One hand on steering
The other hand steering beloved's knee,
One ear on cell phone,
The other ear listening to loud music,
One foot on accelerator,
The other on the brake.

Eyes on female pedestrians,
If a waving hand is seen for a lift
Stop the car, pile up freely
The more, the merrier
Conversation with someone in the car
Well I declare, welcome to India!

Come One, Come All

Ringing jingle bells, the winter fairy called "Gather 'round,
gather round" to all populating the winter fairy land.
The land used to be dry and cracked and made up of sand,
But Frosty the Snowman made it snow,
Santa Claus built a toy factory and made the land glow.
Building toys, lighting up children's hearts -
That was the beginning - the very change and start.
Winter fairy said to all - "it is Christmas soon -
the more the merrier - come one to hear, come all!"
She rattled off "the evergreens need trimming" -
but all the fairies were in the hot springs playing and swimming.
She rattled off, "the toys need wrapping,
but all the snow elves were napping!
She was about to give up when Santa came on his sled
with sleigh bells a'ringing - he started off the Christmas anthem
song - he started singing.
The Christmas spirit awoke within all -
The more the merrier - come one to celebrate, come all!

Old Edgar a Poe My Kin

Since I'm kin to Edgar Allen Poe
I like for Halloween to cause much woe.
Out in the streets they're dressed up.
And with all their crimes they corrupt.
The more the merrier, I say let them go!

I swing my pendulum everyday.
Those who are wise better get out of my way.
     Consider the dead
     Even some in their bed.
Needs to get out on this day and play!

In the graveyard the zombies are restless.
In the cave tops the bats wings getting stressless.
     They're ready to play
     On this Halloween day.
When they finish tonight they'll be guestless!!!!!

The Dill, of course, are here now, but I fear
the Sour will be coming in about an hour.
They’ll arrive with relatives – those Half Sour.

Pickles straight from India have come. One’s Lime.
The other – Mango – likes a real good time.

The Polish too are here, resembling Kosher.
The difference is the Polish just seem gaucher.
Like wall flowers they sit. They need attention!
I know the perfect ones to ease the tension -
The ones to welcome everyone - the Sweet.
See them mingle with the Polish that they meet!

Pickled Pepper’s here using his old line
of “picked a peck.” I think too long in brine
that one’s been sitting. Kosher thinks that’s great,
though we wish his garlic breath would abate!

The odd one here’s Cinnamon. It’s not Christmas yet!
Well, the more the merrier. But whoever let
*the Kool Aids in? This party’s not for kids.
Jarred Pickles, seeing this, have flipped their lids!

I hope the Sours don’t ruin our celebration
coming from their salty fermentation.
This party will be anything but hellish
for Gherkin’s here along with one Sweet Relish!

Premium Member Changing Our Attitude

A foggy morning with dreary overtones
Can cause the spirit to spiral downward
Eliciting slow-moving, guttural groans
A foggy morning with dreary overtones,
It makes us feel like decrepit, old crones
Roadblocks in the way of moving forward,
A foggy morning with dreary overtones
Can rapidly spiral the spirit downward.

Roadblocks in the way of moving forward
Can seem like an insurmountable barrier
Sometimes it’s difficult to look upward
Roadblocks in the way of moving forward
Should make us immediately fast-forward
To see the future through a smile-carrier
Roadblocks in the way of moving forward
Can seem like an insurmountable barrier.

To see the future through a smile-carrier
Ditch the blasé and change your attitude,
Look upward beyond any limiting barrier
To see the future through a smile-carrier,
An attitude like “the more the merrier,”
Instead of carping, face the day in gratitude
To see the future through a smile-carrier,
Ditch the blasé and change your attitude.

The Best Medicine

Creative writing is for those
who like to make us ponder,
their meanings can be hidden,
cause our feeble minds to wonder,
esoteric pieces puzzle,
leave us with uneasy feelings,
better that we entertain
and trash the doubts and double dealings.

Humor is the best medicine,
limericks are sure to please,
especially when we're mired and stuck,
and need to set our minds at ease.
I have written words... O jeez!
just cast your eyes on my 'Ennui,'
a twentieth century group of deadbeats,
not soulful creatures just like you and me!

So I will try from hereon out
to enrich this happy place,
indulge my failing sense of humor
fill you up with style and grace.
Are belly laughs permissible?
you bet, the more the merrier,
I will test your funny bone,
so you'd better WATCH THIS SPACE!

Haiku Had a Hibiscus

Haiku Hibiscus
Did prove to be fictitious
We shall sorely miss.

He took off the shelf
Mountain of knowledge and wealth
Said here's to your health

More the merrier
Read more are you really sure
That you can endure.

If I did startle
Wiggling wearing my gardle
Girdle or garble.

Was all for the birds
Flying in schools and not herds
Singing without words.

Bird is a mocking
Sings without any talking
And could be shocking.

My ribs soon did split
After I heard all of it
Pants also into.

Poems to be perfect
Need I be much more direct
Must reach and connect.

Am a hiakuer
With mind now in the sewer
More then can endure.

Later will go on
When you believe once upon
Did come true to life.

Premium Member The More, the Merrier

One is one, the fun has begun
Two is a kitty cat's mew

Three is glee, you and me
Four is more, giggles galore

Five is alive, we all thrive
Six is a mix of funny pics

Seven is heaven; so is eleven
Eight is great; really first-rate

Nine is fine, pure sunshine
Ten is a friend ~ a true Godsend

Premium Member The Introvert

The more the merrier, or so some say,
But I really prefer just me, myself, and I
Enjoying the solitude all alone today
The more the merrier, or so some say,
Solitaire is the game I most like to play
An introvert through and through, I sigh,
The more the merrier, or so some say,
But I really prefer just me, myself, and I.

Sunshine Embraces My Soul

Each day the hot sunshine embraces my soul
Breaks through the darkness black as coal
As it shines mystic sounds float all about
In the background angels sing and shout

The more the merrier says the mystic host
She celebrates the Sun's light and toasts
Such beauty revealed for man to celebrate
A dawn molded to enhance mankind's fate

Each day blue-sweet sky dances to decorate
man's garden set to feed our redemption date
Woods and green pastures upon earthy ground
singing happiness and love within mystic sound

Marvel we at sky filled with clouded , dazzling gems
Hidden spirits sing praising God in harmonious hymns

Robert J. Lindley, 08-15-2014

This morn the sun showed,
 the rooster crowed,
dog found his bone,
I paid homage I owed,
Past life lived, now gone.....

Best Face Forward

‘Put your best foot forward’, old hat
Now ‘Put your best face forward’
The more, the merrier
Isn’t it so Dear?
As if like Demon King, Ravana
You had ten faces
“Ten?”
More than ten
A face for every occasion
But then
‘The best one’
Reserved
‘Reserved for whom?’
Not for you
Not for me
But
That narcissistic selfie
And then to wallow in
‘Likes’
Oh! Don’t be stupid
Not that so yesterday
‘I like you’
But this so modern
‘Everybody likes me’
‘Like’- that abstract feeling
Has suddenly become countable
But then
These likes
Come with a condition
‘You like me’
And then, in turn
‘I like you’
A perfect
‘Give and take’
For all those
On-line friends’ sake
Now amongst the race
For these likes
Where is the real you?
Suffocating beneath
The mound of ‘likes’
‘Phew’!
But why should it bother you
Your life
Dependent on your face
And your face
Dependent on others’ ‘likes’
So, please continue on
Put your best face forward
There’s nothing called ‘Real’
In this fictitious world
So, why should you alone be bothered?

Life On Earth

Is it too late to ask to be unbirthed?
Born into a world of greed, selfishness and fame
brings me no honour as I am without any yet
need to have in order to live
Unnecessary pressure
Can my mother unbirth me, please?
Am I here to be a doorknob, welcome mat
or shoulders to cry on?
Shoulders, yes, the more the merrier right?
Drowning whilst having to breathe another day
caught between their misconceptions,
perceptions and perspectives
none of it brings me closer to hope
Hope for my own validations,
ambitions or identification
of my own sexuality
Like I don't have my own issues?!
Excuse me if I adult cry
Every other time
Excuse me if I have to lash out
Sometimes you need to leave me out!
Get out!
Somebody, help before I pray to be
Unbirthed alive

~ (~) ~ ... "another Happy Hour... !" ... ~ (~) ~

I desire as it is still-my quiet-longing as it is as well I believe my right to be as honest, yes to
lust for it together with you from here to here on after, for peace; and as I do-as you do too I
would presume — if you are able to look yourself to know it in the eyes of one another to be
a certain struggle that is all-together one in the same — you'll see it too whether today you
can bring yourself to fully conceive-it-or-not... ." (~) ~

~ (~) "Yes today I can find no difference, except for on what that given day may be...

or bring." (~) ~

~ (~) "Because the more the merrier I used to say, spend spend spend spent, not to worry
there's another paycheck on the way;

but there's never enough when you truly want it or need I often-think... ! (~) ~

~ (~) Because just as derelict I am as-much-fruitless from time to time as it is righteous,
because moneys will-come-as-they go, it's Okay though, I truly don't mind that-it-came from-
the-broken, and always-tired-back, yes this-simple and-ever driven-soul-that-I-bare; can
dare;

and so when I digress today I just move-to-terry... . (~) ~

~ (~) Round and round and round we go again today whether working with a hangover or
gritting my teeth with my worried mind watching the clock tick-tock-tick ticking-away-towards
quitting-time, and a brighter hour;

yes another happy hour... !" (~) ~
