear,
From gunners and destruction,
But I would be at home

Be My Panda

The way a little kid glances at a toy
Is the way I look at you.
The boy at a remote control car with the look of joy
The girl at the doll not looking away, eyes on it like glue
They want to scream and shout
Until they have it in their grasp
They look to the left
They look to the right
They think of theft
They want to put up a fight
They see it as beauty.
It is truly.
You are my toy.
Don't let that figure trick you, it's only a speech decoy
You are my panda
Take me by the hand and be the toy I am proud to flaunt
One of a kind you are to me, come and be my taunt
They will not have you, in my arms you'll be
Smile on your face full of grace
Lights up the room with glee
Your laugh leaving behind a trace
Of your presence. Adding so much excitement,
leaving my heart in a race.

The Day the Zebra Met the Panda

"The Day The Zebra Met The Panda"

It was
inevitable,
that one day,
these two would meet!
They shared something
so deep in common,
it was as solid
as concrete!

Said the Zebra
to the Panda,
"Do you wonder
why this way
we are?"
Replied the Panda
to the Zebra,
"Once I too
thought this
"bizarre!"

"Everyone else
is in
technicolor
except....
you and I!
We are simply
colored with
black and white!",
was the Zebra's
reply!

"I used to think
that looking
different
meant there
was something
wrong.
I would look
and see
all this color
around me,
and for color
I did so long!"

"Please tell me this",
asked the Panda,
"How do you see yourself?
Are you
black with white stripes,
or
white with black stripes?....
I've wondered
this about
myself!"

Then came
this reply
from
the Zebra,
with a big smile
on his face,
"To tell you the truth
I don't give it
much thought,
The way I look
I do gladly
embrace!"

"See....
we were made
to look different!
Everyone else
is somewhat
the same!
You and I
are like
no one else!....
That is our
proclaim
and our fame!"

"You know you're right!"
said the Panda!
"I hadn't
thought of it
that way!
I'm glad to have
finally met you
on this
wondrous,
insightful day!"

"So we should
be happy
as to who
we are
and continue
to grow
and to strive!"
They both
chuckled
and said-
"Yeah....
Right On To Us!"
Then they gave
each other
a "High Five!"

The moral to this
is quite simple
and it's
very easy
to see-
the next time
you see
yourself
in the mirror,
smile and say....
"I'm happiest being me!"

Panda Eyes

Staring with your dark panda eyes,
Lips hinting a smile,
The carrot offering,
You beckon me
To play your game of souls.
Will I be redeemed or damned?
I fear death is the promise of those eyes
Camouflaged in an angelic visage.
Like a whore peddling sex
At an anti-disestablishmentarianism convention,
I am ripped from my element.
Wary of the risks,
Searching those secretive panda eyes,
Tentatively, I offer my soul.
Damned or redeemed I play.

Older word challenge poem using the words panda, angelic, anti-disestablishmentarianism. Why else would that word ever show up in a poem. PS~ it was the opposition to the established Church of England

Panda and Combine

Panda and Combine
We both are generally lazy
Until it comes time to work
Then we both eat crops
We both are losing land to live on.

We both start small then eventually grow
While one prefers the west.
While the other prefers the east.

Premium Member Nasty Panda

China charges 1 million annually
For each panda in our zoos
If we won't pay in full
Then the pandas we will lose
Nasty Panda's the exception
No one wants him here or there
He was paid 1 million dollars
To abscond and disappear!

Here comes the Nasty Panda
~He's much more than you can bear
He's such a nasty panda
     ~He leaves cooties everywhere
Beware of Nasty Panda
     ~He do anything he please
Stay clear of Nasty Panda
     ~He eats shoots and leaves

I smelled him 'fore I seen 'em
That black and white pariah
Slippin' slidin' in my kitchen
On smooshy mushy pulp papaya
I yelled for him to stop
And I told him where to go
Wink and laugh was all he did
With a Homer Simpson "D'oh!"

Here comes the Nasty Panda
~He's much more than you can bear
He's such a nasty panda
     ~He leaves cooties everywhere
Beware of Nasty Panda
     ~He do anything he please
Stay clear of Nasty Panda
     ~He eats shoots and leaves

He hasn't bathed in ages
Masked by quarts of cheap cologne
His furry skin sweat-sticky
From the surface to the bone
Smelly cigar and boozy breath
Plus an air of upper-crust
Please keep your kids away
Cuz that nasty bear can cuss!

Here comes the Nasty Panda
~He's much more than you can bear
He's such a nasty panda
     ~He leaves cooties everywhere
Beware of Nasty Panda
     ~He do anything he please
Stay clear of Nasty Panda
     ~He eats shoots and leaves

If you meet up with Nasty Panda
Better turn around and run
You're bound to lose your money
And your wits before he's done
Don't shed tears for Nasty Panda
Cuz he likes the way things are
Don't forget to hide your keys
Else he'll drive off in your car!

Here comes the Nasty Panda
~He's much more than you can bear
He's such a nasty panda
     ~He leaves cooties everywhere
Beware of Nasty Panda
     ~He do anything he please
Stay clear of Nasty Panda
     ~He eats shoots and leaves

Here comes the Nasty Panda
     ~He's a scoundrel and a bum
He's such a nasty panda
~He's as nasty as they come
Beware of Nasty Panda
     ~He's gonna raise a stink
Stay clear of Nasty Panda
~He's much nastier than you think

I want to be the panda protected
nothing to fear the last of my breed
I eat my heart content the bamboo leaves
of the forest preserved for me and my sibling
no agenda gave me a few more years to disappear
and stay a porcelain in your boudoir.

Yellow Panda Bandit

United Colours: Yellow

                                                Yellow Panda Bandit

Caution Beware we have reports that the Infamous Bumble Bee Panda Bandit is near,
He was seen in the light of the pale moon robbing the local Golden Spoon right here.

Believed to be armed and dangerous wielding his two Hornet Guns feeling courageous,
although his spine is yellow scared little fellow, your jaundiced fur is just outrageous!

A Kitten Named Panda

She's black with white spots.
She curls up on my chest when I lay down.
Mews and stretches
just to curl up again.
I love her so much...
She gives me a new sense of joy.
A new reason to continue.
My baby....

Premium Member The Little Red Panda In a Yellow Starred Bandana

*I believe I've awoken the little red panda
donning five yellow stars on a crimson bandana
spreading hectares of jaded Jinping propaganda*

*She lives in a land of dragons and Maoist oppression
I think I'm becoming her latest star-spangled obsession
Sad, she'll probably never breathe sweetened air of the free
or feel warmth from the torch of Staten Island's fairest lady*

*As she tap-taps away on her communist keys.
Careful not to say anything blue about her chairman Xi.
She knows with a slip of the mind -one twitch of the teeth.
She'll be chum to the yellow sharks of the South China Sea...
I hope someday she has the means and courage to flee.
Sing a song for old Hong Kong over sweet cups of green peace*

* If you ever make your way over, don't tote any echo locators.
Unless it's a pod of democracy dolphins-they tend to be voters, not haters.
They'll batter yellow sharks if you drift from the star-spangled breakers.
God bless your journey -I pray that you stay safe and finally make it.

Nickss Panda

NICKS’S PANDA

Nick’s Panda is such a fun car,
it’s so fast with a life of it’s own.
Everyone sees it coz it’s blood red
and you can’t fail to hear it
with the stereo on full.
He’s had it for years
and it has never let him down.
But the time draws near
as he is ready for a change
with a new little Fiat.
Maybe a Cinq or a Punto
in these coming years.
