Best Lemons Poems
Have you ever squeezed a lemon before?
(you very might well have and just not realized it).
Each time you grab the steering wheel, you feel determined:
There's no way in hell you're waiting another minute!
A lemon is sure a close call,
and anyone's capable of it - every Tom, Dick and Harry.
Sometimes you don't see it at all,
until you look up and realize it's already turned cherry.
It's a rarer site to see someone squeezing that one,
but there's no doubt it happens now and then.
Some call it stupid, others brave and daring.
Me? I just wanna get out of the car and grab a pen.
Squeezing a lime sounds much more safe.
Feeling a bit less brave, a small price to pay,
for living another glorious day.
But my dad is a different sort all together.
He goes through the entire fruit smoothie, it's just his way.
There'll be honking from behind,
people yelling, "What are you friggin' color blind?
Get off the Bluetooth, man!".
And I'm just sitting in the front seat thinking,
"I have such great writing material, so close at hand".
I'll have my head crouched low
feigning embarrassment, but in reality
this man, driving me, where I need to go
is the spitting image of myself
forty years down the road...
The poor lovely lemon,
It’s really so unfair
An arbitrary choice?
Then why not choose a pear?
Why pick on little lemons
A bit sour to the taste?
An unfair connotation
Common sense has been displaced
My car is such a lemon,
Is said to mean, its junk!
And that ‘When life gives you lemons”…
Is just a lot of bunk
Why lemons are delicious
In their bright and cheery hue
There seems to be no end to just what
They can do for you
Now, they can bleach your elbows
And can even lighten hair
Try sitting in the sun
With your hair that’s full of pear
And maybe most important,
At least it is for me!
I need them for my cocktails
Well, I need a lemon tree!

When life gives you lemons, you never give up, keep on believing, and don’t self destruct, a minute in time, is all it could take, doing the right thing, or make a mistake, your heart could be breaking, your worlds at an end, remember these words, stay strong my friend, this is just a second, this time will pass, take just a moment, that’s all I’ll ask, think of the what’s, think of the if’s, think life’s worth living, the greatest of gifts, this may feel like, the end of the world, your life’s in your hands, it’s not meant to be hurled, what I’m trying to say, what I need to make clear, it’s ok to be down, it’s ok to have fear, it’s ok to be sad, it’s ok to shout, it’s ok to scream, and let it all out, pain will soon go, and then there is light, never stop fighting, the invisible fight.
LIFE AND LEMONS
L-Live for love
E-Evolve restart,
M- Make lemonade
O-Open your heart,
N-No matter how bitter, no matter how tart
S-Smile with A Jesus A’peel.
During this unsettling time
I find much relief walking
beside the lemon grove.
I take my time on the
same route every day.
How the lemons
and my life has changed.
The trees have already flowered
and small green lemons appeared.
Soon they grew larger and bright yellow.
As I walk each day
ripe lemons fill the trees.
Some have dropped and scattered.
I wonder when or if they
ever will be picked and crated.
I watch a hawk soar above and I think
what it would be like to be so free
and able to land where ever I want.
Today I find one perfect lemon
rolled onto the roadside.
I pick it up and place it in my pocket
with an image of how it will taste
with dinner tonight.

He told me I had lemon skin
my breath was tart upon my lips
I carried the weight of the world on my hips
My tongue I should learn to bridle
It's just like the sun in the afternoon
with the windows open to dispel the gloom
Lime green pain lights up my room
With a whisper, a king could frighten
This house has ways to betray your steps
sour though I be as I falter and trip
courtesy gone in my first two sips
I'm wondering about tomorrow.
You've heard the old adage of extra lemons:
"lemonade stands for your family and friends
Positivity lifts and the fun never ends"
(accept when you dare to dream).
Lime green walls match the glint in my cat's eyes
My sadness creeps in when my little girl cries
I'm tart with my righteously indignant replies
Don't thank me - Thank my mother...
They say when life gives you lemons that you should make lemonade.
Would you like to know what it is yours truly would say?
Take that lemonade and splash it right back in life's face
who was supposed to give you oranges in the first place.
when life give you lemons you make lemonade
when life gives you a job its time to get paid
when life gives you women you'll surely get laid
but obsess over all this you'll end up a slave
see no evil hear no evil speak no evil please
just because I'm Satanist people think that I'm diseased
but I assure you all that I'm the cleanliest you'll ever see
cuz one of the things that separate is the fact I'm still me
I don't really care for the opinions of what you think
cut you, you cut me we bleed red and both show pink
inside were the same its our tones that are both distinct
if we keep fighting this war its all who will be extinct
when life gives you lemons
you can try to paint them gold
but you'll always be reminded
cuz inside still turns to mould
citrus spray fills the air
nails dig in thin yellow skin
lips pucker body shivers

in midsummer day
two green gossiping lemons
before my table
See its strange that you seem to forget
Its strange that you can't remember.
First day of Uni was amazing wasn't it?
Mum and Dad worked hard to make it happen.
My blood seems to disagree
my blood seems to forget
the paths they follow were paved by them
My blood seems to be flowing in reverse
Maybe its the wrong type?
Maybe its my fault?
I might be taking breaths the wrong way
See blood provides nutrients to the body
Keeps my heart beating
my mind sane
Blood is my life, keeps the my mind on point
There is always a cancer though
Cancer messing with my circulatory system
You make me feel like cancer
You are busy serving truck loads of lemons
I won't let the sour taste ruin my pallet though
See ambition is mixing liquor with life's lemons
No matter how many I get I will be busy making cocktails
No matter how many set back
No matter how many Lemons
No matter how many cancers
No matter how many selfish relatives
I will forever have ambition
Life's lemons or cancers will never get me down
When life gives you lemons... you
Must spit in the eyes of life
Why would it give you lemons
Without some sugar?
A neighbor got a lovely gift
Of lemons, but too much
For her to use so, neighborly,
She chose to get in touch.
She emailed with an offer
That her bounty she would share
Since even after using some,
She still had lots to spare.
I told her I would take a few
And thanked her, just to find
She’d left an overflowing bag,
By my front door, behind.
With way too many, I did try
To send a big bunch back
But she declined, quite sure I’d use
Each lemon in the sack.
A recipe for lemon cookies,
Using juice and zest,
Appealed to me; I made a batch
But, truth be told, at best
They were so mediocre
They were barely fit to eat,
Not lemony enough and yet
Too far from being sweet.
You might suspect this failure
Left me saddened and dismayed,
But I’ll follow that old saying
And just make some lemonade!
Sour lemons tend to bite your tongue:
remember the very first time?
As seen through the eyes of the young:
sour lemons tend to bite your tongue.
Do you recollect getting swung:
recall how it felt so sublime?
Sour lemons tend to bite your tongue:
remember the very first time?
Recall how it felt so sublime:
to watch snowflakes fall from the sky?
Magical days, back in your prime:
recall how it felt so sublime?
Always covered in dirt and grime:
there was nothing you feared to try.
Recall how it felt so sublime:
to watch snowflakes fall from the sky.
There was nothing you feared to try:
from kiss-and-tell to hide-and-seek.
If you recall, when you were spry:
there was nothing: you feared to try.
Sympathetic to those who cry:
you never considered them weak.
There was nothing you feared to try,
from kiss-and-tell to hide-and-seek.
