Premium Member Kaleidoscope Eyes

Round and round I go
Unfolding my spirit of envy and gold
The nascence of a new stone
Hazel room, vibrant lilac sky,
Deep orange haze in a tender place
Arms of sapphire and cornflower blue
Fuchsia beauty drips, covering my ruby lips

All colors drift
On the first day, we met
Visions of dark slate-gray fade away
Firing up the new-age gem
Turning and creating different stars
Magic mint skies
White antique petals follow the current of air
Opal dreams, clouds embedded with impurity
My heartbeat produces flashing colors
The palest amethyst bluebonnet forever fields
Flawless tear-drop streams
Diamond shaped love
Ruby Red promises to keep
Flowing into the deep
Every color spins new
The day I fell in love with you
Peridot lime green tint
A love as old and gray
Olive brownish sun
Honeydew skin
Our future, deeper than aquamarine
Every day you turn fresh new seasons in me
Changing the sequence in my colors and effect

Kaleidoscope Eyes
Reflect by the mirrors of you
Crystallizing everything

Premium Member Love's Lament

She lovingly smiles at him each evening
dressed in palest silk, a gossamer gown,
brushed with hints of silverdust shadows.
Her shapely fullness casts a womanly glow
across his surface in ripples of light.

Enthralled by her shimmering beauty,
he waves to her from Baltic blue depths
of his longing and unspoken passion.
Her reflection swims in his crests and troughs
as he cradles the embodiment of her perfection.

Crested fingers rise to fondle her magnificence
but vast distance keeps them too far apart.
Her heart guides the ebbing and flowing
of his tides in their nightly dance, spent romancing.

Fluidly, he waltzes her in rhythm to the shore,
serenaded by a chorus of flickering stars
singing a tune written eons before
Gershwin could dream of Rhapsody in Blue.

Little more could either of them do as
their song wafted in a dolorous lover's lament
known by humans but perceived by few
as a divergent love between two of Earth's forces
whose liaison would be a tragedy for me and you

Premium Member Spurned Love

She awoke
to a blazing sun,
brightest orb,
day’s lover.
The moon, jealous of her love,
cried for the night’s loss.

She, sleeping,
missed the soft caress,
silken touch,
palest rays
that beckoned her to waken
and taste their sweetness.

Premium Member O Glorious Autumn

O glorious Autumn of melancholic
Gold -
All abouts the brightly lit
Woodlands
Your wonderful artistry behold!
Tinted bronzes,
Darting between awkward firs
Of sobering Evergreen,
Loiter inside mauve havens
Splashed with palest yellows -
And dappled with many differing
Limes
Throughout this variegated Theme;
A myriad of rustling contentment,
Sweetest contrasting charms,
Complimentary...
Softly whispering leafy hues...
Hushed...most elegantly serene.

Bursting into the swelling copses
And invading between the
Dwindling fields:
Auburn, primrose and lilac views -
Abundant with seasons
Celebrations
That so magnificently infuse!
Glowering in simmering sunset,
And spluttering in misty dawn:
Afire with all the orbs oozing
Revelry,
That upon barkened furniture,
To thus gild - and resplendently
Adorn!

Now is the time
That dry tinkling leaves
Give musical resonance
To a breath exhaled from
A breeze...
Fanning the boughs roaring flames
That each out-stretched branch
does eagerly seize,
Fired from the eternal torch
That immortal Ceridwen tirelessly
Sought;
Whilst I hang upon evocative
Memories
That this arresting moment briefly
Caught.

Blazing with a consummate passion
Ignited from a poets grappling
Thoughts:
The Muses to this joyous splendour
Were summarily summoned
And brought;
But as elusive as the enchanting
Notes
From the intoxicating pipes of
Evasive Pan...
So as elusive the words of the
Unwritten verse
That so evade this singular man.

So burn! You gaily painted colours,
Within abandoned restrain,
Your dizzying carousel
A whirling kaleidoscope
Upon an artists ever changing frame.
Soft ochres and dappled browns
Mixed with vivid orange and crimson
Red...
Applied lavishly from the palette
Of Artemis
Over which the vibrant pastes
Are thinly spread.

A riot of pastel shades
All exploding forth -
With the raging power of a
Supernova
Of an immense, dazzling force!
All hail to the almighty:
From the devout to the Divine...
And all hail to the Grandeur
And Majesty -
Of his awe-inspiring design!

Premium Member The Moonlight Ballet

Reeds and rushes by the opaque lagoon,
Flutter and frolic with a graceful ease,
As ducks glide softly by a midnight June,
And nature whirls to a warm summer breeze.

In palest moonlight nightingale now sings,
A rhapsody drifting with the night wind,
And butterflies sleep with pretty closed wings,
As the silent trees toss wildly and bend.

The tranquil world is engaged in dreaming,
And geese sleep while they are yet afloat,
But the lively crickets still are screaming,
And the slender stemmed blooms appear to float!

The silver treasures of this summer night,
Belong only to those awake for the sight.

Nothing Remains

My fingers grasp at the void, empty-handed...
My heart lingers at hollowness, emptied out...
reminiscent when time got wrinkled, worn
when night and day left,
and only nothing remained.

The embers of my burning words
wither into the palest of ashes,
it makes me think of dead skin cells—
they are nothing but dust
sloughed off, then piled up into dusty corners, forgotten.
Minuteness discarded, a lover’s crumbling skeleton.

A noise barrage invades my soul’s silence,
an onslaught of thought and reason—
A wailing, pounding, desert squall that drowns me,
shattering the dam of tranquility.

I plunge back into this abyss of loneliness.
Of course nobody’s there.
They have all been long gone.
And here I am, with only this vast void as my company.
It whispers, it screams
and echoes into my mind,
what they’ve all been saying all along,
that I brought this upon myself.

Maybe I did. Of course I did.
Of course I did. Maybe I did.

Back and forth, back forth it goes...

I seek sanctuary in dreams,
for it is only there that my sea of loneliness
becomes a sea of ecstatic happiness...
I seek sanctuary in dreams,
for it is only there that I am welcome.

Touch me Not! Noli me tangere.
Wake me not...

Silence has blocked your ears.

The shattering of my heart was unperceived,
so I am left alone to take extreme care of these countless shards.
I can’t afford to hurt anymore, as I have done to the others.
With my words. With my long-winding, droning and ever-boring words.
The death-inducing kind of boring.
And only nothing cared to remain.

I am left with no choice but to be one with this nothingness,
flow along its waves, imbibe it and become it. Nix.
Let me evaporate, let me join that cycle of seeming nothingness.
That nothing, that stark quiet before the storm.

Breathe deep into that void.
Inhale nothing.
Hear nothing. See nothing. Say nothing.

Then wait...

Can you feel me now?

As nothing touches you.

*** This was inspired from Catie’s “Nothing Remains”. In choosing this, in no
way am I saying that her poem needs improvement. It is brilliant as it is. I chose this poem of hers because it moved me and spoke to me. Thank you, Catie.

Premium Member Ice Princess

At the time,
a princess made of ice
appealed to him.
She came across him gradually
on a nice day.

Her eyes
were palest blue,
looking steadfast, but not cross.
She came across him winningly
on a *n ice* day.

At the time,
he did not know her,
but she soon made up for that,
coming across as a princess-wife -
his love in ice pack.

Premium Member Fancy's Flight

From cracks above, lightning explodes
A deranged sea rattling the mast;
Hanging on between life and doom
My fate near water’s rim, harassed
When darkness hides the palest star.

Just then, a silhouette appears
Long the tresses, eyes deeply creamed
Ready to meet the tempest’s dare…
In one bolt, a ship wreck redeemed
Calming the dread upon my face.

Against a current's dauntless reel,
The buoyant glide of milder waves
Recedes through siren’s drawl that lures,
That an angry gust now behaves
As she steers me ashore, then leaves.

I wake to feel a heady scent
Recalling tastes of Galene’s night,
Until dream-catcher’s web unfolds
To snap me back from fancy’s flight…
Yet in my head, her mystique heaves.

Behold the Sun of Gold

With wistful EYES I watched him RISE; the dawning sun
Aloft, he TREAD, golden wings SPREAD, and day had begun
Above the GLADE, he was robed in a SHADE of palest pink
I wrote a RHYME before the drying TIME of my indigo ink

My eyes SQUINTED to skies blue TINTED, I watched him soar
Eager to ABSORB the heat of the ORB, he warmed every pore
With my need SATED, I was ELATED and stood quietly in place
Cheeks of peach BLUSH, the sun's BRUSH painted on my face

Then he DISAPPEARED, and as I FEARED, grey clouds hovered
I was FILLED with remorse, and CHILLED once he was covered
I called to the WIND and he THINNED the dark overcast skies
So I could BEHOLD the sun of GOLD before tears filled my eyes

Call it a WHIM, but I must search for HIM throughout the day
Across MEADOWS, I live in SHADOWS; my life in sad disarray
until his vibrant LIGHT is within my SIGHT, I dwell in sadness
But when his rays BEAM at me, I SEEM suffused with gladness

As twilight BLOOMED, I was CONSUMED with apprehension
I could not PREVENT the sun's DESCENT nor quell my tension
Tonight I BELIEVE I will GRIEVE until he rises again at dawn
When I will GREET his SWEET warmth, shining upon my lawn.

I cannot EXPLAIN the depth of PAIN I feel when he is asleep
It's a VAGUE mystery; but a PLAGUE that causes me to weep
I CONFESSED that I'm OBSESSED; under a spell or incantation
Tell me FRIEND, do I DEFEND or END my sunlight infatuation

A Glimpse of Light

My rueful spirit was gowned in a silken shroud of white.
Was there no chance my penitent cries had been heard?
I searched his pensive eyes for the palest glimpse of light,
then he wiped my tears away. His heart had been stirred.

Premium Member Unveiling the True Meaning of Love

Written: September 21, 2023
True Love Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Robert James Liguori
_____________________________________________________________

In a world where illusions often deceive,
Genuine love springs as a jewel to retrieve.
A tale implicit, a sumptuous symphony divine,
Where souls entwine, true love will shine.

Can passion be a fleeting amour, a brief aura?
Or does it grasp a deeper, sapient aurora?
In a realm where hearts oft maunder astray,
Echt love exhibits its zeal and splendor in this way.

Akin to ghosts, love is beset but scarcely seen.
Real passion hits hastily in a radiant, pulsing scene.
It is not a slight propensity, a surreptitious flame,
But an amorist bond that thwarts time is not tame.

True love shines akin to a beacon over princely.
A flame that fires forever, flickering fiercely
Loving someone means wanting their happiness.
A love that inspires the heart leaves just sappiness.

Comely happiness is the nectar, and love is the bee.
It resonates in-depth, not missing a beat of glee.
It harmonizes souls, inducing a blissful tune.
Love that susurrous softly, akin to a palest moon.

When a person implies a lot, distance is so little.
A love that heals all wounds and saves the brittle
True love is a lexicon, spoken without a sound.
A cynosure nexus so esoteric, it can't be drowned.

It is the exegesis of life, the reason we exist,
A love that abides through every swirl and twist
Unwavering flame, two souls sigh, tie untying!
True love is the essence, impetus, and freeing.

The one who loves you spells your name uniquely.
Your name is protected in their mouth so deeply.
For in its embrace, we decry our true selves,
A love that transcends is a love that compels.

A level of optimism is crucial for the birth of love.
Your devotion is not to me but to the stars above.
A tale unavowed, a symphony divine,
Where souls intertwine, true love will shine.

Lonely Moon

Under that pale moon we fell,
deep beneath it's deceitful spell
the pallid beacon drew two moths,
each cut from very different cloths
sharing moonlight's loneliness,
our curse; our void; our emptiness

Under that pale moon, truth died
two lonely hearts could not abide
their fate, to burn, perhaps to freeze
those moments in the moonlight seized
on fragile wings, on furtive flights
together in that palest light

We fluttered so, so far away,
each leading other's hearts astray
to other moons and other's pain
and other lies were told again
for love, forlorn, for sanity,
for isolation or, for vanity

Two hollow hearts beneath that moon,
where hollow feelings end so soon
the vacuum of an empty soul's
a cold, cold place, a black, black hole
where fidelity and pride may die,
underneath a moonlit sky

Story Time

A warm sultry summers night, a silver crystal formed in
the corner of an eye. Trickled and rolled a gentle cheek,
fell to earth where all was dry. Whence it touched the
ground did speak, an Orchid bloomed of vibrant hues,
reds and whites, the palest blues. The Tear catcher dabbed
the bluest eye, a smile pursued a gentle sigh. The catcher
kissed is favourite friend, his purses full to the night did
blend..
Eerk, eerk the frog he croaked, help us Flora the pool is
choked, eerk, eerk and off he hopped, Flora followed
her duties swapped. By the pool, eyes in moonbeams
danced, their love of Flora is well romanced. Flora, Flora
help us please, the pool is choked by a blue disease. The
fish gasped and gulped for air, wildfowl preened their
feathers fair, otters, voles in a sticky mass, frogs and
toads could not pass. The sedge, the reed, heads did fall,
marigolds and lily's, threatened by this seedy sprawl.
With her hands she ceased the breeze, asked for quiet
from the trees. Beckoned all the spiders to the waters
edge, north to south along the sedge. Said to the spiders
cross your legs, spin, spin with all your might, those
silver threads strong and tight. To the Water Boatmen
she said pull, pull, until your net is full. Water Beatles
heaved and toiled, with insect life the water broiled.
Dragonflies with smaller nets collected dregs, Toads
and Frogs flipped with longer legs. The Newts and
Fowl came to assist, where once was dark the moon
it kissed. Across the pool the Voles and Otters pulled
away, most did work but some did play. To the sticky
web the Algae clings, behind a bright blue water sings.
The silver net was dragged well clear, all had helped
from far and near.
Flora asked the breeze to bring the clouds, left a message
for the sun to hide his head, but to keep her friends warm
in the shade. For without the rays the Algae would die,
and all would be peace and beauty before the eye. Dawn
was close, time for Flora to pat, stroke and kiss her pals
goodbye. She must return to the safety of the glade and
to the shade of the magic willow, her bed of moss and
Lavender for a pillow.

Whispering leaves, summer breeze,
A time to postpone all destinies.
In crimson gown, she's on the town,
'Til the dark eyes go slowly down.

Leaving memories of the golden hours,
Laughing children in leafy bowers;
The sunny noon, with the robin's tune,
And the feverish blossoms aswoon!

But, a time comes for the surrender,
When there's nothing more to render;
And where the bluebirds I have known?
It's fate sometimes to stand alone.

In the languid, violet, creeping chill,
Night embraced before, embraces still.
Palest moon, when the stars are out,
Peace is what these moments are about!

As the ghost of day goes his weary way,
To return again through another doorway.
But, for now, he just bids his goodbye,
To the glowing, lovely ruby of the sky!

A Long Way To Here

And the exhausting calamity of the twinkling snow
Frozen solid and thawing beneath the sky
Of gray turns to the palest of blue
With the sun so glistening gently by its rays

And the past flows like a shadow through the mist
Sparkling dew of spring’s once lonely gaze
For then was the time in which emotion stagger
To now his beating of my hearts electrical charade

And in the morning’s tears I notice the reflection
Of my own face, older, wise
And through the trees I hear a voice singing
Past the unknown and into the motioning twinkling of all that was lost
And found in the valley of the darkest shadow
And through the lonely hearts dizzy dance
Amidst the falling sky of a forgotten dream
Out of the waves of ruin of the wondering stare

And she amidst the shore collapsing into the glistening ground
Until all that there will be, through these newborn eyes
Is that same melody floating through the awakening breeze
Until the only sound surpassing the expression of the earth
Is the voice of my love -
Calling me home.
