John, I see from your comment to Connie that this is a tribute to your wife, Janet. Lovely! Your word choice is remarkable. Your words are sinuous, your poem is visually sinuous, and the illustration you chose is perfect. Congratulations on your win on Mile 2 of my 2022 Poetry Marathon contest. Mile 3 has already started!

Of course, I had to read this love poem, (from your list of 10 poems that define you...).. Indeed, your amorous pen reveals your romantic heart, John. This is metaphorically beautiful. Your musical imagery of loving adoration is swoon-worthy. Such a passionate tribute to your beloved wife. My fav line was: "Your eyes/ a duet of violin and cello/ sonorous, deep" - it enraptures my imagination! I envision big, brown eyes; dark soulful pools glinting with moonlight :)) Warmest wishes always, my dear friend.. ~Susan
