Needing a Granted Wish
How street lamps cast a pallid light,
Which bleeds, through this angst I bestow
On thoughts dim … flamed by an invite
To leave a dwelling, soul of woe
While ambling far one rose held tight;
A wish faint and falling quite low :
The smudge of rain, its drop a haze
Which grips a widowed time’s malaise.
Could another place find my voice
Where suffering eases life’s thorns?
How tears plunge, my words cannot hoist
My wail for guidance when eve mourns
When fate, harsh, won’t let me rejoice
This new dawn till time’s grace adorns,
A rising hope , my second chance…
To dance again as years advance.
