~The Narwhal Beckons Before Dawn~

If I could sing a song,
It wouldn't be just any song.
I would sing a song about a fish
A fish who is not a fish, but a whale
Not just any whale, A Narwhal

This night I'll sing a short song of a whale
Dancing under the moonlight dusk
Swimming with ivory tusk, underwater musk
Rising to the morning glory in the sky
Communicating with the waves
Squealing around,
Trilling and clicking supersonic sounds

If I could tell you a tale
It wouldn't be just any tale
I would tell you a tale of a fish
A fish who is not a fish, but a whale
Not just any whale, A Narwhal

Grayish brown,
White freckled belly crown
Elusive and mysterious
Without the Arctic water, I'll get delirious
A rare whale, with a tooth for a hoot
Enjoying shrimp, squid, and fish food
Taking care of the young,
I swim in pods all day long
I' stay away from what consumes my cod
Polar bears, orca whales and native spear
My greatest fear and nightmares.

If I could share some words
It wouldn't be just any words.
I would share some words about a fish
A fish who is not a fish, but a whale
Not just any whale, A Narwhal

Deep, down the ocean odyssey
My beliefs and skin peel easily
With a tear, I drown
When called "The Underwater Unicorn"
My words are naught more than a sad song I sing
A tale of a whale not just any whale, A Narwhal
The next time you go out to sea
Looking for blubber and ivory
Please don't look at me!
For I am just a Narwhal
And, I belong to the sea

Pods of narwhals navigate Arctic seas,
while other whales are locked out; without keys.
Swimming along fractures takes expertise,
thick ice packs are nothing more than a tease.

Naturally nimble, they glide and squeeze
between invisible currents with ease.
They seem to fly as if on a trapeze,
harnessing waves like birds riding a breeze.

Though floating together like fallen leaves,
they have never seen a forest of trees.
And whenever the ice buckles and heaves,
they slip through the cracks where water doesn't freeze.

And awed by their tusks, I drop to my knees,
I've never seen creatures stranger than these.

Narwhal

Once legendary
now endangered,
Gigantic narwhals
under the sea bawl,
Had the woman
with the harpoon rope,
Not been dragged
and her hair transformed,
Why would Inuits hunt
for fats to arctic natives,
Rather be precious taste
to the Royal,
Sea Unicorn fascinates..
A fish with a horn
in its forehead !

Ode To the Narwhal

Ode to the Narwhal

The marine waters have some animals, which are as graceful as they could be.
And one such aquatic creature is the narwhal, the unicorn of the sea.

Swimming with a horn tearing up the turquoise tides,
The Arctic waters is where this porpoise resides.

Oh narwhal, the sun shines on your grey whale skin;
And then you swim below eating small fish with fins.

Oh narwhal, how did you get that beautiful horn on your head?
You truly are one quirky beast of the sea bed.

So I wish that you don’t get hunted down & live on for 40 years,
Lest the sea level would rise with your brothers’ gloomy tears.

Sometimes I feel like drifting in the blue, be strayed away & lost,
Plunging in the frigid waters of the Northern Frost.

Oh narwhal, welcome me to your aquatic domain.
Teach me how to dive to glory, help me to relieve my pain.

Keep on living underwater while I write this ode,
Perhaps one day, I will witness your magical abode.

N arwhal... fathomless dreamer of the deep
A resting beauty and fantastic myth
R arest of rare, chased from the land by modern man
W here Unique Horns once pranced the forests, left only Corpses Whaling
H eathen magic has again cast its spell and hidden you
A las, you sing your woe filled song in your last retreat

Narwhal- Our Life

Known for my large tusk coming from my canine tooth that is protruding,
Sexually attracted to the six years old female though I m thirteen,
Was swimming for predation, saw her chasing my favorite prey from benthic,
She was snatching my flatfish from dense pack of ice in the waters of Arctic,
Whistled in the hot weather, together from bays into the ocean we migrated,
With her I would live for another 40 years till I die, looked at her and vowed,
Summer gone and winter shattered my dreams when sea ice over her froze,
Bearing beautiful calves, came another Narwhal, stared at me, love again rose,
Mated with her in the season spring, sprung a newborn after fourteen months,
Dependent on milk, stays by his mother’s back, my cutie swims by her assistance.

The Narwhal

In the northern hemisphere narwhals grow
With only two teeth you think that’s a poor show
But the prominent one grows into a sword
Breaking through from this creatures’ upper lip jaw
It spirals clockwise up to eight feet
This ivory tusk is quite unique
In the southern hemisphere it grows the opposite way
Counter clockwise biologist state
This tusk is a sensor they use for many things
Sometimes a contest to win mates of their dreams
They use this as a pick to break through the ice
This pointed spear will suffice
It's a very good weapon to ward of danger
In studies it’s also shown as some sort of ranger
It can even detect a change in external situation
Making checks it can pick up on temperature fluctuation
And a chemical analysis this sensor sends waves
It’s connected to this mammals heart and brain
They can slow it down or make it beat fast
This is one awesome creature of the past
That lives in the ocean deep and dark
A mystical warm blooded whale of the sea
A beautiful unicorn, you don’t often see

Norrie the Narwhal

There once was a Narwhal named Norrie
Who went for a drive in a lorry
They crashed into a truck
His horn lanced it, bad luck
And the holey truck driver is sorry.

Narwhal

Unicorn and fish
joined in, to create a niche
unlike a notion
in the waves of the ocean
it looks really awesome

A whale with a horn
Ocean has a unicorn
it just seemed to be
A Tale of a fish forlorn
Till all the male Narwhals tusked

Tusk and fight they did
For territory they lead
No risk of a fall
Polar ice makes resolve tall
They are nice and cool Narwhal.

Narwhal and a Narwhal-Contest

Narwhal And A Narwhal

Saw the caption of a narwhal and reflected over it
A room for warrior community of north India in poesy?
Was intrigued by the chosen name yet slept over it

It remained there like my mocking mirror
Tweaking me to gear up to put on my armour
Held my quilled sword charted out my action plan
Learnt what a narwhal is, its modus operandi of survival

Its images made me burst into a gregarious laughter
Its poems created a ripple of sorts to tickle my bones
Narwhal and a narwhal for sure are clones!

One in the Arctic and the other in Asia
One underwater and the other on earth
One looks like a whale the other a whale of a heart

The arctic has a toothy tusk grown out of head
The asian has a tusky sword round his waist
The tusk dives deep into frozen water
The sword dives deep into the betrayer

Both the clan protectors live in pods
Attuned to honest truths and energised in empathy
A smooth exterior unless the hierarchical swords are clanging

A unicorn and a grower of corn gormandize on fishy delights
The mythical spirit and the earthly spirit
Embody healing power and if unloved
These loveless souls die in captivity

A Drowned Sailor Sings To His Narwhal

Narwhal of antartic deep, trusty
heart my soul to reap, ferry last
my wet cold skin, cross the river
Styx of sin

And if you ask of me now gone,
enquiring where my light has shone,
speak them with salt-sea’s romance,
“He’s gone to prance the Narwhal’s
dance”

NARWHAL

        Nine noted naughty notorious Narwhals.
Active admirable acrobat anonymous aqua mammals.
Restless rowdy racers rolling on rocky shore.
Whimsical whinny women whales whistling wonderfully.
Haughty horny huge herculean was haply harpooned.
Alarming appearance of angry arctic animals.
Legendary Sea- Urchins leaped laughed loud.

Are You a Narwhal

Are You a Narwhal?

That large whale with a unicorn-like tusk,
Eating cod or halibut whenever it must,
Swimming around in small groups so cosy,
Clicking, whistling or knocking so noisy.

Are you a narwhal, jousting with others?
Animals are supposed to be configured as brothers;
Its protruding tooth, so obvious and offensive,
Reminds me of my potentiality to be abusive.

Do you joust with your neighbours, spar and contend,
That you’re more than them, yourself do you tend?
Do you stand on that invisible step that we all have,
Right beside us, all the time, to get one above?

Do you catch the other person out whenever you can?
Just for the kick and the thrill, yourself not to ban?
Do you stay with your own type, gather in small groups?
Do you trust only them so your clique has no loops?

Do you laugh in their face when they’re down and embarrassed?
Do you edify yourself with your own tales of piety harnessed?
Do you chide at the first thing you see not quite right?
Do you retain all your money, with charity are you tight?

Don't be a narwhal, just emulate their way,
That's also obvious to me on this day;
Strong, long and elegant, swimming away,
Rearing their young, keeping predators at bay.

Narwhal

Urban dictionary says "narwhal; an amazing, magical combination of a unicorn and whale"- oh ok,
I'm sure one can find beautiful things about a narwhal. The same way we find beautiful things in raindrops and matching sock. And like all beautiful things we write about there are always things that threaten the inhabitants of those thoughts implanted in our subconscious. There is something so personal about comparing ourselves to beautiful things and then pinning terrible things to the people that make us unbeautiful.
Like... I am a narwhal. And how I swim through my sea of thoughts, filled with colorful imagination. And how the only thing that makes me thankful for the Horn on my existence is you. Sleeping soundly in the oil spills that linger in my blowhole- despite the fact that the word "blowhole" is super unpoetic! Even more than the word super.
But that's how you make my little metaphorical narwhal heart feel! You're the one with the harpoon words and gallons upon gallons of wasteful, wishful thinking that you're better than me. GOD DIDNT GIVE A UNICORN HORN! HUH?! No that was ME!
