Best Melody Poems
Your face
is a love song
of exquisite and matchless appeal
Your eyes
a duet of violin and cello
sonorous, deep
Your hair
an orchestra of euphonious instruments
playing in cohesive harmony
Your smile
a fantasia
of unearthly delight
Your teeth
a legato line of 32nd notes
in a concerto played to perfection
Your hands
a conductor’s baton
emoting wordlessly
Your voice
a rhapsody
of supernal joy
Your heart
a sumptuous lyric
a poetic paragon
Your soul
a sacred oratorio
set apart and holy
You are a sinuous melody
I can’t get out of my head
…nor will I ever wish to
Written 1 Mar 2020
In dreams of yonder, wishes wistfully conceive,
A cradle of lost tomorrows, where shadows sway;
To a realm unseen, where hearts believe,
Past where twilight’s lulling lullabies lay,
A world where reverie and reality secretly play.
Through the veil of verity…
…Aisling nocturnally creates,
Mountains of moonlight, rivers of rhyme,
A world untouched by changing tides and capricious fate.
In this land, where we lose track of all time,
A place where voices harmonize; oh, so surreal, so sublime.
A city of silence, a forest of fears,
The cloud-kissed towers, an ocean of sorrow,
Beneath twilight's gentle, silent tears.
An ephemeral world free of yesterdays and tomorrow,
A dreamscape unfolding where sleep freely borrows.
A tremor runs through castle walls,
A sigh escapes the forest deep,
Twilight's tears turn into calls
Of roosters waking from their sleep.
The ocean's sorrow shimmers pale
A canvas primed for sun's first brush.
The mountains, caught in morning's veil
Dissolves to silence, whispers hush.
As a new dawn dances
the dream dissipates
The illusion shatters
reality reinstates.
For the land was an Elysium delight
A mere mirage in the moonlit night.
Dissolving in dawn's delicate dance
…like a mist in morning sacred light.
Fading Starlight sifts through leaves, painting emerald shadows on the ground.
Lost in the morning's mellowness,
a sigh escapes,
the dream departs,
unrenown…
Though dawn reclaims the waking world,
a yearning in my heart resides,
For Elysium's lost melody,
where time and sorrow gently subside.
We are a Melody,
We are what no one can see.
We sing together in perfect harmony,
We rise and fall,
Our souls are big but sometimes small.
The evils haven't caught us all.
Not many of us are left,
Over the ones who perished we have wept.
But we knew the cards we were dealt,
We won't stumble when we look into the eyes of death.
Hand and hand,
We will always sing to the hearts of man.
Untill the very last of our days.
We each made a commitment,
The fears we have makes us stand no different.
To all we may seen forgotten,
Some of us are still remembering the ones who have fought with them,
Remembering when they caught them.
And killed them while they were still singing,
They died for us....so we could continue our purpose among the living.
Along the shadows of the buildings,
Along the Street,
That's where we will be.
We are a melody,
We are ones you can not see.
I was submerged in
an ocean
of rants,
hiding the sparkles
of my
poetic
planktons.
My meaningless
phrases
that meant
everything,
but
nothing and anything
at the same time.
Yet I found
mermaid melodies
from idyllic waves,
placed
with love
in my heart,
by a
mystical angel
worlds apart,
that felt like home
in so many forms,
when bitter reality
was
crashing
and
thrashing,
my bones with no
mercy or empathy.
Although twin flames
reignited
lost romance,
against every tide of
redolent rhymes
and measured meters,
as couplets destined
to be sweethearts.
In a world
of untold
words
and expressions,
we scribbled
sensual senryu,
and silver sonnets,
along lilac lines
of lavender shadows
where ebony fingers
intertwined to devise,
cryptic potions of
pearlescent personifications,
and
harlequin haiku
as well as
ethereal etherees,
where hourglass nonets
bleed
amethyst alliterations,
forever composing
floral choruses
whilst healing through
free verse
with strawberry musings,
on a sandbank
where islanders
rendered
ravishing runes,
dripping on
chocolate reveries,
about soulmates
that sheltered their
love in
an
oyster
shell.
Compose a melody of all that makes you strong.
First, sing it for yourself; then give the world your song.

A saddening song swishes subtly in the bitter breeze,
Mad mournful music meets me everywhere I move,
Like a dolorous dirge drumming through the dark;
Wistful winds wearily bring to mind stinging salt drops,
All energy expended in trying to make sense of this forlorn fusion
As a painfully pensive psalm is penned down
in the ragged remnants of war...

Dew, to Dawn, to Dusk, to Dust: (pause)
A sacred cycle turns while love endures.
At dawn's first light for I am beside you.
Where my soul finds peace and rest
In your presence there are fears, like fallen leaves.
Are truly comforted and blessed.
Within your eternal heart,
My love's fervent quest finds its crest;
My Love, you are a blossom kissed -
by morning's dew.
Your grace is conveyed to many
each passing day.
Your smile is a sunrise chasing
nightmares away.
Your smile dispells shadows where darkness...
once held sway.
You color the silence with gentle care on
this our special day!
For in your kind eyes I do see
a love that forever reflects.
Refrain: With every single touch as our love story unfolds,
Through God-given years our tender care enfolds.
Your hand in mine as the promise that endures
A love that deepens like a softly spoken prayer.
Even when wrinkles trace their stories on our skin,
Our love’s fair flame shall never dim,
Our bond unbroken, a love we’ll always bear.
Through trials faced with faith as our guiding star,
Your spirit burns. A beacon ever steadfast and true.
For together we will walk on wings of hope as one. /
How firm our foundation, forever fresh and
forever blessed.
Within your arms your are my haven-
where peace sees me through.
Refrain: A vow so silent and holy blossoms in the hush
of daybreak's kiss.
For you are my lifetime and each moment a sacred bliss.
Your laughter's song such a melody as sweet.
As birdsong at dawn that chases doubt away. (pause)
With you my world is a Flourishing Garden.
You a love so pure that lights up
each and every day.
With every beat of my heart... slow murmurs:
"You're my beautiful and my cherished wife," (pause)
"forever true."
I know that when twilight writes
its final fading verse.
And earthly treasures crumble to dust.
Our love is a promise unwavering,
An eternal bond,
for in faith we always trust.
Hand in hand, heavensward, ascending.
It’s been two years, three months, and twenty days
since tender music left my life for good
and turned my days to somber shades of grey
which left a shadow where a man once stood.
The faded notes of yesterday’s duets
still echo in the canyons of my soul,
and leaves a longing, tempered with regrets,
that never sings the songs that made us whole.
She left behind unfinished rhapsodies,
and crossed the bridge into eternal life;
but here behind, without the melodies,
I’m missing tender music of my wife.
As death’s cruel hand has stolen all my dreams,
my songs have turned to tears, and tears to streams.

A melody from yesteryear
Plays softly on the wind--
A mix of myrrh and honey,
A wistful sweet and bitter blend.
Fond memories of bygone days,
Of long departed friends.
Of hollyhocks and lilacs,
A reverie that never ends.
A vision of a one-room school
Set in a woodland glade--
Of children playing joyfully
There in a spreading oak tree's shade.
A farmer toiling in his field
Behind a horse and plow.
No air conditioned tractors
As modern farmers do it now.
A rustic, weathered, country church,
A Sunday morning bright
Glows fondly now in memory,
Bathed in nostalgia's hallowed light.
A barefoot boy with fishing pole
Beside a lazy stream.
A song in perfect harmony
Played in that golden summer dream.
Oh memories, sweet memories
Locked in my soul to stay.
Oh melody, sweet melody,
A haunting song of yesterday.
Love plays different melodies..
Music to which lovers respond..
Instrumental, is the harp,
the flute, and the drum.
Listen with your ears, for
your heart may skip a beat
.
Listen with your eyes,eyes will
always see.
Hear with your whole being,
the melody of love.
The Drum will beat out
warnings..
As the harp beckons
to you,.."come"!!
The flute will calm a
distressed soul...
But only the melody of unity
can strike that blessed chord.
Unity and passion can
fulfill the empty soul.
While the melody of love
unheard, is sad.
Opened ears will make songs glad....
When we move our feet together,
our hearts will dance in unison
If we hear love’s melody
with unguarded hearts -
To the love we shall sub-come.
We contemplate the music
of loves sweet refrain.
Together we make music
of melodious adoration,
As our creator's love
has no limitations.
You whistle the same
bars and measures.
As I lay and calmly hum.
We be tuned as one-
We become
as a symphony,
to which our
heartstrings strum.
The Melody of Spring
The pat, pat, pat of tears from icicles
Falling on the breast of Mother Earth
Are music to my ears.

A melody
is a fairy
flying across the lake at dusk
making its magic rain
on the water
causing the tides to break and gently flow
in random, but elegant patterns
to create new lullabies
that have never been written
notes of melody
trail along sunlit garden...
birds wake up flowers
through dawn's gentle rise
wings caress velvet tulips ...
humming birth of leaves

Richard Lamoureux's Beginnings Matter
--- since i was in the thick of writing haiku
and composing nature poems upon
joining soup,i felt excited to share this piece.
If You Were A Melody
You would twirl around, in a diamond gown.
You would sip pink tea under a tulip tree.
You would live in a castle of fairy dust, and in my love, you would always trust.
You would hold my hand under a stardust moon and whistle to me a quiet tune.
You would dance on tiptoe through warm melting snow
to tell me secrets only you should know.
You would play George Gershwin's Rhapsody In Blue. Your favorite color,
... elegant blue.
You would float like the lilies at Giverny, and to my heart, you would hold a key.
