"From deep within my heart
I always catch the scent
of my Beloved. How can I
help but follow that fragrance?" By Rumi
I am a bee, a little bee.
The lovely blossoms beckon me.
They smile and wave; they wave and smile,
and though I linger for a while,
‘tis you, my dear, my precious Rose -
the one that long ago I chose -
to whom I gravitate. Your scent
entices me, and my descent
will be where I can see your face.
Long may I stay to feel your grace
and nectar of your essence drink,
my pretty flower blushing pink.
Sweet Rose, you know I love you so -
I'll come to you in sun's warm glow,
and when the night descends on you,
in light of moon I'll see you too.

-rearranging the stars-
How could we agree to separation?
If you were destined to be my soulmate,
Why would we allow the stars to change our fate?
They've written in a fresh verse
Sewing in a new song, soon to be sung
The Stars are not to blame
The fault lies deep within our hearts
Like earthquakes wondering through the years
separating silicone valley of tears.
Sweeping sweet dreams far away
What has become of my day?
Today the sun sets holding on to old hope
Tears fall down a sudden slope
Now my dreams are drowning down another road
Tonight I sit under the aspen cold
Alone, no longer in search of gold
Naming nights you whispered words of love to my soul
Your love no longer speaks
Without warning, the Midas touch slowly fades
In my chest - I find fault
The sound of heartache echoes every day
Rejuvenating every crack from display
In plain sight, I search for thee
The sun -The moon -The madness -The Salton Sea
My heart no longer speaks
Everything I dream of sinks like the night
Stuck in quicksand -- the aftermath
Healing scars the aftershock left behind
Finding ways to fill the gloom
Alas bridal curtains sit silently in my room
Setting boundaries between Earth's poetic plates
Like an earthquake passing through my heart
You left like the moon, moving mountains apart
IS THERE SOMETHING YOU forgot TO TELL Me, dear
Suddenly, San Andreas Fault looks tragic from here
Until then I will hold my breath
In hopes, our Plates will meet again

A Tribute to Slim Whitman
He led his horse towards a pool,
Near a lovely large cotton tree.
Far away, he heard the hooves
Of a thousand bison as they crossed
The dusty prairie in search of food.
Near at hand stood a large tepee
From where his lovely Indian emerged.
Dark hair, dark eyes. a beauty beyond compare.
She smiled but stood erect at the doorway.
Instantly, he lifted his guitar.
And in a yodel tune, he sang his love.
How oft he repeated his refrain,
"You belong to me,
I belong to you."
Finally, he put down his guitar.
Slowly, he approached her,
Tilted her lovely face up,
Their lips met in a sweet, lingering kiss.
The setting sun urged holiday makers
To roam around the Venice canals.
A thousand and one lamps helped
The gondoliers to find their way
As he sang a lovely love song
And pleased the lovers as they sat
On comfy cushions on the boat
Occasionally stealing a kind kiss.
Stare at the twinkling beautiful stars
Take a Pair of Sparkling Eyes,
List and learn, ye dainty roses
We're called the gondoliers
And this is our song of love.
Venice knew what love meant,
Even when they traverse the bridge of sighs.
They wondered how many crossed
To their doom. But that was ages ago.
Now the bridge was decorated with lamps.
Oh, what a beautiful sight it was.
Solitary gulls lead all to Piazza San Marco.
The lovers looked in awe at the tourists.
They paid the gondolier handsomely
And descended on to the vast square.
They found a table and ordered
An espresso and a tasty pizza.
It was expensive but worth it.
Leaves have fallen around us throughout these many years
Mist has clouded our eyes with vapors of vast confusion...
No one told us then, how storms might come, how skies would gather tears
Or how the sun would often hide, and seem to disappear
Perhaps those years, might have done such harm, to have shattered our illusions
Instead, we lean into each other's arms, and will stay until conclusion...

For Alfred's Contest: ABC of Love
Song of Love and Joy
What tune is this that stems from heart,
The voice of soul love-vibes impart
To light that flame before too long,
Before love dies and passions part.
Sing now, sing, of her love stoked song
Let her feel, how there you belong,
In her domain that strums romance,
Where lyrics of love laud lifelong.
Waltz with allure of graceful stance,
Spin with tease of her stolen glance,
Stand not still as your dreams pass by,
Lure your life to a gracious dance.
Smile with the dawn that thrills blue sky,
Watch it thrive donning crimson dye,
Wear your joy while you trumpet life,
Snatch her before love goes awry.

you opened your eyes but closed your mind
oblivious to dreams I kept inside
you saw the package but not the treasure
all of those late nights we were together
you spent the passion but saved your heart
keeping those two things far, far apart
nothing ever ventured, nothing ever gained
so good at keeping it all self-contained
you pulled the ribbon opening Pandora's box
you twisted the key in a rusty lock
you wound the toy just a little too tight
leaving in haste when you saw the red light
I thought I had it under control
I could play the game and you'd never know
you were much smarter than I thought
you saw the ruse right from the start
gently, you tried to let me down
distancing me with silent sounds
what you couldn't see--failed to understand
I knew your game but couldn't outrun your plan
you pulled the ribbon opening Pandora's box
you twisted the key in a rusty lock
you wound the toy just a little too tight
leaving in haste when you saw the red light
I could see your future and I wasn't a part
you weren't completely honest when we started
I knew there was another, but not the whole connection
how you had already promised your love and affection
so as we go forward with an uneasy truce
bury what's dead between me and you
no tourniquet will completely ever stop my bleed
you'll say you didn't promise to be what I need
you asked me once if the wound was still deep
you can figure that out in this song if you read
what starts with white lies, ends sadly with truth
it ebbs and then flows with each phase of the moon
you pulled the ribbon opening Pandora's box
you twisted the key in a rusty lock
you wound the toy just a little too tight
leaving in haste when you saw the red light

55.
Over the miles from the top of Arrach,
my heart sings an eternal song to you.
Touching the azure as sol does look back,
Through the ages we've passed and life lived new.
Hear my heart singing its Valentine song,
as your dear image before me does stand.
Over the valleys and mountains so strong,
Flyng so high just to hold your dear hand.
As we gaze out o'er the valley's fair grace
With our beating hearts that now beat as one
Your arms keep me warm in loving embrace
Restricting winds chill and warmth from the sun.
Valentine hearts and pretty red roses
on this day meant for lovers, your heart's song,
verses written with romantic posies,
to you my sweetheart I'll always belong.

Hi Connie, I just want to thank you for sharing ink with me in this collaboration. It was an honour and a pleasure as it always is. You did make the process easy and enjoyable. You gave the piece its light gentleness. Thank you for being a part of the collection. Have a wonderful Valentine's day. Hugs....Mike. XX
There is a song amongst the heavens
From days so long ago.
It's words are played amongst the stars
So soft and very slow.
They sing about the One above
Who made them all to shine.
They sing about His awesome deeds
He's done throughout all time
His works they are so very great
That even nature shows.
How there must be someone above
To make each thing to grow.
Now you can hear this song at night
If you are very still.
About the one that died for us
Upon that lonely hill
But He is not there anymore
Nor will He ever be.
For while He lives above the stars
He also lives in me.
Just ask Him in your life right now
If you don't know Him yet.
He'll take away all sins decay
Erasing all sins debt.
There is a song amongst the stars
From days so long ago
Each word declares the majesty
Of Jesus Christ I know.
Inspired by Psalm 19: 1-3
1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
2 Day unto day utters speech,
Night unto night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech or language
Where their voice is not heard.
Verse 1
Heaven drips its honeydew,
Pouring love where it’s overdue…
Your fetching face is in its view,
For heaven drips its honeydew…
V2
Sunshine breaks serenading thru,
My country lips, I’ve had a few…
Never seen the likes, of forever you,
For heaven drips its honeydew…
V3
With a scorpions sting, I’m turning blue,
Decaying in a desert I never knew…
Until I saw your smile right on cue,
For heaven drips its honeydew…
Chorus
…for heaven drips its honeydew
…catching your love with just one shoe
…resting my wounds near the bayou
…for heaven drips its honeydew
Bridge
Never say goodbye never say adieu,
Loving in your arms will ensue…
Trying to get away from that old mildew,
For heaven drips its honeydew…
Repeat Verses then Chorus & Fade...

Love Poems for Her
(That Special Romantic Interest)
Team Poetrysoup
Placed 2'nd...Thank You
She walks the paths less traveled
collecting wild flowers and fallen butterflies,
She knows that if she just keeps walking
she'll find herself where she once was,
Only she doesn't know which path to follow;
She sits in the seemingly endless field of sunflowers
singing silent songs of a distant tomorrow,
She believes that as the seasons change
she'll find herself closer to Him,
And she pretends not to notice the Sunflowers fade;
She dreams in the perfect forest solitude
gazing up at the Moon staring down,
She wonders, If she sends her wishes to the stars
will she find herself back in his arms?
But she remains there, alone, in the forest;
She runs through the pages in her mind
re-living those special moments they've shared,
She holds tight to the promise he made
she stirs it in with her lemonade,
But as the ice cubes melt
Slowly, He fades.
Love is now a feel that cuts thru my vein,
It’s a wave that runs down to the core and more.
I feel I am full only when you are near.
If you go far from me, I will feel so sore.
I want you to know that I love you more than all.
You beam as the fair moon in my sky.
Know that you are the only one I love.
Come down, don’t stay like a star up so high.
I will make a home just for you and me.
And set up all that will suit your whim,
Wrap you up in a feel, so pure, lush, and warm,
Like a swan in the lake of joy, I shall make you swim.
I love you in a way that none can beat.
My love for you is deep, a love you will feel.
My body, mind, and soul I give you free and full,
And my warm care that can calm, mend, and heal.
When you are with me, I long to hold your hand.
My lips burn for a kiss when no one is near.
You wake the love buds in me that I fail to tame.
You are the song I wish to hear and the load I wish to bear.
Little things in life are best of all,
As watching autumn leaves, snowflakes fall,
Or reading of Cinderella at the ball,
Or other legends that grew so tall-
My heart sings when robins call!
Church bells chime on Sunday morn;
In it, our hopes are born.
Who sought with variety to adorn,
Bird and bush and those yet unborn?
My heart sings because I'm never forlorn.
When Alice grew up, she touched the sky,
Drawn to White Rabbit, I don't know why.
If you wan't to question miracles, never try.
I just love to watch the bluebirds fly.
My heart sings, for God is nigh.
His love's all I ever needed.
Without it, I've not succeeded.
All my sins could not have fled,
But for The Man who healed the sick and raised the dead.
I rejoice for what He did and said.
Each moment, each ray of sun, He planned.
Nature is tended by God's loving hand.
Spread His word all over the land,
Live in eternal love so grand,
My heart sings of flowers in the sand.
Life and love are our destiny,
With Him, we must never disagree,
For dwellers of His days are we.
Ever watchful, Father, you call to me.
My heart sings to thee!
This poem was written by me during the coffee hour after church one Sunday.
If I could write a story song
Our loves’ beginning, told in time
In beautiful, eventful words
Perhaps a Sonnet of a rhyme
If I could write of younger days
Of unexpected rendezvous
Of fate’s design or destiny
I’d write of how I first met you
There’d be no Taxis, Chances Are
No Auld Lang Synes, no Lyin’ Eyes
There only would be tears of joy
For having lived love’s sweet surprise
If I could write a story song
Then every word could fill a page
For love needs only thought to live
And thought defies all time and age
And so my story would portray
The fortune of love’s wondrous gift
Of one remembered summer night
Of wandered hearts, no more to drift
