Her Smile, the Quest To Once Again Embrace

Her Smile, The Quest To Once Again Embrace

The great depth of sun-gleamed dancing seas painted in
blue,
Tidal surges that swell in gracing full-moon's hue:
Where all Nature bows its strong, powerful head
too!

Seeking ever more blessed glories across this wide
world,
Oft hidden as is the jewel of Nature's finest pearl:
All for the truest love of her, my shimmering dream
girl.

Within great journey from dark depths of lost love's
throes,
Long aching years, ebbing pain in my mind grows:
Searching heaven and earth hit with unyielding
blows.

Time and Fate may bring sought- this dream in soft
treasure,
Of my quest , epic suffering granted in heavy measures:
Burned by day and night's furies awaited only to find her
pleasures.

Robert, I love this, I'm so used to you writing sonnets, and this is just lovely just as your sonnets are! "epic suffering"-oh I love that line! :)-luloo

So good to see your reply my good friend! Yes sonnets are my first love in poetry but over the decades I've ventured into other forms. I am very pleased that you like this one--one that survived from so long ago! I have only a couple dozen that survived from age 14 to 16, this written I was 17...

Lost loves are truly painful. It is true, we rarely find anything that measures up. Probably because in our mind we set them so high and treasure that love so much. I enjoyed the read Robert.

Thanks Daniel.. Then a young poet I had just lost a love that was one-sided. She a real girl--yet a dream girl. At my high school, a beauty beyond compare. I went far into the future to write into the past and now having found true love see that this poem was in itself written so long ago a prediction..
