Changing Our Attitude

A foggy morning with dreary overtones Can cause the spirit to spiral downward Eliciting slow-moving, guttural groans A foggy morning with dreary overtones, It makes us feel like decrepit, old crones Roadblocks in the way of moving forward, A foggy morning with dreary overtones Can rapidly spiral the spirit downward. Roadblocks in the way of moving forward Can seem like an insurmountable barrier Sometimes it’s difficult to look upward Roadblocks in the way of moving forward Should make us immediately fast-forward To see the future through a smile-carrier Roadblocks in the way of moving forward Can seem like an insurmountable barrier. To see the future through a smile-carrier Ditch the blasé and change your attitude, Look upward beyond any limiting barrier To see the future through a smile-carrier, An attitude like “the more the merrier,” Instead of carping, face the day in gratitude To see the future through a smile-carrier, Ditch the blasé and change your attitude.

Attempting to see the good side of every perceived negative situation and trying to derive reason from it is a step closer to peace--Anaya Such an attitude as you describe, brings like minds together and so it serves a purpose, (I use it to probe into their minds). We can't change one's dyed-- in-the-wool attitude. Great dedication, Milt

Thanks, Anaya. I do try, however. Uh, we can't change anyone else's, but we can change ours if we work on it. I've change my mind and attitude about some rather important issues over the years.

A positive attitude is a welcomed mindset. Even if the world around you is collapsing. We can choose what to do with the actions that bring us down. Making lemonade when having lemons. I turn to my Lord for comfort Milton he surely helps me get by. Wonderful encouragement written here my friend. Thank you for posting Milton, enjoy the rest of your evening, I hope your arthritis has diminished ...

I had a very fine day, Michael. Thanks so much for your thoughtful and thought-provoking comment on my poem. I really appreciated it. Yes, "We CAN choose what to do with the actions that bring us down." And, I believe, failure to do so can bring on serious depression and worsening problems.

A positive attitude always makes everything seem brighter. It's like flipping a switch from dark to light. But having an attitude of doom and gloom, knocking others for what they do and/or what they believe is the mark of an unhappy person. More's the pity for one as miserable as that. There's the cliche' "Misery loves company," but I choose not to be in the company of a grim and glum person.

Right on target, Jenna. I feel exactly the same way. In fact, those kinds of people are very toxic, and I really can do without them in my life.
