I Never Had the Chance

I never had the chance
To hear you talk
Our time ran out
Before you could walk.

You were born with wings
A sign we knew
That the man upstairs
Would soon come for you.

They laid you in my arms
And I quietly mourned
For my dark haired angel
That I had born.

I never had the chance
To see your eyes
He took you away
With no time for good byes.

I think of you often
And wonder why
I never had the chance
To hear your first cry.

You were a special little girl
An enchanting rose
The moment I held you
Our time suddenly froze.

I never had the chance
To watch you grow
Or hear your laugh
As we played in the snow.

I never had the chance
To give you a mother’s love
But I know you’re always there
Watching over me from above.

Take Time

Take time to show
The people around you that you care
Time is an unpredictable force
When you turn around there’s no one there.

Take time to hear
Each story from the past
Handed down through generations
They must be shared in order to last.

Take time to see
The stranger standing next to you
A friend wears many faces
Only prejudice blocks the view.

Take time to listen
To what your child has to say
The clock is ticking swiftly
Tomorrow they’ll be going their own way.

Take time to ponder
The path you have followed through the years
Your mistakes became your teacher
As your courage was born from your fears.

Take time to feel
The cool grass beneath your bare feet
Life is a precious gift
Each day is a momentous treat.

Say Goodbye

I seen your face
 I felt your embrace
And it just wasn't the same
I finally walked away without lookin' back to call out your name

Once you were my best friend
Once I swore I'd be yours to the end

But I guess its time to say goodbye
Many of times you have clipped my wings but now its time for me to fly
I still remember all the drunken fights
I still remember all the sad lonely nights
 It was constant infedlity
My only prayer was to be set free

Thats not a place a girl can call home
Life is better when I'm out on my own

Sleepin' in alleys, living off dumpster buffets, and seeking dope
Stealing and lying is no longer my only hope

I won't fall for what you have to say
I refuse to cry for you today
I have come so far and moved onto something more
Life is better than ever before

But I guess its time to say goodbye
Many of times you have clipped my wings but now its time for me to fly

The Time Has Come

The time has come for me to
show just who I can really be,
no more keeping it all locked up,
let it out for the world to see.

The time has come to face the
fact,I need to take a stand,
become more independent,
without someone to hold my hand.

The time has come to realize, why
I need to stay,I have to keep my
faith and take things day by day.

The time has come to take a stand
and do things on my own,to
cross the line and not be afraid to
face the great unknown.

The time has come to make the
change and put things in the past,
do all the things I want to do,
and feel free at last.

The Last Goodbye

The time has come to bid farewell
To all these earthly toils and cares
To nobler heights the soul impels
The time has come to bid farewell
And join the angels where they dwell
Now comes the climb up Jacob's stairs
The time has come to bid farewell
To all these earthly toils and cares.

The Time Has Come

Though the time has come
To say good bye
The bond we share
Will never die.

You were my friend
Yet so much more
You walked on two
I ran on four.

You touched my heart
And made me feel
A simple love
I knew was real.

You blessed my life
With your loving care
And when I needed you most
You were always there.

I want you to know
That I’m still here
I live in your heart
And I’m always near.

I’m the warm sun
Brightening your day
I’m the gentle breeze
Chasing your blues away.

My spirit is a snowflake
Dancing to the ground
You can feel my presence
In the silence all around.

Though the time has come
To say good bye
I continue to live
In the vast blue sky.

This poem was written for a very special Rottweiler named Nakita, who touched the hearts of
many with her beautiful smile and strong attitude. Due to cancer, on October 30, 2009 her
owners were forced to make that dreadful decision. Having had to make that dreadful
decision myself back in 1998, I felt their pain and wrote this poem. I then placed placed the
poem on a picture of Nakita in photoshop. I blew the picture poem up to an 8x10 and gave
it to Nakita's owners. It was a gift that made them cry, but also touched their hearts!

THE PASSING OF TIME

It was a warm April day, early in Spring
My mind sharply aware of everything
I heard the buzz of a bee on new spring flowers
I heard birds chirping – I listened for hours

I heard the whine of a small plane in the blue
And thought, for a moment, I'd like to fly too
As my thoughts soar along on this beautiful day
I blinked, only once, and then it was May

I marveled at this and knew only too soon
That in the twinkling of an eye, it would be June
How quickly time flies when we look at events
We wonder and ponder just where the time went

There suddenly seems to be a chill in the air
The leaves have fallen – the trees are all bare
We gather the family for Thanksgiving Day
And know that Christmas is not far away

But what's that I hear, as my thoughts start to spin
It's that bee in the flowers buzzing again
Where did the time go? I ask myself
I wish I could keep it in a box on a shelf

But time marches on, and days fly away
And we must realize that time cannot stay
Each day can not be the same as the last
There's a future beyond us and a time that has passed

As you're reading these words, written some time ago
There's something I wish you all to know
On earth, time will end for you and for me
But in Heaven with our Lord, it's for eternity

Cross Over

You wait for the moment
you give yourself back to yourself
and recognize it.
Take notice of its soft whisper,
Before now you could not make out
amongst the screams that took control
Only this time your eyes open
For the first time
and cross over.
Your heart speaks loud
After a long silence
and you hear it clear.
It greets you,
lifts up its hands
And welcomes you
"I remember you"
It whispers.

When You

When you think you can't, That's the time you can

When you are full of hate, that's the time to love

When you are raged with anger, that's the time to be cheerful

When you want to cry, that's the time to laugh

When you are faced with a nightmare, that's the time to dream

When you are sick, that's the time to feel well

When you are sad, that's the time to be happy

When you feel bad, that's the time to feel good

When you have nothing, that's the time to feel abundance

When you are fearful, that's the time for courage

When you feel weak, that's the time to be strong

When you have doubt, that's the time to believe

When you can master this concept, that's the time to LIVE!!!!

Premium Member Welcome To My Holiday Home

Hospital wards and waiting rooms do not take holiday breaks
When a loved one is so seriously ill it is hard to celebrate
So bravely he said in the ICU family room as strangers all drew near:
“Welcome to my Holiday Home at this special time of year.”

Some were visiting fathers whom had hearts that had given out
Some had little children there and their faith was left in doubt
He was there to be with his wife, the woman he held so dear –
“Welcome to my Holiday Home at this special time of year.”

“I know that I know none of you and I hope I am not being rude;
And I know the decorations in here really are awfully crude;
But I thought it might just help a little to bring some Christmas in here –
Welcome to my Holiday Home at this special time of year.”

They shared handshakes and hugs and told some wonderful stories
About the loved ones they were visiting and hopes of future glories
Some stress was released and strangers helped wipe each other’s tears –
“Welcome to my Holiday Home at this special time of year.”

Doctors dropped in and nurses, too, to pass along some news
Knowing that this was no place to be if anyone could choose
They saw people who once were strangers all now family, quite clear –
“Welcome to my Holiday Home at this special time of year.”

As the season came to an end some of the patients did go home
Unfortunately for others there they would leave the hospital alone
But everyone forever remembered the husband who met them with this cheer –
“Welcome to my Holiday Home at this special time of year.”

Awake

awake, it has risen, awake!
it is time to make and take
it is time to think and be
Take it now for a robe
before the world rises to bake

Just One Day

I want to be Cinderella
For just one day
Live in an enchanted castle
And dance the night away.

I want to feel lucky
For just one day
Buy a lotto ticket
And win the big play.

I want to visit Belize
For just one day
Dive into the ocean
And watch the dolphins play.

I want to listen
For just one day
Spend time with my children
And really hear what they say.

I want to completely stop
For just one day
Enjoy life’s treasures
And take time to pray.

I want to be an angel
For just one day
Bring someone a blessing
Then mysteriously slip away.

I want to be a writer
For just one day
Touch someone’s heart
In an extraordinary way.

I want to soar like an eagle
For just one day
An icon of freedom
Inspiring the American way.

The Time Is Now

THE TIME IS NOW

Reminiscing of the past, how long will you spend getting nowhere fast?

Day dreaming of your future events, how much time, will you have spent?

The time is NOW, what can you do?

The time is NOW, to make your dreams come true

The time is NOW, for you to take control

The time is NOW, for an upward roll

The time is NOW, to make a stand

The time is NOW, to reach your promised land

The time is NOW, to live your desire

The time is NOW, you can transpire

The time is NOW, to aim for your goal

The time is NOW, to be kind to your soul

The time is NOW, you can achieve, any great thought, you can conceive

The time is NOW, that you should act

The time is NOW, to make your life exact

The time is NOW, and only NOW, you can act upon great thoughts

The time is NOW, and only NOW, you can do, all that you ought

The time is NOW, and only NOW, that you can be your best

The time is NOW, and only NOW, you can create, your own SUCCESS!!!
