me
needing
you through
good and bad
times shared of
joy and love with
forgiveness linked
into redemption
saved through troubled times
with truth is grace
loving daily
portrayed and
pure is love
through me
needing
you

How street lamps cast a pallid light,
Which bleeds, through this angst I bestow
On thoughts dim … flamed by an invite
To leave a dwelling, soul of woe
While ambling far one rose held tight;
A wish faint and falling quite low :
The smudge of rain, its drop a haze
Which grips a widowed time’s malaise.
Could another place find my voice
Where suffering eases life’s thorns?
How tears plunge, my words cannot hoist
My wail for guidance when eve mourns
When fate, harsh, won’t let me rejoice
This new dawn till time’s grace adorns,
A rising hope , my second chance…
To dance again as years advance.

Theme: A wish faint and falling
Dedicated to Charlie Cooper, poet brother, R.I.P.

Awake to God’s Touch +++
Desperate prayers
Shouted, even silently
Howling heavenward:
Begging, pleading
Again
For God to come…
Poignant prayers
Revealing struggles,
And needing help
to go on through
Present straits; to be
Embraced through
Aloneness and fears.
Those prayers pause
Often near despair —
feeling ignored:
With no attained
communion felt.
But, child of God,
Know that in your
Seeking…
Is of God’s leading,
And his calling, his
Touching invitation
That brought you to
Your asking-prayers.
Our most holy
**I AM** stays
…Wanting, waiting
For you to sense and
— at last…realize he
Is ever-present
Within your
Believing, opening,
*Expecting*heart…

Thanks be to God
I sit in the dark needing the light.
Pretending I am content living in sorrow.
The blinds could be opened
Changing the course of the day
Bringing light and Love into a bleak place.
One gentle tug and the forest sun will brighten everything
Bringing rainbow light into my life. My soul begs for me to begin.
Three hours later here I sit in a gray place staring at a ridiculous I-Pad
Which has brought me no joy in hours; a hostage to my own laziness.
We made each other a promise
over chilled wine...
as we smiled
with an irresistible desire;
even the most beautiful words
can lose their meaning over time!
I should have been the perfect lover
with that unquenchable thirst for more,
only to be consumed by passion once:
not afraid to feel like a thirst rose
needing raindrops...waiting for rain
to bring life where there was none!
Being faithful and devoted to only one
is very hard with all the temptations around;
and it can be truly lovely and satisfying,
till something goes wrong!...
Then the wounded heart goes searching
for a different song,
with sweeter and more forgiving words,
to be heard by someone who imagined love
as free as the clouds up above!
I have slept alone tossing in cold sheets of pain,
dying to feel and touch your smooth skin...
remembering the gleams of moonlight
covering our naked bodies on each and long night!
I regret all the joy of sharing love so quickly,
still thinking of that woman I truly miss...
enough for me to curse the darkness
growing inside and around me!
I am slowly fading into nothing
as if I never existed...
like a thirsty rose needing rain-drops,
soon to be buried into dust!
31.
Some work day mornings just fill with sour time.
The evenness of the florescent lights is annoying
I see all the familiar faces hating every moment along with me.
A department meeting, how horrifying.
The common voices outlining choices--that have nothing to do with you
Blacken and blue, I must stomach this painful gathering of shrews
A pressured push in the brain
To not let this poison my day
I rely on pleasant memories to carry me away:
The last cherished talk, the phone message from a friend.
I really can’t wait for this meeting to end.
Now my agitation has been noticed.
I am not paying attention--thinking about folly and Ben.
The expression on my face shows rejection
Can she see my recollection of the last time we met?
Crap now I am found out; she must be judging what my whole life is about.
Turn toward her stare, show sincerity and care
Easy now tiger-- and smile--give the moment awhile.
Save face, my Japanese ancestors would say.
I am disciplined, this is work--not time to play.
Don’t let distraction make you her prey.
She smells of stale garbage and wine
Her boots all worn and tattered
Stern-faced and stony eyes
Dressed in a tired ol' mink
She shivers as she takes a rest
From pushing her metal cart
Squeaking and overflowing with
Items reflecting her life
She had been warned twice to move
The choice was not hers to make
Today, like all the others
She will walk ten blocks or so
In hope to find a warmer place
To lay down for the night
Just a corner to rest
Is all she will be needing
She knows this will be over soon
The pain gets worse each day
Yet, her hopes live on for one more day
Her deliverance is on its way!

*"HOMELESSNESS"
Bogeyman, Bogeyman you come again
My night of hope screams for crumbs to eat
I'm iust a boy needing a few coins
Offering old tin cup to rich men on the lane.
Cold my body wrapped like soiled paper,
Echoing my plea for mercy or grace
Yet, I'm bypassed like a rag, a nameless tag,
While you laugh at my dingy fate, mocking
A young life's poverty... I bellow of angst
Instead of helping me learn in school,
Your trace of arrogance maims my bones
Do vou know how hard it is to sleep in the rain?
Bogeyman. Bogeyman... one day, you just might
Take my place, and hear not the echo
Of kindness reverberating from heaven's call.

For The Seeker's Being Homeless Contest
Within the darkness of the night
When blackness fills the room
The only light is from the stars
The only smile is from the moon
My emotions slowly come alive
And my dormant thoughts arise
Finding them becoming realities
As your sweet image I visualize
While you sleep I watch you lovingly
Praying a time will never come to be
A moment when you stop loving me
A time when you might want to leave
For all the goodness one could ever find
In life is wrapped deep within your heart
Its value I will ever need close to me
So this genuine happiness will not depart
I pray inwardly and so very silently
To my lord who answers sincere prayers
That I might receive his favorable grace
Allowing your love to always be near.
A preponderance of evidence
escalates
as tangled thoughts figure-eight
only to resonate
in a haze of Cerebral*Hypoxia.
You leave me breathless
While my heart
hammers,
I drown in yearning
as realization dawns.
Life, without you, is torture
and this is bliss-
seeing truth
within your eyes
and finding love.
* Cerebral hypoxia refers to deprivation of oxygen supply to brain tissue. Mild or moderate
cerebral hypoxia is sometimes known as diffuse cerebral hypoxia. It can cause confusion
and fainting, but its effects are reversible.
I need your hand
To support my way,
Your sein to embrace
My breast every day.
The arome of your body
To refresh the smell of mine,
Your breath and mouth
To get cooler my shine.
I need your smile,
To be near me every time,
Your eyes and their heat
To get lost in mine and slime,
Their look and their love
To mirror in mine, against time.
I have always needed you,
In my harsh, heavy way,
To defy all is black and to view
All my blackness and stay.
From ash to raise me - become new,
I really, really need you.
Conclusion of past regrets full of rage
Last scene closing on the finale stage
Oblique entries into a malevolent cage
Secretive questions why were we engaged
Egressions of needing to turn another page
Optimism for a novel and fresh new life
Painful memories almost being your wife
Exposed lies that free me from your strife
Nourished new future free from negative rife
There it was...the door slammed shut leaving past conclusions out for garbage. I am the one who realized the authenticity of our broken alliance. I needed you. You never needed me. I was your mess you had to clean up on a daily basis. You pretend you're benevolent. I pretend I am happy. I have sorrow. I have regret..I have misery. Surprisingly, the angels sang and the iniquity of my essence awoke my internal bliss. There it was...the door slammed open leading my longing soul to fill with growth and hope. There is a certain harmony that leads the cloudy skies into peaceful insight. My aspiration and confidence have turned my anguish into the anticipation of healing. Now, my expectations have been crowding around my insecurity, releasing acceptance that my murkiness has transformed into vivacious exhilaration. I have hope. I have joy. I have gratitude.

Rain pours, oh my soul
Soothing as rhythmic drum beats.
Peacful sleep at last.
I wish I wasn't dissapointment
wish I wouldn't hurt them more
if I could I'd give them ointment
healing sores I caused before.
i'm supposed to be a grown up
yet down, so growing's slow
the past; I sure did grow tough
from forgetting my first home.
~little house up on the shore
~is where I learned to walk
~baby crawling on the floor
~and I'm babbling to talk.
that house did nothing good
in fact, it feeds my demon
within i'm so much good
on the out i'm disobedient.
as if i'm mad at the world
pointing fingers, holding grudges
"how could you ever do this world?"
"tell me how to rise above this!"
...it's not a black or white,
yes or no, straight answer
it's a battle; have to fight.
try and beat emotion cancer.
i can't tell if I am weak
or actually put to disadvantage
until then, i'll sleep
i love em' all behind the:
lies
hurt
drugs
theft
tricks
anger
greed
total damage and bad habits.
I’m curled up in your sheets
Drinking in your essence.
Wanting becomes needing, desperation,
For your touch between my thighs,
Your lips on my neck,
Fulfillment and ecstasy.
I need every inch of you,
Every piece of you,
Wrapped up in my heart.
