Premium Member Too Much Sadness For Me

there's too much sorrow...
don't you know
we are all going to die
a starting point always beckons a finish
sooner or later
no matter how
peaceful or painful
that final moment may be
you see...
it will come
for you
for me

There's too much sorrow
war
betrayal
so much I have seen
sickness sapping away
the mother-daughter moments
meant for me...
She struggled bravely
to set my fears free
But MS wouldn't let her be
My Mama left me

There is too much sorrow
the pain of being unloved
of trying to fit in
of trying to play the game
of success and fame
it all comes at a cost
so much is lost...
sacrificial moments
meant for family

There is too much sorrow
refugee misery
nowhere to be
no home
no destiny
just abject poverty
hearts left hungry
for a love
that the world
will not let them see

There is too much sorrow
tonight my heart is heavy
I'm tired of goodbyes
I'm tired of trying to fit in
I'm tired of pretense
I'm tired of...me

There is too much sorrow
Eyes are blurring
I can't see
the last lines I'm meant to write
Too tired to fight
Survival more than it's pumped up to be

Sleep....obliviousness of a dream
sweet it seems to me
you see...
There is too much pain
So write...
write for me
of happy
of make believe
of heaven
and eternity
of no pain
or misery
of no abuse
or fatality
of no tears
or cruelty
no more death
for you
no more death
for me
can't you see?

Write of happy...

Please, there is too much sadness here
for me....

Premium Member How Much of Life

How much of life do we catch
as we walk briskly past windows
     behind each a drama unfolding

How much of life do we miss
as we speed past tenements teeming
with primal emotions, like downed power lines
       alive with passion and angst

How much of life can we know as
       as we fly across continents
spanning time zones of populations divers
running the gamut from AI-creators and
manipulators to prep cooks, no-counts and killers

How much of life would have enriched us if attention were paid
to the windows on the journeys that you and I've made

Premium Member So Much About Living She Has Learned Since

Grit in her eyes beaming fortitude of vibes
Powers her dash from one end to the other
Handing out drinks: brandy, whiskey, beer;
Serving high rollers and surly poor-souls
Where lights are flashing as machines jingle
When luck adjudicates winners and losers.

Watch her essence of fiery determination
Fueling her steps, gathering her strength,
As she churns numbers quickly in her head:
Grocery, rent, money for mother’s meds;
And some she’ll spare for her father today.

Hurriedly she sprints when her shift ends
Examining faces torn by ills, unwell, hapless
Under the bridge, by the train station,
Recalling childhood’s happier days within
Sound of his soft voice, calling her princess.

Abruptly she freezes, recollecting the scene,
Standing like a milestone on edge of the street,
Lips quivering, eyes tearing, pausing to forgive him
For abandoning them in a reckless charade
When suddenly a child became a parent…

So much about living she has learned since,
But not much about how to bury the dead.

Premium Member How Much Do I Love Thee

How much do I love thee
Let me tabulate all the ways

I bought you a new Mercedes
	With gold plated tire rims
I bought you a humongous diamond ring
The size fit for all Royals and King
I bought you a store of the finest lingerie
Secrets still held at the door by decree
I bought you a garden of roses so red
My love was surely in bloom, or so they all said
I bought you a ticket to heavens pearly gates
So that in paradise you’d have not to even wait
I bought you your very own private Lear jet
To see the world through champagne eyes
My love was a vault and you emptied it dry
My heart has now learned to never cry

How much do you love me?
Your lawyer seems to know

You claimed mental duress
	Suffering under such stress
The Mercedes was the wrong color so I am told
I should have known, pink, not gold
The diamond ring was too heavy to wear
Your back injuries caused you painful despair
The lingerie didn’t cover you just right
So medical ailments kept you up many a nights
The roses in bloom where not the right flower
Your allergies they caused, thus making you sour
The ticket to heaven you plain out refused
Said it was one way, and that just wouldn’t do!
You had no issues riding my Lear jet
You rode the pilot as well, a mile high kinda bet
My love you tossed into the bin out in back
The divorce lawyer smiles at me, saying she sure is great in the sack

The moral of the Story is this!
If you are sitting at the table, and
You see a few beetles scurrying about
Maybe even whistling a tune or two
Listen carefully to what they say

Premium Member Too Much Sadness For Me- Video

I did a video of a poem that was Poem of the Week. Here is the link to the original poem.

http://www.poetrysoup.com/poem/too_much_sadness_for_me_711084

With all that is happening around us in the world today, I'm always reminded that a better day is coming....a day when there will be no more sorrow, mourning, sickness, or death. That day is coming soon. I believe it. Hope you enjoy the video. :)

The power within you is unique
if you are true to yourself
   Today closer to fine
   Navigating your inner self
   changing landscapes
shadow pages and the imprint of the past
   fear fake investors
The word had a different meaning
   than expected
   Today closer to fine

   It is possible
to rise again after a fall
   Today closer to fine
   Trauma and mental disorders
   let go of your expectations
   hidden patterns and habits
One step forward and two to the side
move slowly and regularly from side to side
Nobody cares if you can't dance well
   Reward yourself with positive affirmations
   Today closer to fine

I'M Too Much of a Giver and a Lover

"I'm too much of a giver and a lover"
-------------------------------------
It's not about defining the perfectness of me
For there is not more to what I can be
in which you expect of me
But to learn to accept this is all there is to me
and where I am in life is perfectly enough for me
I am no less nor more than what is need be
It's about defining how joyful my heart is
For it is filled with love in which I have for you
and hope to be satisfying to your fantasy of perfectionist
Your imagination of perfection is an illusion
You slay me and pressure me for something
I could never be
I am upon my max limit in endurance of your selfishness
But within my heart I love you too much to give you up
Because baby
I'm too much of a giver and a lover
That's defining perfection of love and sharing
For love is what makes us happiest of all
Nothing more... Smile!

Five fingers of joy
slyly, coyly burgles; he's
absconding with koi.
As you like it, as you wish;
carpe carpum: seize the fish!

Premium Member Can'T Take Much Mo

I could pound her head against a brick wall
or find some modicum of logic to install
but those would probably do no good at all
for she is filled with bitter anger and gall

Do these words portray someone you know
If I could change her attitude, I'd make it so
the world would have a much brighter glow
hold me back cuz I can't take much mo!

I've seen a few others who tried enlightening
but her mind is closed, her heart tightening
her audacity flashes like forked lightning
she's so churlish and stubborn, it's frightening

Time To Ponder This World And So Much More

Within dreams that this soul truly adores
Where mountain ridges highlight bright sun's glow
Green valleys below, lakes with sandy shores
Life content as blessed happiness pours-
Pathways that a true, sincere seeker treads
Lined with beautiful flowers shining bright
Gems dancing within Mother Nature's beds
In this earthly realm, a glorious sight.

Morning's promise, day with radiant rays
Time to ponder this world and so much more
All the better, if one will learn to pray
Eye opening deep truth, never a bore-
Such rich treasures are found, if one but looks
Beyond those tragic shadows this world casts
So much more to find, far beyond school books
Love's deep truth, richer life, that truly lasts.

Premium Member Too Much Pride

It either kills the person or gives them glory.
It has it’s own life and demands territory.
It is one of the seven most deadly sins.
Be very careful because it could make your life end.
It is the contrast of real inner strength.
It has a unforgettable smell with a stench.
Pride generates vanity and humility.
It reminds me of a Greek tragedy.
With that in mind I remain humble and meek.
But are proud men considered weak?
In a lot of religions pride is definitely forbidden.
It is a mask behind which low self-esteem are hidden.
Pride makes you unable to listen to others or to God's messages.
Some people have cockiness with smuggness as their self-righteousness.
They soon deny about having problems.
But by being so hardheaded and stubborn they can never solve them.
They need to shed their masks, which covers low self-esteem, a lack of self-
confidence, and a sense of insecurity.
Seek God and keep Jesus in your life to make you happy.

"Blessed is that man that makes the Lord his trust, and looks not to the proud,
nor to those that turn aside to lies." (Psalm 40:4)

Premium Member How Much For One Night

To kiss moist lips and taste their sweet desire
Then see the need, that want, through lust filled eyes
How quickly sparks ignite a night on fire
Flame so intense, it burns out at sunrise

The morning after comes with a disguise
Complete with attitude of "just be nice"
You flash a smile and paint him with white lies
One night of self indulgence has a price

How much will it cost you to roll the dice
What is the worth of one's own dignity
Or serve that dignity with bitter spice
And call the dish "unwanted pregnancy"

Be careful when you chance a little kiss
Most times blind Cupid shoots, his arrows miss

Premium Member How Much Longer Will It Go On

He was the child that did not smile, or live
or breath, towards his death he did not look
as though he had the time to duck and dive
he was taught to live or die by the book

Bruised and battered in a dishevelled state
hiding in corners wrapped only in tears
he, deprived of love, a child they did hate
starved of food, under the stairs, hiding fears

Then justice stepped in and took him away
to a home full of love, fun and laughter
in that tormented life he could not stay
as one so young he could not look after

He grew into a man without a care
Adopted a child, saved them from despair.

Shackled

Deprived of freedom then held as a slave
mental torture, in every race and creed
trapped in a void, while trying to be brave
inside looking out, a broken heart bleeds

Tormented, abused, while home is their jail
shunned by a partner and tainted with lies
no contact with friends including no mail
then pushed to the brink each day they despise

Whispered sweet nothings, then captured by love
charmed to the alter, their vows they both read
the cracks appear, as does a boxing glove
sentenced to life for an innocent deed

With prayer and patience they will be released
A living hell at the hands of a beast.

Premium Member Too Much Time Alone

If you come to find me
Look no further than you must
For I will be burning effigies
A conspiracy is afoot
Some might say I spend too much time alone
Too much time in the attic of my brain
I have fake conversations with myself
Some might say I spend too much time alone
I think they don’t understand me well enough to know
So call me a mad man.

The axe is buried deep and falls again and again
Wood chips fly as I hew the tree of death
I am working on commission
That’s right the agents are paying me
A coup d’état
To overthrow loneliness
I burn effigies of myself
Some might say I spend too much time alone

Ask me if I care.
Ask me if I can find my way home.
Ask me if the sewage is raw in my veins.
Ask me if I can crack the code of loneliness.
I dare you to ask me.

Some might say I spend too much time alone.
I can never have enough time alone.
It spares me the spirit of life with society.
I burn effigies.
Let the flags and cannonballs fly.
A war upon my soul will not stop me.
I'll ride a pack of dogs into the teeth of the storm
And rain down pain upon your shores
A coup d’état
A coup d’état

Will you finally come and spare me?
I doubt it.
I am not an anomaly
I am free to ramble in loneliness
It burns my flesh, flesh that is hard as gasoline
Underneath the muscle is sinuous and built for pain
Come save me if you must
I am not an anomaly
I just spend too much time alone…

Premium Member Your Touch Means So Much

Your Touch Means So Much

Your touch means so much to me my love,
As we hold each other with intense passion.
We know our love has God’s blessing above;
Our bond for eternity shall always be in fashion.

As we hold each other with intense passion,
We dazzle with emotion pure on this Earth.
Our bond for eternity shall always be in fashion,
As we approach our souls’ nexus of rebirth.

We dazzle with emotion pure on this Earth.
We know our love has God’s blessing above,
As we approach our souls’ nexus of rebirth.
Your touch means so much to me my love.
