Premium Member Eve of Evening

Where to turn, oh friend I ask
I chose to turn to you,
if you'd be so kind.

Though I try hard to describe the beauty
heard by deaf ears, fall so short..
seen from eyes so blind.

Invited by a melody from the stars,
a concert of music makers enthralled-
Their numbers standing before me
cast down to Earth for you and I,
swath of angelic voices recalled.

Whether human beings or beings from a higher plain
I won't hazard a guess, nor confess, nor grasp..
yet still I ask.

Oh, but..
if you were there,
if only in this life., a trace.
heard from these ears
heart lightened in my chest
tears streaming down my face.

If you still don't understand, I understand
if you're troubled, please try to see
I'm trying in vain, so you must
imagine emotions evoked in music
a limited engagement, mimicked..
by a lone toad from a swamp.
It's me.

Even now try to recount the magic in moments..
turn away, not from beauty nor music, but strife..
hold onto a miracle, a million miraculous moments
in eve of evening..
in life.

Premium Member The Night Santa Brought Us Weed

Twas the night before Christmas and all were in need
as we waited for Santa who had promised us Weed.
Our parents were sleeping with not a clue in their heads
that their children were Stoners and away from their beds.

The cheetos had been placed on the table with care
with an idea dear Santa soon would be there.
The winter was cold with no time for a snack
hoping Kris Kringle would come with fresh Pot from his sack.

I had been to the Bank and had obtained hordes of cash
with a fervent desire St. Nick would bring the best of his Stash.
We had our concerns for a reasonable fellow
who was honest and straight... no harshing our mellow.

The time had been set as I looked at the clock
knowing the waiting was tense and we needed our Pot.
And then from the porch a strange sound did we hear
but it was only friend Jim who had gone for some beer.

I stared out the window and peered through the snow
and we were greatly concerned whether Santa would show.
And then from the street... what did I observe?
A '72 ford Pinto... which was stuck on the curb.

The engine was smoking and the tires were flat
and with the windows quite frosted... I reached for my bat.
This didn't look good as I gave way to doubt.
Wondering who was the driver and who would come out?

And who should come forth? But Santa himself
who was all bearded and fat, a jolly old Elf.
He climbed to our rooftop... was nimble and quick
thus avoiding the doorbell... this fella was slick.

He was now in the chimney and this lightened our hearts
and we knew he was close when we heard the Elf fart.
And then in an instant the Big Guy appeared
but asking double the price for which we had feared.

We told him our troubles as he pondered our point,
he then lowered the price on every third Joint.
The payment was made and the dope was obtained
and up the chimney he rose unconcerned for the flame.

I'll remember that night... for it was a doozy
when Santa came through... and brought me a Doobie.
As he drove out of sight... I heard him calling my name...
Merry Christmas to all and goodnight Mary Jane.

                              The End

Premium Member Holy Is the Lamb

this is the hour resting on the basin
of a sacred chalice awakened by crowns of stars
peeping then, swelling blue yellow...
while duskfall filters the shape of a world
kneeling on wooden pews and  candles;
the winds touching the valley that knows
this is the hour… when the homage of many
an outstretched arms surrender
to the blazing wisps of a godly dawn,
of late twilight's hour ...
for this is the hour, lightened by stroked peace
offering the vessel of divine light
along primeval rivers, and earthen clay:
shadow to light light to shadow reaching
the final call as on this the hour,
a scented air bestows chaste stillness…
until one last remembering
when the gentle lamb of holiness
circles through an arched moment ,
while kindness of eyes bows unto this hour.

When She Was Young

When She Was Young
When she was young she would sleep
holding her dreams in her hand next
to her heart to protect them from being
forgotten now that she is older she sleeps
dreading to dream as her hands cannot hold
them any longer.

When she was young her dreams had a meaning
they lightened up her mornings opening her
balcony to breath the fresh air to look towards
the mountains and feel the sensation of climbing
to the peak watch the other side & peep to the
beauty she could reach out to,being younger &
having the courage that tomorrow she can do it.

When she was young she was glad of life
because it gave her the chance to fall in love
to work to play to look at the stars.

Now that she is older she opens her balcony
and sees a black fog hiding her view the mountains
don't exist her hopes are mixed up there is a deep
valley, the trees are withered the path is blocked
the birds are screaming their nests are gone
the grass is suffering because of the wind changed
its direction running away taking everything
that might still be alive.

If only she knew how getting older would feel
when she was younger she would have intentionally
grabbed each day by force and lived each moment
instead of having to have lived only to give her
whole existence to everybody, she would have had
time to keep the mountains view look alive she
would have kept seeing a clear path with no end
she would have told the trees not to die she would
have told the blowing wind to keep her birds nests alive
she would have asked her dream not to let her grow olde
her dream answered her.
My friend if I could do that trust me I would have
fulfilled your dream.
Yet, she loved when she was younger,
she loves getting older, and she loves
living today each Moment, Now.

Premium Member October, When the Leaves Intensify

October, when the leaves intensify -
colored explosions: orange, yellow, red,
breezes to temper summer's heat draw nigh.

There's one last month of days with lightened sky
before our Daylight Saving goes to bed;
October, when the leaves intensify.

A campsite will my kinfolk occupy,
by hot bonfire we'll sing and break the bread,
breezes to temper summer's heat draw nigh.

So many sports events to satisfy
this fan: World Series appetites are fed,
October, when the leaves intensify.

The crisp night air, hot chocolate, pumpkin pie,
warm sweaters, gloves, and scarves become widespread,
Breezes to temper summer's heat draw nigh.

Sweet treats for trick-or-treaters who stop by,
the pirates, princesses, and walking dead.
October, when the leaves intensify;
Breezes to temper summer's heat draw nigh.

Magenta Was the Sky This Morn

Magenta was the sky this morn

Magenta was the sky this morn as I approached the day
Ominous of clouded rose in petal’d full array
Quietly it called to me in whispers on the wind
A fragrance pure, so sweet its touch now falls upon my skin

Engulfed in life’s serenity, so overwhelmed with fear
A brush of fate in simple terms as if the end were near
I stood to bare my feelings now a swirl in my mind
In hopes of some off distant dream so soon would come to find

Counting off the many tasks which brought me to this place
The reasons that did hold the time my sequence now did waste
Lost of any angered tears when captured on my brow
To cry, if it has come to be, then let it find me now

On my knees, the summer ground is warming to my touch
With gathered hands to here my chest, this future I do clutch
Loneliness companions me though still of wandered hope
I pray that what will come before my soul shall bear to cope

When suddenly a light appears, a magic in its sheen
A softer glow, this lightened mist of heaven’s tangerine
To touch upon the darkness in a spirit calling true
In witness to the morning sun that feeds the skies of blue

My heart beats now elated in a dance of utter bliss
As memories of long ago, I find they do exist
The rising sun to spill its charm in beacons shone above
This warmth I feel, rekindled flame, aglow within your love

The doubt did come of weakened state, a mind that was unclear
A hollow moment filtered in through thoughts of you not near
Alas the dreams of only one now obvious of two
For on this day, the rising sun, brings me the love of you

Good morning Soupers

Premium Member Beauty of This Creation

Beauty of this creation

A glow of Indian yellow peeks through the tall gray trees
All scattered on the hill, colored white with recent fallen snow
The sun lowers, leaving clouds tinted gray with lightened edges
Floating in the blue to see, before darkness settles in and temperatures drop
It is a cold December evening approaching, while pastel views brighten pink
A day filled with quality time merges with a night pending full of rest
Until we waken again, to the beauty of this creation waiting for us
	         - To look, remember and cherish -

Goodnight Baby

I wrote a song that reads your name...
And lit a candle that sits near our frame...
I closed my eyes and whispered through a dream...
Then I awakened to a room lightened by the moon's beam...
There you rest, your eyes moving in a peaceful sleep...
I could just lay their for hours and with a heart so deep...
My fingers run through your hair as I lightly kiss your forehead...
Then my eyes start to flicker as I blow out the candle along side our bed...
I pull you close as a small grin on your face makes it known...
Without a bat of an eye you kiss my cheek and we are off in our zone...
Goodnight baby is whispered in the dark for only I could hear...
With the blanket pulled up tight we drift asleep as our hearts beat so near...

Premium Member The Word

In the beginning was the WORD
And the WORD was ALL –
No sights no sounds
No memory to recall.
It filled the void
From no-thing to no-where
Through eons of time
Before time was there.
When out of the blackness
Soup of the stars,
The WORD spoke forth
Saying here I AM and
Here WE ARE.
Spewing forth goodness
From ITS sub-atomic being
Outward bound expanding, far
Beyond our human seeing.
Collating and collecting
Attracting, intercepting
Each morsel of matter IT made;
Creating the suns, swirling
Constellations on the run
Mother Earth, Her gardens, trees and shade.
Then along came man
To understand
We’re not accidental, inconsequential
Intergalactic dust!
We’re made from the WORD
And the WORD’s within
Everything we see, feel, dream inside
Of US.
And the WORD still flows
In the wind that blows
And flowers that grow
And every thought
From our deep inner spaces;
Every work of art,
Every stop and start
Of monuments, buildings, races.
Every song ever sung and bell ever rung,
Every sunset that mystified,
Each symbol, scroll, letter
That en-lightened US better
Every laugh, smile, tear ever cried.
The WORD still lingers
On the tips of our fingers from
Consciousness below and above.
There’s simply no doubt
This universe shouts:
It’s all about BEING
In love.

Premium Member How I Got It Together

after Indie Arie's "Get it Together"

Ya gotta just chain one anklet
as memory.
Plait one braid
to hide what you see.
The pain eating straight through
to your soul,
can be bandaged by playing
a role.
Tweet Tweet, I’m light
as a bird.
Slip slide I’ll wash
away dirt.
My friends are laughter and singing
out slow,
all the love I’m too
scared to show.
My ankle is sexy and sleek
where once you thought
it weak.
My will is starting to grow--
I no longer need
to yell at you.
All I have is a snap
of my fingers,
twirls of skirt
to lift my heart clear
of the debris you threw
my way.
Soul singing is the trump
of your fold.
You’re no longer needed
I showed.
After my back straightened
to fly like a bird,
I unbound my hair
and threw away chains.
Looked at the bright new view
my lightened load
has healed.
Slip slide I’m light
as a bird.
Slip slide you are lost
from my view.
Slip slide I’ve got
twirls of skirt.
Never more will I play
I am third
When I’m first.

Waking Up Without You

The sun sneaked through the curtain,
And lightened up the place,
Where you'd normally lay your head.

And as I lay alone, beside you,
I can almost feel your breath,
Upon the back of my neck.

I drag myself into the day,
And for a second I see you in the mirror,
Sitting on the edge of our bed.

As I walk into the bathroom,
I hear you call me from the bedroom,
But when I look, you are not there.

I laugh at myself,
In the kitchen,
As I put back a second plate.

I feel the warmth of your arm wrapped around me,
As tears full of my love for you,
Fall from my face.

Premium Member Evokes In My Senses

miraculous ruby sunrise at dawn,
gossamer twilight mauve sunset -
scintillating stars at midnight sky ..
moments of divine awe,
playful creepers on the fence,
vermillion rose-bush in the garden ...
dew drops on lotus leaves ...
an almost-forgotten poignant song from the past ..
reverberates.

precious faces treasured and engraved in bosom for time eternal -
emerge noiseless when I close my eyelids,
my father’s handsome lined face with pouring love ~
waving me back at our last meet ...
my mother’s kind eyes, calm and serene ~
praying ardently for everyone she knew and she did not !

sweetest friends from childhood ~
playing hide-and-seek, floating paper boats on a rainy day...
angelic  children I taught ~ eyes glittered...
faces lightened up when I am with them ~
found love incomparable...

a magical love spreads its radiant hue,
lingers in the innermost corner of my heart,
symbolizing the endlessness of feelings,

A childhood which was the source of all love ...
evokes, in all my senses ...
unfathomable emotions...

Fisherman's Belief

Amidst the thunders and in the rain shower,

Still the feeling to go and be ahead the lightened tower,

Why Oh fisherman, do you wish to trade this water,

For you know today the weather doesn’t look any safer,

But he said, in my heart all I can remember,

Is the joy it would bring if I can fetch fish for my kid’s dinner.

This place is no new to me,

Every day my life cycles around the same, you see,

I hold the belief that no matter what, I will find

As to this place I am affined,

So I say don’t fear, O dear,

As I see there is neither harm nor any barrier,

It is just a race to prove my self,

Else my confidence would then become small like an elf,

So don’t stop me and show me fear,

For I know when I return I would hear you cheer,

It would then bring a freedom in all our minds,

For I believe in the aim and not let the obstacles make me blind!

Premium Member His Death Our Life

His death opened a direct channel
to heaven. His life, a journey
of faith; His Source, the Light
of a Universe, greater than the
sum of all stars –

His message, one of redemption...
of conscious re-unification with our
Father/divine. The Son's blood, a
blessed, sacrificial-wine ~ vintage, that of
salvation – a healing elixir from Angel distillers,
for overcoming man's bout with garden-fever;

immunizing man's spirit against the plague of evil,
thus confounding a Devil's fiendish manipulation, his long-relished win –
for the red, ripened apple has always been, a symbol of Evil's
fermentation of consuming sin....

Let us all imbibe, drink as thirsty apostles
from Christ's extended ladle, reviving a world
gone astray –

such spiritual quench within mortal reach – let our
words and actions not merely be the sounds and motions
of a profitless speech, but life-giving principals to impart,
examples of righteous behavior to our children that we
are commanded to teach ~
further evolving (this generation of budding gods)
beyond surface gestation of mere garden-flowers, yet turning from
new transfigured dawn during early implementation of wondrous,
self-applicable
creative powers –

Christ withdrew Satan's poison from our dank, heavy
firmament, so that we also may be lightened and rise –
beams of sunlight woven back into Holy Cords
of ascent ~ strengthening silver threads linking the souls of
all mankind with God's limitless miracles above – transforming
our lowly natures into ever greater vessels for the expression of a
Physical/spiritual
Kingdom of
Purest Love....

Premium Member Divine Perception

The self-obsessive free will seemingly dormant,
envelopes the mind with an unreal veil transient,
obscures the ordained pathway God paves,
that l need to travel for it’s designed at His will.

The unseen glow of the omnipresent light
floods my possessed essence, but I don’t discern,
for I formulate life’s tenets encompassing the ego
in the ignorant realm of fantasized self-deception.

Unshackled out of the dark abyss of despair, I take
an inward journey through layers of consciousness,
perceive in the soul the radiance of divine beacon,
illumining the corridor leading to the abode of bliss.

After the ill-conceived venture the errant mind
finds the gloomy path of introspection lightened,
the secret door of the inner sanctum opens,
where suffused with divine light the lotus blooms.

When the soul shines in spiritual glow in inner space
as the unfurled petals of the consciousness flower,
in my self-searching odyssey at the edge of eternity
I perceive the grace of God within the sacred bud.
