Premium Member A Random Moment

--- Matamoros, 2:00p.m., December 6, 2014

I sit at this table
(as I have done many times)
wielding a ball-point pen,
with insufficiencies of
thoughts and words --
out of place.
All the while
the two dogs --
Guero and Princesa --
shower their affections,
licking and nuzzling,
in return for caresses,
pats, and gifts of food.
They respond in kind
to attention and gentle treatment.
A nearby train
sounds its horn,
blocks a street,
further clogging traffic
in this unhealthy border city.
The day goes on, time elapses slowly.
It is very warm.
I exchange minimal phrases
with the occupants
of this house.
The owner has just
returned from visiting
his dying elder brother
at the Social Security Hospital.
We leave to visit
an acquaintance in the countryside.
A random fragment
from a life.

Premium Member The Field

Summer resplendent sun glowing
in the photosynthesis of viridescent grass.
Waving blades like long fingers flowing,
the sudden sighing gusts come and pass.

The field lives palpable in the anamnesis.
I step through the Queen Anne’s lace,
I lay down on dense turf, where distress decreases,
Sun of repose wrings out pain, leaving no trace.

The field uncut, surrounded by trees,
shooshing wind mixes only with the hum of bees.
Lazy, balmy, timeless afternoon, grasshoppers leap.
Musty grass inhaled. I doze and fall asleep.

The field dandelions release seeds like cotton
floating on nuzzling breeze, landing, then begotten.
Burrowing moles hunt earthworms under soil.
Nests and mounds, why do ants tirelessly toil?

Toad hops by, pausing, inspecting for insects.
Sioux Nation meadowlarks sing of friendship
from the nearby woodland intersects.
Love by dissolving into field, my ritual worship.

At cool dusk, I awaken to cricket chitter.
Night’s canopy of cosmos is without dimension,
measureless. I am free and joyous in star glitter.
I merge with field habitat, awakening all sensations.

Holding Abigail In My Arms

holding Abigail in my arms
my cat is treated to lessons mother
passed on to me
bury your face in her neck
and gently rub your cheek
she will arch backward into the nuzzling
chew softly on her ears
the more you pay attention
to the back of the head
the brain will fire neuropathways
and the memories of mother
will come thru
she pulls back into that look
where we take turns rubbing cheeks
cheek to cheek we declare we belong
to one another
Anatole France noted until you
have loved an animal
you are only a half soul
sometimes my nights need a bit more
to settle the day's dust
the little bottle in the bathroom
comes in the same pink box
i remember wrapping at Christmas
the joy in that present for her
and that is all it takes
full concentration for the night's list
of those in my deepest prayer
one little spray from that bottle
and i am in church next to my mother
lost in the wonderment of a congregation
devoted to the good of mankind
united in prayer and song
such are the neuropathways of mother
God's creatures are blessed as such
mother and a single spray
of White Shoulders

Beckons For Ambrosia a Tale of Romance

He smiles and gazed
deeper in my eyes,
nuzzling closer
whispering words
I want to hear
sweetest love
take my breath away
he whispered
have confession to make
million ways making me quake
fuming hungers
A desire a passion
we can share
A secret
burning like fever
softly calls my name
warm as summer breeze
beckons me closer
he whispered
let me enter
alabaster temple of you
sweet like ambrosia
worship deep
secret delights

Premium Member Old Man Winter

Nip my nose! Pound at my core!
I’ll frame a warm blanket ‘round thighs and toes.
Decorate with icicles door-to-door!
My darling and me, nuzzling like eskimos.
Together we can take anything that Winter throws.

Throw a softball of snow my way
and I will merrily call in the snowmen brigade.
They come armed with carrots and stones…olé!
     Dear Winter, who will come to your aid?
                I shiver! I’m afraid!

Forget about that, I’ll take a nice sleigh ride
down a glistening hill,
with my honey-bear by my side.
With speed bumps, it’s quite a thrill.
Please Winter, don’t set out to kill.

Bitty flakes on my lashes, shoulders; I shake.
My sweetheart will take off my scarf, coat and boots.
So warm by the hearth, we’ll not soon awake.
Before that…we drink cocoa, eat cake with dried fruits.
We will dream of you, Old Man Winter and your pursuits.

Where Have They Gone

Where have they gone?

Where have all the commuters gone?
Said an old Fox nuzzling my hand.
I usually hide and sleep during the day,
Not that I’m complaining you understand.

Where have all the motor cars gone?
Thought a Hedgehog crossing the road.
Usually I must run for my life,
To reach safety and family abode.

Where have all the children gone?
Cried the Ducklings down on the pond.
We haven’t been fed for weeks,
Of that stale bread, we are so fond.

Where have all the vapor trails gone?
Squawked Jackdaw high in his tree.
When I was bored, I could count the lines,
On a good day, fifty-two or fifty-three.

Where have all the Rat poisoners gone?
Gnawed a large rodent leaving his drain.
I am free to infest all your houses,
Causing havoc and crazed panic again.

Where have all the hunters gone?
Cooed Game-birds flying free and high.
No lunatics beating the bushes,
Compelling us to be blasted from the sky.

Where have all the people gone?
Cheered the animals reclaiming their land.
We normally stay out of your way,
The world is ours now, do you understand.

Orgasmic Oceans Outlive Co-Write With Darren White

"Orgasmic Oceans Outlive"

Open skies, where early morning sun wakes...
Rippling small waves hook the shore,
Gladly playing with sun, pebbles and sand
Along this world orgasmic senses breathe
Sending each guest higher and higher
Making this wonderment like no other
Innate flight up, up and higher still
Canto in C, wild and passionate

Only sun and moon know where to be
Capturing silhouettes of reflective light
Engaging all to be part of this world
Arched in this fluorescence whales sing their love
Near each other, nuzzling in wintry water
Slowly engaging, with carnal coyness

Onwardly waltzing upon diamond rocks
Ultimately embracing all that is rapture
Taking hold of love light and glory
Living within this open dream existence
I wish never to awake or leave
Vessels in the distance swim between dolphins,
Each will carry us to dreamlike destinations

note to Darren

Darren you have no idea what this entry means to me and the worth of working together with you and sharing words. And yes sharing words of the ocean. How grand is that. Very. It was an honor and privilege.

Thank you Darren. Excuse me. Thank you Penguin.

Premium Member Unconditional Surrender To Love

Liquescent sunset fades away,
From the calm ocean horizon;
Slow ease, moving,
Mingling hues of scarlet,
Coral mood of twilight.

Immerse in the serene ocean music,
Waves begin to creep within reach;
Graceful pull, backs away,
To its labyrinth fathoms depth.

The air, I inhale deep,
Lost in briny cool breeze.
My passionate heartbeat
Consumes in its quintessence
Of the unfeigned world,
My simple lullaby.

Seagulls sailing by
Settling down for the night.

Alone, just my beloved and me,
Sit on a blanket, spread out
Over the grain of sand, nuzzling close.
A picnic, under the nascent twilight heaven.

Candles flicker blue-red flames,
Stimulating sparks, from the gentle stroke
Rolling off the ocean breeze.

A basket of fresh fruits, aged cheese,
Two crystal glasses
Filled with champagne as love beckons.
A fleeting glance into colorfulness night;
For our ardent passion flowers
Our unconditional surrender.

Premium Member Twilight’s Still Breath

I hold three magic rocks, in my hand
Rolling them over and over and over
Leaving this reality behind, far behind

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Crafty moon sends her light, gently nuzzling
Rustling in the winds, songs of peace and praise
Endless dreams swaying, dancing, in full swing
Fairytale wishes fade as starlight prays
Where love sought her kiss, beneath angel’s wings
Rustling in the winds, songs of peace and praise
Hopeful bursts of grace still the swords of kings
Washing away shadows with light that glows
Where love sought her kiss, beneath angel’s wings
Songs of passionate nights stir life that knows
Beautiful tears, kindness, restoring hope
Washing away shadows with light that glows
Melodies in rich rose teach minds to cope
Winter fades into spring’s breathless debut
Beautiful tears, kindness, restoring hope
Nirvana of grace stirs life, all brand-new
Crafty moon sends her light, gently nuzzling
Winter fades into spring’s breathless debut
Endless dreams swaying, dancing, in full swing
Premium Member Puzzle Of Life
"Our differences are like the pieces of a puzzle called life"
Is there a larger purpose for everything? We can all agree
at least for me, I just can’t imagine there not be, on it I fixture
In a puzzle each piece plays an important part in the big picture
We analyze life’s order and disorder and conclude life’s puzzling
We then by nuzzling the piece which doesn’t fit,
go back and try and force it, and that’s when we find
each piece IS unique, and just like puzzle pieces,
our differences may not always fit together perfectly,
still, we create a beautiful picture when we work together
“Ecstasy” was the first film the Austrian Hedy Lamarr starred in
She was the first ever to simulate a climax on screen,
This may NOT seem like an important puzzle piece to many
Banned by Hitler, riskant and although unseen in Germany
Hedy Lamarr was not only a bombshell Hollywood movie star
A technology inventor of frequency hopping, a significant Role in WWII
We spend so much time looking for one specific puzzle piece, when all along
it’s right there in front of us, important women of history, she made
such an impression on me by far! She escaped from Mandl’s grasp
by fleeing to London, where she broke free from ethic and civil strife
I am pleased I found this intriguing part of the puzzle of life!
Premium Member My Black Cat's Felony
A pair of eyes glowed in pitch darkness
Like two emeralds set on a black foil
My black cat paced across the doorway
Her tail, curled at her back like a coil
With soft steps, she crossed the aisle
And ventured out looking for a prey
She didn't meow or make any sound
Outside the house she opted out to stray
Our home with its premises was her domain
With glowing eyes that were cold as ice
She padded up and down the drive way
Looking for some unsuspecting mice
The night was still and not a leaf fluttered
The moon was a paling silver disc in the West
In her sharp ears, fell the faint sound
Of the nuzzling of fledglings in a nest
Sensing there was chance to spot a prey
Agile and alert she looked around
Down she slid along the steep wall
Following the trail of that faint sound
She arched her back into a curve
And moved closer and closer to the hedge
She saw three birdies like dressed chicken
Snuggling in an open nest at the edge
Bare of plumage, they were like pieces of flesh
And too young for fight or flight
Their mother had sadly flown away
Never expecting them to be in such a plight
The cat carefully raising itself on hind legs
Poised bristling for the measured kill
With claws sharp, she pounced upon her prey
And in a second all was silent and still
Unable to flap their wings or make a sound
They yielded to the needle claws of steel
When the mother bird alights with worms in her beak
Who can gauge the depth of pain she would feel!
Premium Member Happiness
Happiness is a state of mind
See a horse nuzzling its foal
They for the moment are surrounded by it.
Or a sunbeam shining over a flower
Making it sparkle and seem to dance with joy
Its the mass of little things that give pleasure
A child stops crying over a bump
When its mother gives it a kiss.
Its when little things by themselves
Don't matter but collectively they bear happiness,
You can have a half full glass or a half empty one
The choice is yours to make look out for nice memories.
So you see the more you quit crying over silly upsets
The happier you will become in return
Always choose to be positive about things
The reward will be that you enjoy life much more.
Premium Member Sundrops
Sundrops dapple umbrageous trees
strewing uncut diamonds, littering the path
with ambient flickers of what lies beyond.
Sundrops freckle ocean's surface
accenting the ripples that pattern the waves,
nuzzling playful kisses toward the warm beach.
Sundrops seduce the wayward wind
pirouetting with the aphids blissful dance,
a frenzied tarantella across my lips.
A Silent Proposal
I never spoke for him to leave, to follow and take my hand,
But I fear I may have, with something more powerful,
Than the sounds slipping off my tongue and through my teeth.
It may have been the way my teeth bit down on my lips,
-coloring them crimpson
Or the husky sighs that called his name through the hours of night.
It may have been the way he looked into my eyes,
- half down lids, smoldering in his gaze,
Those honey warmth a were looking into the skies and found,
-the universe instead.
The galaxy was now his to love, he had found the looking glass to heavens gardens.
I never used my words - but it may have been the way my hips swayed,
My curbs like temples to be conquered by his hands.
Oh and how I loved the way he roamed over my land,
He loved my valleys and my mountains, my river was the fountain of his youth.
I loved the way his voice purred and called me to the bedroom.
It may have been The way my fingers ran through his hair,
Teaching him that he could enjoy the things he never had,
Smooth legs curled up in his lap, soft lips drawing over his skin.
It could have been my smoothness or the smell I let drift and waft over his senses,
Or perhaps the color of my hair, it's soft curls wrapped around his finger,
Maybe it was the way my fingers kneaded the rocks from his shoulders,
-till his tension turned to sand.
Nails caressing his back, crawling to his chest to draw circles in his silk.
The way my hands smoothed over his body, easing his thoughts,
Erasing his worries, drawing the breath from his lips.
I welcomed him home with arms wrapped around his body and dancing eyes,
-my smile sparkled in the twilight.
I stroked his soul and made it quiver, showed it how to dance,
I lit a fire blazing deep inside him, halting time with my gaze,
And I could feel the crystal constellations threatening to fill the oceans with stars,
Maybe it was the way I rubbed my face against his skin,
Nuzzling his tender spots with affection, building his strength,
He read me like his favorite book, falling in love with my lines,
My letters dripping sweet from his lips, his fingers caressing down my spine.
I didn't speak the words, but my body bid him to come home.
For So Work the Honey Bees
Consider first the humble bees,
who do God's work upon their knees,
when nuzzling deep in dewy laps
and drinking deep of scented saps,
they softly spread the potent germ
that brings each rose to its full term.
So 'tis bees who seed that fragrant breed
that man's coarse nostrils can't but heed.
This brings us to a second thought,
which seems to be so deeply fraught
with portent for our universe.
Could God's intent be so perverse?
what number of bees do you suppose is
****ed when sucked up people's noses?
