Best Once Again Poems
Dancing once again with words,
As the two of us, embrace--
Another verse, another rhyme
Of waterfalls, and lace.
Romantic words in meter,
Although where's the gentle kiss?
Where's the touch and feel of it,
The tenderness, I miss?
Need I craft another verse, or two,
Of moon and leafy wood?
Should one appear, and touch my heart,
Then possibly I could.
But what would be the good of it,
Shall my words a love renew?
Then a sonnet I would surely pen
With the imagery of you.
And who can say, though distantly,
Perhaps a spark could grow--
Then I would dance, and cheek-to-cheek...
And let my poems go.
I don't need to remember what it was like to be a kid
I don' t need to memorize where all the fun had been .
It was in the unique moment of a first-born spirit
without obligations and responsibilities .
A Brief moment recalled and lived in a dream.
Immersed in the body of a little brown-eyed girl
How I danced with the flutter of a butterfly ,over and over again.
Dressed up neatly in a white collar shirt ,and a navy blue pinafore dress,
How I ran , breathlessly , in evergreen fields
full of yellow buttercups, dandelion buds, and almond trees
which barely blossomed through the eyes of women , and men .
How I jumped like a frog earning its freedom , doing my utmost to catch the sky,
to reach the soaring hand-made kite ,which kept moving far and high.
My left -hand never letting go of that special red balloon ,
Mama's reward , on a windy afternoon.
Each following morning, feet too tired to get out of bed
but that lasted only till' I saw Uncle Frans'hat.
How happy I was to sit on his lap ,, and listen to bible stories He read.
How happy I was , to lick early fresh raindrops running down
my cheeks,so different from the ones
I feel when I'm out of my sleep.
Moments to preserve. ..
There on the back seat of papa's olive- green car ,
Our Chitty -Chitty Bang- Bang , travelled so far.
Mum,dad, my brother and I ,face 'gainst the wind,
Open mouths , Indian sounds , humming along ,
waiting for birds'wings to flutter as they sing.
What a moment , of hide and seek, musical chairs ,
Of midnight mass and Christmas prayers .
I lived them all ....
Splashes of waves, shovel and buckets on sands ,
Autumn's foliage , picnics with cousins
uncles,aunties ,and friends.
Immersed in the body of a little girl
with long noichettes french -braids swaying in the breeze ,
Playing hopscotch, running wild in vacant cobbled streets.
I do not need to remember what it was like to be a kid
I am there, in the dream , I had lived .
I tasted pure honey before I'd been kissed
Before years took their toll , wiped off
sugar -frosted pink from my innocent lips .
The gift of a new day
holds the promise of a new way
A new way of seeing
A renewed way of being
The shedding of old skin
A fresh place to begin
Resurrected once more
for the treasures in store
A farewell to the old
A chance for the gold
The sunshine above
Another day to love
With strength in your flesh
and a mind that is fresh
New ideas to conceive
with more grace to receive
To dance in the dawn
and forget what is gone
To sing like a bird
and speak a new word
To celebrate when
you are born once again
I told my therapist I had a fall back position That I had saved the pills from my wife's death bed Enough pain killer to bring down an elephant Hiding in the back of Mary's closet Waiting for me if things go Gothic black again My therapist in a calm concerned tone of voice asked me to get rid of them Made me promise to do that as homework and I tried Today the the Firehouse excepted Mary's used and unused needles Then sent me back home with the rest Having brought my attention to these pills has brought them to life in my mind They know my name They have an intimate connection with Mary's pain They have made me remember it all again I will keep them in the trunk of the car tonight And tomorrow they will go to the dump One more shadow of darkness removed One more day of moving beyond the barricade of myself
School days indeed such memories they are
Some stayed close to home, whilst some travelled afar
But where of my first love, where did she go
Our first dance together when I was her Beau
The lovely Olivia, long brown hair, petite
Will she be at the reunion, will we again meet
I still remember the day into the distance she went
To University, beyond, I still sense her perfumed scent
Butterflies, trepidation, after all these years
The evening is soon upon me, I'm nervous for tonight's fears
What if she is there, will she remember her first Beau
I'll only ever know, to the local hotel I now go
I take a familiar path, we walked it so many times
Retracing past moments with her, our footsteps so in rhyme
Through the doors I go, so many faces from my past I see
I don't see Olivia, but so many say hello to me
I have never forgotten your eyes, blue as the sea
Through the crowds I could see you staring at me
Could be after so many years so far away?
That a candle still flickers in our dark destiny?
You reached closer to me, amongst many friends
I wondered how it felt to be touched once again by your hands
Allured by each others silence under an ocean of stars
In the same spot where the prom boy once asked me to dance
Once again, My Lord,
Towards Thy Wisdom I turn
For
An answer to find
Why the many, instead of seeking
Thy eternal Bliss
Chose
With the pleasures of phenomena
To bind?

Unexpectedly,
You appeared into my life, oh Lord
And
The sun of love rose, once again,
Over
The awaiting peaks of faith
Dissipating thus the mantle of darkness
That
Doubt had weaved in the hours of
My soul's despair!

~Springtime Once Again~
(LaCharta)
The days are turning rather hot
It's spring, but you'd think that we'd got
Summer, because it is so hot.
It's so warm need find a cool spot
Rather like weather when is cool
What want now is jump in the pool
Springtime is so lovely indeed
When rains more cool weather we need
It's a nice time to plant more seeds
Also time to kill more those bad weeds
Beautiful roses we see grow
Spring is when nature seems to glow
Hear many birds sing from the trees
Mother duck with her chicks now just see
Children play and just laugh with glee
Many games to play on land, sea.
Enjoy spring, 'cause her days go fast
Spring sadly, for too long won't last.

~Author's Notes:
"The LaCharta" is a poetry style created by Laura Lamarca.
Getting over losing you
Will be the hardest thing to do
Tears will fall, my heart will break
A lonely feeling I will take
In everything I do and see
Knowing that your memory
Is locked inside my lonely heart
And every day I have to start
Living without my best friend
Now all I can do is send
Hugs and kisses through the sky
And on angel wings they’ll fly
Up to heaven where you are
Brightly shining like a star
That I wish on every night
I could hug and hold you tight
One more time before you go
Making the dark night sky glow
With sparkles shining from above
Wrapping me up with your love
Her Smile, The Quest To Once Again Embrace
The great depth of sun-gleamed dancing seas painted in
blue,
Tidal surges that swell in gracing full-moon's hue:
Where all Nature bows its strong, powerful head
too!
Seeking ever more blessed glories across this wide
world,
Oft hidden as is the jewel of Nature's finest pearl:
All for the truest love of her, my shimmering dream
girl.
Within great journey from dark depths of lost love's
throes,
Long aching years, ebbing pain in my mind grows:
Searching heaven and earth hit with unyielding
blows.
Time and Fate may bring sought- this dream in soft
treasure,
Of my quest , epic suffering granted in heavy measures:
Burned by day and night's furies awaited only to find her
pleasures.

I tried to write a poem in the form known as free verse
It didn’t turn out very well in fact it turned out worse
I couldn’t seem to get it down, the rhythm so off beat
It mattered not how hard I tried, I ended in defeat
So, I decided to write a rhyming piece
for that was far easier for me
Fancy words of love that flow like a moonbeam
quivering on a cool midsummer’s eve
as our love was born
When then I gave it one more chance to see what I could do
If only just a stanza or a free verse line or two
But still I had the hardest time to get it to work out
I better stick to rhyming stuff, that’s what I’m all about
So I grabbed my pen and paper,
simple parchment with frayed edges
as if a horizon shimmering beneath a setting sun
beyond a tree line of evergreen and birch
where our hearts rhymed at the end of the day
Then thought that I cannot give up, I had to try again
I have a reputation as a poet to defend
Though when I looked I found that I had not achieved my quest
So I went back to writing rhyme, I think that is the best
And as I gazed to the silent evening sky,
I found a November moon smiling at me,
almost smirking at my failure
and I just smiled back and waited
on the sun when love will rise once again

Unfortunately, the poem is too long for the contest, I really need to learn to read the rules first.
So, I figured, I wrote it, I might as well post it.
Once again, she smiled
Her eyes told a different story though.
Her beauty shone through her simplicity
Her heart,kind yet humble.
Her teacher always by her side,
Never leaving her alone.
She a good student,
A willing learner.
She was once naive, just like the others,
Now so much wiser, she had changed.
She had come a long way,
Yet the journey had not come to an end.
Her resilient will power,
Had never failed.
She smiled, once again.
Watching the time through an hourglass,
We see how quickly the years pass.
Each rule of life we ascertain,
May we live to live once again.
Our youthful days soon come and go;
The more we learn, the more we know.
Once we’ve lived life against the grain,
May we live to live once again.
Our faces wrinkle as we age,
Hoping for relief and assuage.
We struggle through this life of pain—
May we live to live once again.
Through all the suffering and grief,
As time goes on, we find relief.
Breaking free from each lifelong chain—
May we live to live once again.
Returning back to grains of sand,
As the wind blows over the land.
When only memories remain,
May we live to live once again.

I was just trying to remember the past
trying to remember the good people
and the bad people,
that i came across on my way,
i want you to know
that you are among the good people
that left a good trace in my life,
once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.
Once again! I feel love in my heart.
Love's just givin' me a start.
Brings me up when I'm down.
Lifts me higher off the ground.
Sends me soaring through the air.
Runs my fingers through your hair.
Once again!
Once again!
I feel love in my heart.
Tells me you're my shining star.
Kind of brightens up my day.
Seems to be the only way.
Seems to always carry through.
Now our love is shining through.
Once again!
Once again!
Once again! I feel love in my heart.
Love's just givin' me a start.
Brings me up when I'm down.
Lifts me higher off the ground.
Sends me soaring through the air.
Runs my fingers through your hair..
Once again!
Once again!
Once again!
