Best Made Me Who I Am Poems
In my mother's eyes I see my hero
I know fear is far at bay
In her words I feel protection
In her smile I see my face
Because She has loved me first
before anybody else
She carried me till the ninth month
so very close to heart
She breathed life into my lungs
Held my hand within her palms
Showed me guidance in every way
Made me who I am today
In my mother's eyes I see my hero
I know fear is far at bay
In her words I feel protection
In her smile I see my face
Her arms are always open
so I can curl within
For her I'm always special
Without my need to win
Her soul ever a rainbow
in hues of humankind
For She carries no prejudice
amongst the black and white.
In my mother's eyes I see my hero
I know fear is far at bay
In her words I feel protection
In her smile I see my face
Our days , lunchbox of memories
filled with tender loving care
Past nights, eternal bookmarks
of her fingers playing gently with my hair.
I know one time I'll wake up
in a world of all alone
In the stars I'd have to find her
because mama won't be home.
In my mothers eyes I see my hero
knowing fear is far at bay
In her words I feel protection
In her smile I see my face.
Not for the contest , but for those interested there is a contest about mum by Francine Roberts.
My poems are words with soul - Silent One.
As a monotone morning sketches
charcoal trees under
smoke filled foggy skies,
rain casually falls,
sliding down slate roofs,
causing havoc for traffic
on bustling roads.
Red lights seem to shimmer,
shining through shades of grey,
as the sound of raindrops drip
against my BMW's black bonnet,
my mind drifts nonchalantly,
discarding beeping horns and FM beats.
I ponder
is it an act or is it an art
this thing they label as life,
living with a formula formed and forged
from a mix of experiences and emotions.
I begin to question myself.
(why do we do that?)
I seem to have adopted a sense of vulnerability,
fusing feelings of fragility,
since my hair infused into silver (yes I chose silver over grey) -
something my father warned against.
But I'm not as tough as him,
although he wasn't half the man I am...
Yet what I have seen and heard,
has ultimately made me who I am today
and in all the suffering I have
always searched for the light -
Rumi was right.
Maybe I'm too open minded,
too fair in this field of selfish spirits.
Maybe I'm not loyal enough to my beliefs,
which contradict my moral compass
and philosophical projections,
but I've never claimed to be saint.
My soul is telling me to shut up..
I've always wondered if I'll ever be understood..
At least I understand me - but is that any consolation?
It's not as simple as wisdom accumulating.
Sensitivity of a smile can never be underestimated.
You have to peer beyond the verbal,
non verbal - comprehend the action.
Sometimes I feel unloved,
many times invisible,
yet I seem to come alive in loneliness.
Would I be a plaintiff or defendant
in a court of your judgment?
I will always represent myself.
Words with speech have never been true confessions,
as my thoughts are too deep,
sometimes too unreliable,
that's why I never pen them down -
it scares my soul (who tells me again to shut up).
I wonder if I make sense. Soul calls it nonsense.
Green flashing circle says I can go.
An abrupt end to contemplation.
Sadly grey tones and
tints of tiredness remain.

There will be a day… you will come back looking for me again…
You will cry all the tears in the world to get me back again..…
You will make all the promises and swear you will fulfill them..…
You will say you have no world left without me to live again…
I am sure there will a day for you to come back to me again…
But I will not wipe your tears away…I will not waste my words for you again…
I will not trust you and believe in the promises you make…
I will not tell you how much I suffered without your txe message..
I will tell you about the lonely days I spent…I will not tell you how much I longed for your love…
I will not tell you How much I missed hearing your voice… I will never show or tell how I felt..
You left me without giving me a time for me to explain…
When I have done nothing wrong to you in anyway..
You left me no signs of abandoning me in anyway…
But you did all the hurtful things to me I can say…I lost my happiness and I lost my self…
With the rain drops I cried so no one will ever see…
I smoke cigarettes to take the pain away with the smoke itself....
I had no one to say.. I was left alone let down by you in every way..
But the truth is… I am not like you in anyway…
I will not treat you the same.. But I promise I will not stay…
I will just walk away.. Without looking back I will step away..
I am strong to walk away.. I am well taught about love all what people says..
But I will do one last thing before I walk away.. for you to realize why I am this way..
Whispering my last few words to the wind for you understand someday..
“Thank you for leaving me.. You made me who I am today…!

My heart is soft like fragile clay
To bend and move within Your hands
Emotions grow, then fade away
As life is changed by Your commands
For You alone, O Potter, can
Make usefulness from my weak clay
From dust and ashes You made man
You made me who I am today
And as You wisely fashion me
And I am changed by what You say
Unchanging truths You show to me
You leave impressions that will stay
And these impressions strengthen me
My clay is hardened–starts to stand
As You continue molding me
How glad am I within Your hand!
So blessed am I to be transformed
Into Your vessel, pure and clean
That all the wonders You preformed
Within me might be clearly seen

Each day I grow a little
stronger
The trials I've faced have
made me who I am
The Bible tells God
chastens those he loves
With each storm I
face and with tear I
shed draws me closer
to God with a longing
soul and a desire for
our Savior
I thirst for you fill me
up oh Lord that may
thirst no more
Although I have faced
many storms in my life
I've come to realize
that no matter what I
face I can always rely on
Jesus Christ to gives me
strength, and everything I
need to make it through
this life on my way to
my heavenly home
I lived most my life ~ trying to hide the sin that made me who I am
worse part I’d do it all again ~ rather than being seen as this sham

It's funny how life is always changing,
as we pass through different stages of time.
How a simple life can need rearranging,
so everything will work out just fine.
When I was young I never would have dreamed,
that I'd be who I am this very day.
Thinking thoughts that are seldom seen,
changing my perspective in a whole new way.
When I was young, I was always quite shy,
never thought of being so bold.
Held back all the tears I could have cried,
only to realize it can turn a warm heart cold.
Afraid of being who I wanted to be,
from a fear that all I ever did was wrong.
In a way this kept me unfocused on me,
and onto others, for a time that seemed long.
By trying to keep those around me always happy,
is what made me, who I am today.
At times this made me feel a little crappy,
but I wouldn't be happy with myself any other way.

Dedicated To My Beloved Mother
Thank you for being a mother,a father
a sister, and even my best friend
Happy Birthday With Love oxoxoxo
(27th September)
I am who I am not because you think I am.
I am who I am because you say I am.
Your words do not define me, it only motivates me to be different.
There was a time your actions would infuriate me,
suddenly my actions is all you see.
I will do what I must than to be a burden,
for people are nice to your face and devious behind curtain.
If I am silent then I have nothing to say,
I've learned well the formula for trouble
also how to detect when discussions go astray.
I will share with world though some things I hide,
like why am I the Black sheep, Z' Traveler and why I hold them with pride.
My memories are misery it's almost a strain,
My past lets me forget nothing especially the pain.
If I am not too forthcoming then you need a new plan,
for skeptic and distant is definitely my intention.
There are times I think that I am the only one
but the years made me strong and I say thanks to you,
for it is you who made me who I am.
I wish there was a stairway
to heaven I would go.
I could see you as my angel
with wings all of your own
I'd tell you that I love you
and miss you every day.
My days have felt so empty,
these months seem like a dream.
I wish that I could wake up
and find you here with me.
I miss your loving arms around me,
I miss your comforting words.
You left without any warning,
and we didn't say goodbye.
Some words were left unspoken,
and we both had so much more to say.
If only for one moment
or maybe just one day.
We'd share that cup of coffee
and talk about our day
I'd tell you that I loved you
from daddy's little girl.
My life has changed forever,
I know you know it's true.
I pray that you can see me
and hear my cries of pain.
Please say you'll look down on me
and watch over me as you did.
And know I'll never forget you
or the times that we had shared.
To some you were just Alan
or maybe just a friend.
To me you were my father
that no one can take away.
I pray that we are reunited
in the kingdom up above.
Your strength, your wisdom, your humor..
has made me who I am today.
Is it fair to judge someone based on their experiences in life and write about them?
I've been told that I express too many feelings about my past...
How can that be? Why would someone say that?
My feelings were hurt...I used to be an introvert...
Not anymore..I've lived. I've learned. I admit I have been burned...
Days turned into months and months into years,
and here I landed, where I am at this exact moment in my life.
I have been through hell and back...and back again
and I know many people have too.
Whats the difference??
I find that writing about my past brings healing, and healing helps me learn lessons and lessons turn into blesso'ns.
My accumulation of knowledge I own today has expanded far from my yesterday's.
My internal knowledge I share today brings increasing hope for my tomorrow's.
My present remains just that.
An intermediate between the past and future.
And today is a gift.
I haven't always felt this way.
See, no matter the circumstance
no matter the reasoning
no matter what the false people proclaim, I am me...I am here..
and I am proud of myself.
It would be amazing if there is someone
out there who has been through the same thing I have been through
and felt a sense of hope and redemption.
I have conquered addiction.
I have faced many losses.
But..
I also have fought through them with all my energy
and every ounce of determination I had.
Writing about my obstacles and how I faced them
brings a sense of healing through my pen onto paper.
Many have been where I have been.
Many know about loss and the convictions I have faced.
I am not afraid to share my circumstances because
they made me who I am today.
And I wouldn't want to be anyone else in this world.

Yes! I become frail
Yes! You pushed me hard
Yes! I fall;
Yes! You made me stronger,
To the point that i think you are fortuitous,
I pray, I pray you to be the one
When you feel betrayed;
I heard Love turns into a antagonism and a curse,
To the point, I feel you are blessed
I still pray for you; to be happy
Yes! I cried.. I sob
Yes! You made me feel worse
Yes! I missed you
Yes! You made me who i am.
To the point, you are admired
I pray, I pray you to be blissful,
Now that, you are gone I feel, what was so exemplary about you?
I still pray for you to get what you want.
Here I stand on the front lawn for all gawking passersby to see;
A convenient spectacle on which neighborhood dogs choose to pee!
I try to keep my cool (so to speak) as people make sport of me,
With carrot nose, silly hat, arms formed from branches of a tree!
A corncob pipe clamped between charcoal teeth shapes my face;
I feel so ridiculous lounging here staring off into distant space.
Its those little household terrors who made me who I am,
Then they leave me to thaw in the sun not giving a tinkers damn!
I would just as soon have remained anonymous in a snow drift by the fence,
But if I may say so, I'm a handsome dude - that said in my own defense!
Politically correct jerks call me a 'snow person' upsetting me so!
Dang it! I'm a SNOWMAN and have been from generations ago!
Its cold out here but I reckon they dare not light a flame, lest,
It would hasten my doom which is so very tenuous at best!
So passersby, enjoy me whilst you can before my certain demise,
As I slowly sink to the ground liquefying right before your eyes!

Who am I
My subconscious mind
My subconsciousness towards
reality
Has made the unforeseen truth
Of my unforetold and unfolding
cohesions
To foresee the true identity
To the pivot of the see saw
The uncorrected conflicts
Even though life has been
unkind
Even with life's brutality
Life's constant casualty
Life has become a constant
battle of mystical deformations
It befriends no one
Predomination of mankind
The emancipation of the mind
Have made me who I am
My soul shall burn
To utter the real identity
Life's shattering perceptions
Of whom I should be
I've sinned
I've sinned against myself
Against my soul
Carrying soul triggering
burdens
Defer not for I shall unwrap
The concealed truth
That burns my soul for
I am an equivocator
Who swears in both truths
But shall never equivocate to
heaven.
