Best Milky Poems
Now I’m ninety solar masses and I grow as I accrete
all the inter-stellar gasses near my neighbors when we meet.
My doctor says I’ve grown too fat too fast, “… it’s unsustainable!”
But I’ve big plans for a big blast that I know is attainable:
I’ll do the Supernova Bossa Nova, watch me when I blow.
Let’s do the Supernova Bossa Nova and host a cosmic show
for galaxies both near and far, a dazzling dance display,
and I’ll blow a smoke ring where we are here in the Milky Way.
My hydrogen will all convert and soon I will implode,
that's inward, I’m an introvert, but watch my shell explode.
My core will keep on shrinking ‘til a blackhole is created,
a wormhole linking to a world where dance is venerated.
We’ll do the Supernova Bossa Nova, watch me when I blow.
You can blame the Bossa Nova but let’s all enjoy the show!

When you are alone you are all your own. ~Leonardo da Vinci
the Milky Way that rises like a sea fret
forging a way amongst the infinite stars
draws inspiration from the souls gone before
alone
I’m my own master
to thy
I will soon return
refreshed
Each night I peruse the sky
Tilt my head way up high
Count the stars here and nigh
As if secrets to demystify
My heart it seeks to pacify
I search beyond each constellation
When sense in my heart primal agitation
And my pulse beats with acceleration
Because it’s there, the object of my aspiration
Right there before my eyes, my heart do console
I get to see you and talk to you as I stroll
Because I’ve recognized your essence, your soul
Larger than life, looking down on me, glory be
I still feel, though now angel-like, you embracing me
There is life after death, you are the Milky Way
Elated, I feel light and serene as a heavenly butterfly
Seek no further answers or dare question divination
Blissfully content to finally feel whole
Knowing you are here and there to perpetuity
Because there is life after death, you are the Milky Way

Upon a beach of silken sand,
neath nighttime's wondrous skies
Stars aglow of heavens hand,
soft moon beams fill your eyes
With gentle seas awash the shore,
the scent of ocean wind
A shooting star our smiles explore,
as dreams once more begin
Now glistening on waters blue,
a hypnotizing light
Illuminates this love so true,
I feel for you this night
In solitude of gentle flow,
the touch of fingertips
A canopy of evening glow,
my kiss upon your lips
This universe is ours to hold,
amongst the stars we'll play
Of secrets now our hearts have told,
beneath the Milky Way
Then:
Desire enveloped us,
stoking fierce passions,
beneath a milky moon,
your abandoned kisses,
left me breathless,
under a starlit sky,
love silenced our nights,
a serene peace settling,
filling empty desolation,
at rest at long last,
your presence my final abode,
each caress rich with hope.
Now:
your absence is felt,
each day, every night,
throttling my dreams,
crawling inside a void,
my crumbling heart weary,
knowing you may never return,
all promises lay strewn,
like quiet wilting flowers,
brushing against my thoughts,
defeated by your love,
my tortured breathing,
is shallow, agonising, slow,
each memory a jagged ache,
knowing you left,
a thousand moons ago.
At night the sky
Becomes an entire new world
To the human eye
The moon
Sometimes as round as a soccer ball
Appears as it begins to get dark
A million tiny bright lights
Called stars
Appear like specks of dust
Out of nowhere
And soon I am outdoors
Observing the planets like mars
And also the Milky Way galaxy
With my trustworthy telescope
Aperture of rock
Fixed upon the Milky Way
Open forever.
Mysterious, vast collection of stars
Intriguing your curiosity, no more than a marvelous band of light
Lighting up the inky sky of the night
Killing smaller galaxies, colliding into them and tearing them apart
Years grouped in billions go by as stars die and new ones are born
Whizzing around it are the Large and Small Clouds of Magellan
And it is huge, like a giant white whirlpool of light in the ocean of darkness
Years, 3 billion before its dramatic end, colliding with the Andromeda galaxy
My pet black cat looks so fat,
He's always drinking milk,
He says he only drinks so much,
To make his hair shine like silk,
Personally I think he's fibbing,
I think he's just a greedy cat,
If he'd only reduce his intake,
He'd still look shiny, but not so fat.
In years gone by before the web
we had an advert on TV
it featured the milky bar kid
his slogan was 'milky bars are on me'
This kid just loved chocolate
but especially the white kind
they were so smooth and creamy
bringing a relaxed state of mind
Nowadays you get variety of sizes
chunky, large, medium and small
they taste just great
but you know that's not all
The milky bar kid had a song
it was a great sing a long
so get your milky bar
the best choc by far

the milky Way
As the moon waxed gibbous
over imitating ponds and lakes,
the night sky’s pearly necklace,
of milk which no thirst will slake -
draws a line of human history -
intrigue leading to discovery,
a depth to be plumbed,
as the human mind pondered
and thought – deduced!
and as science brought the stars so near -
to be seen and studied and mapped,
the human mind lost focus here
on a vague randomness, adapt
how sad, the mind of humankind;
a mind with so much potential!
how sad that the clearer it sees
the more it loses perspective!

Without a telescope Galileo Galilei could have not
discovered all of Jupiter's dwarf moons orbiting around it;
don't we breathlessly behold the different colors of lovely Venus?
Mars, Pluto, Moon and Jupiter are unbelievably stupendous!
Amazing is the Milk Way's position in its celestial boundary,
we know that there are other shining galaxies bigger than ours
and they constantly sparkle with a radiance unlike stars;
spot them on a night without fog or clouds: they are groovy!
I have done star-gazing only for spiritual reasons:
the splendor of our enormous universe had a beginning...
before complete darkness covered its deep void so frightening,
but the Creator's grand concept revealed the glorious brightness!
Whoever does not admire this bright spectacle of nocturnal delight,
never believed in the Divine Power that conquers any pure heart!

Look up into the Milky Way
Streaming down the sky to the bay
Connected by sea to Skara Brae.
Do those ruins contain some clay?
On that faraway land, are there any dogs stray?
If I go there, will a beautiful girl be coming,
Serving me coffee with a splendid tray
On a sunny, refreshing day?
Will the girl be pretty enough to give me an impression
That strikes me as if with a fresh water spray?
Then, will I be filled with such deep emotion
That makes me shout, "Yay"?
Will I be stunned, having nothing to say?
Or will I start dancing as in ballet?
