Marked Wrists

Behind those hidden marked wrists
Are lies, skepticism and fears
Behind those calloused, clenched fists
Is a cauldron of uncontrollable tears.

Behind those evident scars
Is a constant cycle of sorrows
An imaginary fiend that mars
A twinge that only herself knows.

Behind those unappealing blotches
Are griefs, worries and insecurities
Inflictive pain worth a million degrees
Coupled with regrets and negativities.

Behind those ugly knife marks
Is an unfathomable, aesthetic heart
Who got fed up with judgment and remarks
But was actually dauntless from the start.

Behind the so-called 'stupid cuts'
Is depression that she tried to overcome
Abaft her courage and remarkable guts
Is a doltish move for some.

Behind those wrists is the sickening dogma
On people's choices regarding suicide
Cowardice- that is society's stigma
But the truth is, they're already dead inside.

Keep Hope In Your Heart

To have hope in your heart is to believe,

To have faith within yourself and disbelieve,

You wont more from your life than is given,

To strive for success to be driven,

Don't be hopeless to give up on the fight,

To extinguish that blazing bright light,

It's so easy to just hide away and give up,

To be stagnant in life or cover it up,

It's not always the easiest route or way,

Having hope in your heart makes headway,

Dreaming of hope is simply not enough,

You have to put in the work and be tough,

Pushing forward will help you achieve,

There will be barriers, but you must believe,

Have faith in your own capabilities,

And ignore the negativities, impossibilities,

Believe in the availabilities and probabilities,

Never give up on hope, to fulfil your dreams,

No matter what it takes do it by any means.

Keep hope within your heart so dreams become real,

And life may just seem a bit more ideal.

Just Like You

Hey dear Flawless Falls
Just like you,
I want to jump freely
Rehabilitate myself freshly

Hey dear Radiant River
Just like you
I want to sing solely
Break the barriers slowly

Hey dear Majestic Mountain,
Just like you,
I want to stand strong
amidst the negativities that throng

Hey dear tall trees
Just like you
I want to touch the sky
nevertheless nudge my soil until I die

Hey dear nourishing nature
Just like you
I want to absolve
bad deeds done by humans and make them evolve

Premium Member Barometer Deer

A snow white deer was downed by a hunter.
A once in a lifetime trophy, he boasted.
Some folks were crimson pissed
because a snow-white deer is very rare,
a sign of good things to come.

The purist of beings to reappear....
an antlered angel... wearing a message
a reminder that God is still present,
still looking after- picking up
after
us.
From the edge of our acid cloud, sludge streams
burning forest of Dali dreams.
Waiting for the perfect time.
The perfect time
to float above the clearing.
To cleanse
to whisper "there's still miracles-miracles abound
there's still time to turn negativities into lacy dreams.
Knead bullets into butterflies and mustard seeds.
Spin the planet back from black to aquamarine".

To the hunter it was just a leaping piece of meat
to be silenced-d- skinned- devoured displayed...
owned.

Now some people want to bow the hunter down
you know, nail his polyester neck to the forest wall
for stuffing his miracle.

Perhaps the white deer was a test.
God's barometer, to see where our souls are really at...

My Anxiety

Anxiety can fuel a person with imaginations created from the darkest corners of the mind, overwhelming them with the negativities of the unknown.
It is in those moments where it’s critical to take a step back and remember to breathe, to exhale the toxics fumes of what is known as anxiety.
Thoughts of the uncertain tomorrows will only drain you of today’s strength,
reducing your functioning capabilities in the present moment whilst siphoning away your optimism.
Anxiety by itself is nothing but a simple concern about the uncontrollable future;
it is our reaction to anxiety that is poisonously damaging to our psyche, entrapping us in a toxic cloud of helplessness.
Thus, alleviation from anxiety is necessary in order for us to optimize our functioning capabilities for today’s responsibilities.
Concerns and worries about the future will always exist but becoming overly fixated on them is what hinders our ability to be productive in the present moment.
File away your worries about situations that are not under your control and focus your mind and energy towards the worries that can be addressed presently.
It is only after you begin to chip away the outer layers of an onion that you will ultimately be able to target the core.
Make the most of what today brings by using today’s strength to target today’s problem and leave tomorrow’s struggle for the tomorrow you;
you are doing the best you can today and today…
you are productive.

Premium Member Let There Be Peace

Let there be peace!
the door to co-existence
has not, so many keys
and creating minorities
is definitely conflict's niece.

Let there be peace!
Forgiveness and tolerance
makes all live at ease.
If discrimination is given a chance
hatred, it will lease.

Let there be peace!
why do we allow unnecessary negativities
put us under hot quiz
and unfortunate repercussions,
at us they laugh and tease?

Let there be peace!
If dwelling on differences does not cease
everyone will pay
the huge fees.

Let there be peace!
tasting the bitter fruit of war
even if it is a piece
takes away good conscience.
The plenty suffering it gives
our sense of humanity they seize.

Let there be peace!
Are we lower than the bees;
that we can't fly and create together?
Are we less matured than the geese;
that we cannot sing and dance
by the waters together?

No, we aren't!
Let's live in peace
and act higher up the Animal Kingdom
where we are,
to live void of wars, please......

Body Mind Spirit

Our bodies respond to our thoughts,
Cultivated in our minds.
Sending out positive thoughts,'
Magnetically attract positive things
Across the energy fields in the environment.

The mind, mostly made up of thoughts,
Is personal, private and often public.
With it we think through situations,
And find answers to questions about life.

Spirit, built up from the characteristics
And personality and strong will inside;
‘Fight off’ negativities and propel us
Through ‘hard times.’

The body is seen and felt, and so is material.
The mind and spirit are abstract in form.
They all constructively work - body, mind, spirit;
To holistically create, the total whole that’s man

Not writing on Gen. 1:26

According to my Herbal Instructor,
Body is the physical man
Mind deals with the emotional, mental and the environment,
Spirit deals with what ever a man believes in. That is, what keeps him going.
All three - Body, Mind, Spirit as the last line of the last stanza says
Holistically combine to depict the totality of human kind who was created a Living Soul.

Society has taken on these three;
-Healthy body in healthcare
-Mental health for the mind
-Spirit is fed by Religion
-or a passion for Anything such as POETRY!

Only name the day, and I shall be there

This morning the notification woke me up

With still sleep in my eyes I reached for my phone

And the tone

lingers from that Twi in my ear

Annei I love you though, despites his tears

To forget the world, and they negativities

Of a love such as ours, it clean, it’s pure

Love does not speak volumes(quote)

It speaks the honesty of another one confession,

Loving another person is hard work,

Only true love to me is a newborn baby love

for its mother, he trusts her immediately

As we gaze into each other eyes,

We smile, we reminisce we both lied:

We try to outdo each other:

Was I king liar or was he king Lear?

Revealing too much, or revealing a little

Listen carefully, and responding with affection

Or simply use the body language

This fool will get back to you.

And old gal interpretation of fear not want not

We really don’t get each other:

My darkest fear is why did he walk

The dark street of Accura at 3.am?

That’s when my psychoanalysis study step in:

Where the boy seeks, love in an old familiar place

 the street love of his childhood dream;

I asked of him not cut his hair

It makes him look like a youth,

Older men take advantage of desperate

Looking youth, because of the boyish look,

and that all it took:

Meat for the belly, and the belly for the meat(quote)

So, happily this morning I decline,

You learn a lot about a man by his behavior when hungry. ~ Zambian Proverb

I Dreamed a Dream

I dreamed a dream
But my dream stuck in an hourglass
I cry, I cry
As I stare at my own leap of sands

You, poor soul of mine!
Pen the prelude in the pack of the stars
Patiently wait until it becomes like one
And itself, bring home the sunrise
To my gloomy visage and weary heart

Give me the fruit of success
Oh! Poor soul of mine!
Tomorrow might not say, "Hello"
Better undress your mind from all negativities
Feed your thoughts with beautiful sceneries
Drop off--- that laziness
It destroys and kills the entire YOU

I am the DREAM you claimed your Better half
But when will you free me from the hourglass?
Almost, but you've never been here
Long have I waited you
You will never know how far I could take you to
Unless you go the distance
And chase me 'til I'm all yours

Premium Member Keep the Faith 2

I attended a meeting with, supposedly a friend, and was introduced to
Despised, Dehumanized, Decreased, Diminished, Disregarded, and Devalued,
who, by the way, wanted me to become like them. While there, I also had
a rendezvous with Dejection and Rejection? And there were many others
whose names I never learned.

I had never been more alone and unsupported when I was put in a room
with Marginalized, Minimized, and Unrecognized as I struggled to survive.
In my attempt to stay on 'top of things', it seemed everyone present went
'low' on me.

It didn't stop there. I also met other attendees like Overcharged, Overlooked,
and Overworked. In my futile pursuit of resolutions, endless despair seemed
to fill the air, and I discovered rootless dispensers of negativities.

But in spite of all that I saw and felt, I kept looking, because
I believed that somewhere out there was a world filled
with people of goodwill who really do care.
In spite of all the resistance I encountered
and the lies that I heard, I dared to keep listening,
because deep in my heart I could hear 'Words of Faith'.

Faith in The Father.
Faith in The Family.
Faith in The Fellowship.
Faith in The Future.
Faith in Friendships.

So, keep believing if you dare,
And you too will hear 'Words of Faith'.

Premium Member Love, Love Now

Love, love now
Today, not tomorrow
Forget about the sorrow
Quit asking how
Stop wondering
If it’s not spring
Invent a new season
Create a good reason
Stop the unnecessary excuses
Dream like the Muses.

Love, love today
Now, right now
Every day is a new day
To love, to smile, to bow
And to breathe better than yesterday
Keep all negativities away, at bay
Be quintessentially optimistic about life
And the weather. Inhale and laugh
Exhale and giggle like the little ones
Be wonderful and gracious at once.

Hope is eternal
Nastiness is detrimental
In the air, smell the scent of the future
And don’t stop kissing Mother Nature
Love, love now
And quit wondering how
Use your imagination
And take action.

From the Other Side of the Street

We were tired of living,
But weren’t sure of leaving.
To them, we portrayed an incoherent loquacity of a nervous Mong-er,
Committing crimes, living in abject poverty and dying in hunger,
Yet, their thoughts put on the panoply of killing.

We have been around this neighborhood,
But never had a chance to act with the Nollywood.
Their cameras were always on us like celebrities,
Not for good but to show the world our negativities,
We die daily, yet, we didn’t break the brotherhood.

The sound of their guns do thunder in fury,
Dwarfing our ambitions, then our visions blurry,
Then like vicissitudes of wind and weather,
We still adjust our lives like buckles on leather,
And wish to survive the tears of outraged vanity blinding us in a hurry.

We are from the black race,
It’s evident in our bloods and my face,
Let the black man enjoy freedom truthfully,
Because the decision to be free is taken freely,
I think I have already set the pace.

Premium Member Negativities and Possibilities

To every negativity
There may be a possibility
To every possibility
There may be an impossibility
It all depends on one's effort
One's IQ
One's luck
And many more
Please don't straight jump into the conclusion
God has shown you
The possibilities on one hand
And the impossibilities on the other hand
And you only have to find the road to the possibilities
The only road to them

Across the Boundaries

They save us irrespective of our religion and caste
They all fight for our dreams, safety, and liberty
They make our unity, regardless of our minds
They are responsible for every step of our success

Apart from poverty and pollution
Apart from dusty, noisy and chaotic roads
Apart from touts and cheats and corruption
Apart from people no respect for the environment

They stand by before the enemy's bullets at nights
They ignore the negativities in our country
They focus on sovereignty and integrity
They are strong enough to fight and die for the country.

It's only because of them, to party right now
I request you all to stand up and applause
For our real heroes, who represents the country's pride
Just be thankful, respect them, and love them.

The Poetivist's Pledge

My pen is my sword
My paper my shield
Always I shall write
Light to shed
On the hard-to-express

Forever I shall fight
The negativities of this world
I pledge to sustain the fight
With all my might

Pen for the better
Reshape the world
So help me God!
